Contacted them through Yelp. While they were not the cheapest qoute, it was very decently priced. We had a vehicle inspection performed at another location and informed us that our condenser needed replacing, unfortunately our mechanic doesnt handle A/C related issues. Luckily, after contacting 15+ mechanics based on reviews, quote and time estimate so glad we found this shop! Very convenient, estimate was confirmed and was able to work around our schedule. Would recommend and come back for a/c needs! read more

Service requested: requested the gear shift assembly be replaced in my car. Tino was able to find one and install it for me with no issues. Quality: It's obvious Tino and his employees care about the work they do. There was clear communication and expectations, along with timely updates. They were kind and did a great job. Value: I was quoted $1000+ at other places, but Tino got the job done for less than half of that and was very professional. As a woman I often encounter being spoken too as if I don't know anything about cars and mechanics try to up sell additional parts/services I don't want or need. There were some things Tino offered based on what his guys saw when they worked on my car, but he didn't push anything or speak down to me. I really appreciated that! Safe to say I'll be bringing my car back here whenever I need it serviced! read more

Tino's Auto Tech - Auto Repair Near Me - Chula Vista, California

I just want to say THANK YOU to Tino and his shop for their honesty, integrity and customer service. I brought my vehicle here a couple of weeks ago after having some questionable work for a major engine repair done on it at a dealership and I'm glad I did. I found out that not only did the dealership cause damage to my vehicle during the repairs, they did not even check some of the other issues I brought the vehicle in for (they had my vehicle for a FULL MONTH) and also tried to charge me for unnecessary repairs and components when I picked it up. Tino was able to fix a minor issue I had with my passenger window not working on the same day I brought it in and for a fair price as well. I will definitely be bringing my vehicle back here for service in the near future. Again, thank you to this shop for helping me get my vehicle right, I highly appreciate it! read more

I heard a knocking while I was driving our family car, and we felt it wasn't safe enough to drive till it was looked it. We shopped around for a reliable mechanic to do the work. We saw reviews for Tino's, and all seemed great! An honest shop that does quality work. We were able to be seen same day, and based on how busy the shop can be sometimes varies, but they were able to squeeze us in. Thankfully, having thought we had to have a part replaced after an hour or so we got a call back from Tino himself and he explained the issue. We ended up not needing any new parts allowing us to save money. The owners honesty really goes a long way. We appreciate the hard work, we will definitely be coming back for any other car needs. Highly recommend! read more

Needed my brakes changed. Tino and Diego were great, they did the work and I was out in 45 minutes. I definitely will be back, local mechanics are always the way to go. This shop is a gem of the community. The service was straight forward and I am glad I was told about this place. Thanks guys ill be back read more

Tino and his Assistant Mechanic are my heroes, nothing more, nothing less. Tino's wisdom and insight are valuable outside of car repair. Once again they swooped down to help me realize my dream of this 94 Cadillac Eldorado being the last car I own. It is up and running beautifully after some tricky moments recently that ended up being a defective new starter. Tino always tells me to bring it right in no matter the day or time, and as of this week I have renamed him "el tapon de la'grimas" The Tear StopperSo very grateful to have still possible this 94 Cadillac being the last car I own, that it is in the best mechanical hands. Tino's advice goes beyond car repair. Now when my day is stressful, I wait 15 minutes then try to start againThank You again and again. Tino's Auto Tech in Chula Vista!!!! read more

My vehicle needed the water pump and serpentine belt replaced. Tino gave me a very reasonable estimate. I was having trouble securing a tow to his shop from my insurance company roadside assistance. Tino referred me to Ledesma's Towing. They were very prompt, dependable and extremely reasonable. Tino had my vehicle repaired in just a couple of hours. It runs great and I couldn't be more satisfied. Tino was very professional, extremely pleasantant and he saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you Tino! read more

My car needed new fuel injectors, and our family mechanic referred us to Tino's shop. They took such good care of my vehicle (and not to mention, he was able to fit me in last minute). I was able to have my car back within a few hours. To top it off, he even made sure I had a ride back home while I waited for my car. Tino did a fantastic job and his customer service is top notch. I've came to Tino's for years, he's really honest and straightforward. I was having trouble with my car and everyone was quoting me an insane amount, but he ordered something to test a theory and it ended up being a little cable switch. Will always go back to tino !! read more

Exceptional & reliable service! My car was taken care of without hurting my wallet. Its nice to support local, friendly & affordable business! Thank you Tino and team! read more

Tino was so great and helpful. Dealership quoted a $2500 possible fix on my 2015 GTi. Called around and was recommended Tino. Spoke with him and got a great price. Fix was completely different than what the dealership recommended. I have had no problem since with the car. I am so glad I went with the recommendation to have Tino look at my car. read more

Took a trip to AZ to visit family and had my Air Conditioner go out. Its nearly impossible to drive in that weather, especially with kids. Went to plenty of big named mechanics as well as local mechanics who were unreasonably priced, could not find the parts or work on it in a timely manner. Got the run around from most. Scheduled with Tino's Auto Tech and drove back to San Diego, CA just to get it repaired. Not only was his pricing reasonable but he fixed it in no time! I would highly recommend Tino's Auto Tech to anyone looking for a honest mechanic. As a side note: the car was looked at for a week by a local mechanic who left it under a tree so it wouldn't overheat. It was engulfed in bird droppings. Tino had cleaned it up out of sheer compassion. A true example of going the extra mile. If you're looking to get any auto work done, do yourself a favor a just schedule with Tino's Auto Tech. read more

Tino is awesome, he explains everything he did to diagnose and repair your vehicle. Each time I drop it off he checks the entire vehicle for any signs of potential issues, he replaced the bulb on my tail light for free when I took my car in for AC repair. He also warranties his work read more

The stars for this place are completely true! We've been bringing our cars here for years now (we drive older cars, so we've had all sorts of issues - he's even rebuilt an engine for us), and Tino is awesome every time. I can't say enough good things. Great customer service. Great, and transparent, prices. No upsell for stuff you don't need. Awesome, reliable work. Go to Tino and save yourself money and headaches! read more

Took my car to 3 different places before taking it to Tino. Nobody could figure out what was making my car overheat. Turns out the problem was really simple. Unfortunately the parts that I needed are discontinued. Tino personally checked multiple junk yards to find my exact parts. He finished the job in less than two days. Wonderful service, super nice guy. Thank you again Tino!!! read more

I called around Chula Vista looking for a mechanic who could do my oil and filter change and I seen tino had good reviews so I called and he said I can come in few a days and so I came in the morning time and he said the oil change would take up to 2 hours which it took 5 ! He never said to drop off my car and it would take 5 hours. He kept saying "it's almost done or we're working on it" as I'm just sitting / walking around. He told me that they messed up on car parts and he was short staffed , if he would have communicated that before hand I would have went somewhere else considering this is my only day off . He's just money hungry at this point. He also couldn't reset my service light so I left with my service light still on and paid almost $200. He also wanted to insult me by saying "people like you" if he would have communicated from the beginning their short staffed and it would take more than 2 hours I would have went somewhere else. I wouldn't go to tino if you don't personally know him he seems to only care about his long time customers or family. I still can't believe I left his shop with my service light on and paid... worst customer service ever. read more

I've been using Tino for about 4 years now, I've always received solid work at a fair price.

Gets it right every time , needed an engine , no problem, needed a fly wheel no problem, needed a starter, no problem , needed a water pump no problem all at a price I could afford, it's my work truck , can't be down long, no problem, . Like a doctor but better, makes it happen. I checked other repair shops, and had no confidence ,but talking with Tino, you know your at the right place. I highly recommend this auto repair shop. read more

Great, trustworthy mechanic! Quick service & let me know exactly what he did without me even asking.

Great auto techs and repairs. Every single time, I, or referred friends, get the same song and dance. "In order to fix it, it's gonna cost more money than I quoted." as the call goes. Then, another call, "In order to fix it, it's gonna cost more money." NEVER FAILS!. Today was supposed to cost $120.00 Within 2two hours, the first call came in, it's now $325.00. !1 hour later it was $175.00. Thirty minutes and the call was for more. It cost $375. to change an axle seal. read more

Tino's Auto Tech is the place to go for your car care needs. I went to Tino's after stopping at another shop and being told that they weren't taking any new work because of the rain and that I should come back tomorrow. Needless to say, tomorrow didn't work for me. I could tell right away that Tino's was going to take care of me. I found Tino's on Yelp, read a few good reviews and decided to give them a try. I couldn't be happier with my choice. Tino got me in to assess and diagnose my issue with my '07 Explorer in less than 5 minutes after arriving. Once he determined what was wrong (what I anticipated) he gave me a quote, ordered the parts and had the work done within 5 minutes of his estimated time (just under 2 hours) for a front wheel bearing, machines rotors and new brake pads. The pricing was great, the work was excellent and the shop was clean and the workers all seemed very professional. I definitely recommend Tino's to anyone looking for an auto repair in Chula Vista. Thanks Tino, I'll be back if I need anything else. read more

I highly recommend Tino's Auto Tech for your car repair needs. I am very happy how Tino have fixed and corrected the problem of my front shock absorbers issues that was messed up by another motor shop where I brought my van earlier to replace both of my front struts and shocks with brand new ones. Tino was also able to fix my long time problem with my transmission leak at a cost of less than $100 only. This transmission leak according to other mechanics who have looked at the problem said that it would cost me over $1000 to fix the transmission leak. More than the quality of the repair I have received was the honesty of Tino and his humility to deliver an efficient and quality service that meets the overall satisfaction of the customer. I am a very satisfied customer. God bless you and more power to your business. read more

Tino is an honest mechanic. I was referred to him by my boyfriend and have been taking my cars to him for about 4 years now. He tells me exactly was is needed and how much the parts cost and how much he will charge for labor. He has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years. The dealership has told me that I need things for my car that Tino has already done in past tune ups or he says he just doesn't agree. For example, just last week the dealership told me that I needed over 1k worth of work. Tino checked my car out and told me that most of the things were done at my last tune up. I did need a new waterpump, which they failed to see at the dealership. Total cost for everthing ( waterpump, brake flush, wiper change, bulbs changed and a few other small things) $350. If you need a good honest mechanic, Tino is your man. You will not be disappointed. Furthermore, he doesn't charge for diagnostics. read more
