Ozzy seriously saved the day! Master Muffler replaced my stolen catalytic coverter a year ago. Fast foward a year and I needed to get a smog check. The smog shop "tampered" my car for the cover saying "he couldn't see the part number" ... I was told by the smog shop i needed to take the cover off. Ozzy took the cover off for me, and i took the car back to the smog shop. I was failed again by the shop... the guy said i had been given the wrong part for my car. They were wrong! Ozzy took the car back to the smog shop himself with pictures and proof so I could get my car registered. That is fantastic customer service. Thank you. read more

I'm still fuming about the whole situation with my son's used car. I bought it thinking I'd done a good deal, but a few weeks in, it started squealing like crazy. I suspected warped rotors, so I took it to a local shop that a neighbor had recommended. They quoted me $1,400 to replace the rotors and brake pads, which seemed steep, but I wanted to get it fixed for my son, so I went ahead with it. It After the work was done, you'd think the squealing would've stopped, right? But nope, it persisted. I took it back to the shop, expecting them to fix it under warranty or something, but they claimed the issue wasn't with the brakes anymore, it was with the shocks and struts. Like, what? That's a whole different problem, and suddenly I'm looking at another hefty bill. Esmael the mechanic tried to scare me into overpaying by saying my car would break down if I didn't immediately change a part he was trying to overcharge me for. His behavior felt manipulative and dishonest. He was extremely disrespectful, talked very fast so I wouldn't fully understand what he was saying, and did not let me get a word in or ask questions. I truly felt targeted because I am a woman. He needs to learn how to treat his clients with respect--especially women. Do yourself a favor and do not come to this mechanic. Don't bother calling, the customer service is garbage. They get mad if you come in with an amount quoted even if its their own quote haha. I asked how much an engine swap would cost & he said for you $1,500 because youre a good customer. Im like ok bet sounds good... Today I called for that same quote & they're like "then get them to do it for that price bye.", EVEN THOUGH THEY QUOTED ME THAT PRICE. I hit my muffler while backing up into the curb and caused the pipe to bend. The muffler wasn't broken but it was making a rattling sound. Brought the car into this shop and was told that to save me some money the pipe was going to be reused. First cut it, bring it back to its original shape and then Weld it back on. The muffler wasn't cracked or anything. It was going to cost me $200. I told the guy I was going to get a second opinion. First of all the price was outrageous! I wasn't even getting a new muffler. The damaged was around 4 inches of pipe. I walked away, went to Luna's radiator and mufflers on San Fernando Rd. and got my problem fixed in less than 20 min. total cost $60! Don't recommend master mufflers they almost ripped me off! Beware. read more

I've had a ton of mechanics in my long years of driving. Never had one like Oswaldo. Not only is he scrupulously honest (the Subaru dealer always claims the car needs more than he does, and Oswaldo's always right); he's always consistently reasonable in his pricing. My recent 15,000 mile service was about half of what Subaru would've charged me (and he cleaned my fuel injectors to boot). Simple, clean process, and good people all around. A rare find. read more

I purchased a car from Carmax. After a week my car started making some noise from the front end. I took it to Master Mufflers Auto that was close to place that I work. Ozzy introduced himself as the manager. I explained to him the noise from my car. He called his mechanic and they took the car for a ride but came back after 35 minutes or more which I did not like. Then Ozzy said that the problem is the from shocks and also the shim from the brakes are missing. I asked for a written estimate. Ozzy wrote an estimate for $1000 to fix the brakes and the front shocks. I took the estimate without having Ozzy to make the repairs. The next day I called Carmax and made appointment to take my car there in Burbank. They scheduled me for the following day. I took my car the following day and the service department told me to leave the car for them for at least 6 hours which I did. I showed the estimate from Ozzy (Master Muffler Auto, Inc.) to the Carmax manager and told him that I took my car for inspection and that Ozzy told me that the front brakes and the from shocks are defective and must be changed and it would cost $1000.00. I left my car with Carmaz to fix the problem. After I returned back to Carmax service department, the service manager called their mechanic who worked on my car. The mechanic told me that there was nothing wrong with the brakes and the shocks but he (mechanic) changed the suspension since the car still under warranty. Carmax mechanic said the reason that the Master Mufflers Auto said that Master Mufflers Auto want to make money and that is why they told me that the breaks and the shocks were defective. Carmax mechanic said after you drive you will see that there is no more noise. I took the car and drove it and in fact there was no more noise. The Carmax invoice also showed that there was no charge and that Carmax gave me a one year warranty for the suspensions that they changed. I never trust Ozzy and their facility - NEVER - One more thing I found out that my friend also took his VAN for minor fix but when he took his VAN back he found out that the engine was damaged by Master Mufflers Auto. My friend said that he never recommend Master Mufflers Auto to anyone. PERIOD. read more
