I tried doing my own rear brakes. Just to let you know: they are drum brakes, and drum brakes are HARD to replace if you're not an experienced mechanic! (aka me). After messing up a couple times and breaking a piece here and there, I wanted to give up and leave it to the professionals. Turns out, I also let some brake fluid leak out and now the system couldn't work properly. It was time that I decided to bring my car here for a proper brake shoe replacement and service. Took my Civic here at around 5:30pm on a Monday afternoon and agreed to leave it at the shop for the night. They had such a quick turnaround - around 3pm the next day, they called saying it was ready for pickup! And the price was so reasonable, too. Brakes worked as they should. Great customer service - Uri is very friendly as long as you come in with an open mind and respectful approach. My first repair at the Grease Monkey, I had a side panel to my front driver's seat replaced on my car. The expensive part was out of stock so had to wait for it to be ordered for several months. I was charged a reasonable fee for the time it took to install. Unfortunately, only a few days later the part broke again and I now have to return to get a new one. Maybe not their fault but a cheap plastic part. Was also given inaccurate information on something else. Uri the owner is very friendly and his mechanic Omar was honest in telling me I could wait on the brake fluid change. I will most likely be back for other repairs - hopefully not too soon though! Ha! First time here for a broken side mirror replacement. I had visited another auto shop and they quoted slightly higher labor cost and said they would need to use non-authentic Honda parts because they didn't have any available, but Uri called and personally went to the Honda dealer to get the real Honda parts and he replaced it while I waited. I also appreciated that he showed me what he was doing when he opened up the door panel to do the work. I am always skeptical when it comes to mechanics but Uri was both friendly and professional and I feel like I can trust him to give an honest deal and do a good job. This is your honest, no BS mechanic. If you don't need to repair something that someone else said to replace, they'll tell you not to repair it. If you wait on something thats potentially dangerous to you and your family, they'll call you out and ask what you were thinking. I can't tell you if they are the cheapest, but I can tell you that they're very honest and do a great job. They work on all my cars, family cars , and friends cars now knowing the work they do is honest and done right. Go here - go here - go here! I brought my lil Prius here to fix a standard problem. After calling my regular mechanic and two Toyota dealerships (Get it together SM - how can this thing cot $630!! Go home, you're drunk), Uri at Grease Monkey told me it would be about $300 to fix. This quote was already $300 less than the dealer and my mechanic. Grease Monkey also came highly recommended by my coworkers, and is the place my job takes our company vans. Knowing the NPO we are, they are committed to doing good for us, as well. Sure enough, my price not only was for the service/part needing replacement, but they did an oil change as well. I walked out still saving over $300 from what the dealer or even my (now former) mechanic would have charged me. Thankfully, I work down the street and can walk between the office and the garage. If you drive by on any given day you will see his shop slammed full of cars and youll never see the same car there for more than a day or two. I went in for an oil change and asked the big fellow to check out and/or replace my head light on the right side. He stated no problem and brought my truck in to have it serviced. 30 minutes later they finished the service and while paying for it asked about the headlight. The fellow with the tattoos said huh? I asked again only this time I asked if they had even checked them and he told me it worked fine. I walked out with them and showed them the passenger side. He stood there for a whole minute looking and when I asked him again he gave me this dumb look. I said evidently head lamp repair or replacement is not what you do?
