Poor quality and Dishonest. Took my 5 year old Jeep with a l warning problem and after 1 week later and a $1,500 tab the light kept coming on. Took it in 3 times and the problem never was fixed. He was dishonest because he even took the jeep on a trip without permit and busted a tire and did not mention it during the my pick up. I noticed it because there was a cable dragging from the spare tire and took a close look to uncovered the spare tire was busted not flat. I had a new tire for the spare. I will never take my cars there again. They don't deserve stars for my experience was not good. read more

I brought my car here when it was overheating. I was told I needed to replace the radiator, the water pump, the thermostat, etc. and in addition was told I had an oil leak and needed to replace the valve covers, coils, spark plugs, etc. I was quoted a price of $4,241!! when I inquired why there was a 1000% markup on the valve covers (as an example) (online compared to the quote given) I was told they wouldn't be warrantied if I bought the part online. wow, so that justifies a 1000% markup ?? It turned out what I really needed was a radiator cap ($15!!) and a pcv valve ($35) .. that's it!!!!!! WHAT A SCAM. It makes me sick to know this business would treat customers this way and try to take advantage of people. Just because I'm a female doesn't make me an idiot. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more

Just went calling to see if they could do the work the guy was speaking so fast, didn't want to actually give me a correct quote just wants to say he's most expensive. I would just suggest for people handling the phones to be a lot nicer and actually give possible new clients all of the correct information instead of half assing it. Just felt like I was a bother. Plus you were actually the lowest I've talked to so far if the estimates were actually correct but you chose to get the customer off the phone instead of bringing business in. What are you talking about I had all the info and I said shocks you guys kept asking which one over again and I kept saying the shocks is what I was told. And as far as all the other information I also knew. You want to act like you were professional when you weren't. 2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL had multiple leaks. Replaced radiator, hoses, thermostats, and gaskets. Haven't had any issues it's been over 8 months. Price is competitive and Juan and his staff were professional. read more

I am always nervous about going places to get anything done to my car because of past experiences. I needed breaks done on my car, so I decided to take a chance and gave Juan a call. He answered my call at about 9:30 a.m, he told me to come by at 11 a.m. I am so glad I did, he was honest and never once tired to up sale me on anything. The service was easy and friendly! Juan is one of the few honest mechanics. I went to PepBoys on El Cajon Bvld. and they told me I had a 'blown head', even wrote me an estimate for a $7000 new engine they wanted to instal. I had my truck towed to Juan's Auto Repair, and he immediately saw that I had play in the water pump, and said he would try that first. $320 later, my truck was fixed, no more over heating, no more leaking coolant. $7000 vs $320, you decide. Finally got a chance to write this review. I was looking for a mechanic for my 21 year old Ford Ranger that's been in the family since new. She needed a bit of TLC, not worth very much financially, but I have a strong emotional connection with the truck, and wanted to keep her running. Luckily I happened to find a recommendation for Juan from my Ford Ranger forum, and decided to check on him on Yelp. Great reviews, so I decided to give him a try. I couldn't be more satisfied with his work, customer service, and prices. I had to replace the rear main seal, the dreaded rear freeze plug, and another gasket leak. Obviously, from a value prospective, doing a lot of work on a truck that's not financially valued at a lot wouldn't really make much sense, but Juan's pricing made it reasonable. Note: - Juan charged me much less than the dealer wanted, and all the other independent shops I spoke with. - He used the correct factory parts, not generic stuff. - He fixed things I didn't ask him to, and he didn't charge me for them, such as my sticky throttle! - They are open on Saturdays. - They have specials for US Service People / Troops. In short, I can tell you that Juan is someone who enjoys his work, and helping people fix their vehicles. He is honest, goes above and beyond the call of duty, and will go out of his way to make sure you are satisfied with his work. I cannot recommend him enough! read more

Took my Durango to Juan. It has been leaking power steering fluid for about a year . I have been putting fluid in it every few weeks and finally had time to take it to a repair shop that had some great reviews on yelp. Well... You were right. Other mechanic told me it would be $650 and change the box. Juan popped his head under the hood and recommended I power wash the engine but he thought it was just a hose. After taking Juan's recommendation I cleaned the engine, he changed the hose and gave me an oil change and I was out the door for $200. I first took my husband's '89 Chevy truck to him in 2013, and as soon as I arrived, he was very helpful and did not try to sell me unnecessary parts and labor as some other places would, since let's face it, i'm a young girl who doesn't know much about cars. This review has been needing to come for a long time. My wife and I have been taking our cars to Juan for a couple of years now. The entire reason we found out about him was Yelp. We both have had brakes, tune-ups, and service lights checked several times since. Juan has always gone out of his way to accommodate our crazy work schedules. He is great about calling when he has information. Juan always gives different opinions for fixes and replacements if there are other options. He spends the time to explain each issue in a way that no matter what your under the hood knowledge, you will leave being more informed. He never suggests more expensive options unless there isn't another choice or the parts are simply a better long term cost savings to you. Please trust in this review that he cares more about a long term investment in his clients than he does about trying to scam you into repairs you don't need or additional labor hours you didn't know about ahead of time. I went to Juan's Auto Repair this past week mostly because of Yelp's reviews. After he repaired my car I wanted to drive it for a week before I posted a review just to make sure the car didn't break down. The pro's...Juan is very knowledgeable and has outstanding customer service skills. He takes time to talk and explains everything to you. He fixed my clutch on my 1995 Ford and even showed me the old parts. He went out of his way to even tighten a hose that had nothing to do with the repair. I thought that was great. Cons...Small shop and needs another bay or two. Though this is not his fault, it's the property owners. Other than that, I will not hesitate to take my car to him again. I took my 2001 Ford Expedition with 200,000 miles to Juan's Auto Service. It was missing and running rough. Juan took the time to clear, reproduce and diagnose the problem as one bad coil, while ignoring other false OBD car computer codes. He took the time to find which of the 8 coils was bad and replaced only the one. I appreciate the personal time and care Juan took in fixing my auto. Other places and dealers didn't want to take the time or effort to diagnose and wanted to replace all 8 coils at considerable cost.
