It's a classic donut shop. I mean the interior decor has been there since before 1999. But I'm ok with that. It's pretty nostalgic for me. Far from the crazy new donut flavors people make now a days. Nothing wrong with those either.. but sometimes I just want a simple classic donut. I get 2 things here almost everyday.. 1. Their "chocolate whip" donut. Clearly the only people I know who make it. I walked in pretty late and it was empty except for a table of elderly people playing Scrabble. I would have given 5 stars just for that adorableness. But, the donuts were delicious also! I got the apple fritter, cinnamon roll and bavarian, and they were all tasty. Fluffy and fresh tasting, perfectly glazed. Finally found a mom and pop donut shop that makes fresh, high quality and unique donuts. Make sure you come in early as the selection does run out by around 9am. Their donuts are great and they have lots of unique donuts. From fruity pebbles, Oreo and maple bacon, to their simple glaze crumb (they make a fresh glazed donut and crumble a crumb donut on top). Coffee, sodas and energy drinks are available depending on your taste. Parking is a bit limited but I have never found the whole lot full. read more

I drove across town to Master Donuts to indulge on my cheat day. I ended up ordering 14 donuts. I got Apple Fritter (cooked too long) it was too crispy and a bit burnt on the edges. The raspberry filled was too thick and it didn't seem like it was real fruit filling. The cinnamon roll was ok. I enjoyed the bear claw. Probably the best donuts I've ever had, and I'm no stranger to donuts :) The strawberry icing you see in these pictures is the most flavorful strawberry icing I've ever had. If they have any, you should try one. I wanted a creme filled donut but he was sold out of those by like 8am. It's all supply and demand and folks demand um :) I don't know if the guy working the counter owns the place, but he treated us like he probably did. Super friendly and respectful. Even made some of his regulars (old guys) buddy up so my family could get a table. Cheap wonderful eats. This great 'locals' place deserves your business! read more

ive been eating donuts here for about 11 years now and i will say that the people are always nice the donuts are always fresh and they always hook you up with a little extra after your dozen whether its some donut holes or some extra donuts. THese are the donuts you expect that comes in a big white box (normally a pink box) but it serves the same puprpose. Consistency is key and these guys have been doing it for over 20 years. They take cash only so bring a $20 when you come here and get a box. read more

I think I may have found the best donut shop in all of Vegas. I got here at 3:30am, just as soon as they opened. I was desperate for some fresh, hot donuts. While they weren't hot out of the fryer (*snaps fingers*), they were quite delicious. And the selection was enormous. I tried a chocolate bar, glazed twist, buttermilk and French cruller. I've been eating these donuts for a few years now and so far I haven't met a Master Donut that I didn't like. The shop opens at 3am which is great for you early birds. There's nothing quite like a warm donut right out of the fryer! Ken (the owner I assume) is very friendly and really puts the frosting on the whole experience. My favorites include the Apple Fritter (it could use more apples but the size and texture more than make up for that), the Apple Cinnamon Bear Claw (it's probably bigger than an actual bear's claw!) and the French Crullers. Friendly and cheap with good donuts. You gotta get there early, though, because they only make enough donuts to last until 11. By the time we arrived around 10, almost everything was gone. We literally could only choose between glazed, chocolate glazed, and old fashioned with pink frosting. Luckily my girls go crazy for anything pink, so of course we had a couple of those. Since Misti did her donut thing it got me wondering about my favorite donuts from master donuts haven't been here in over a year, so this morning I had to stop by to say hi to an old friend . I had two glazed and a cruller. The glazed were better then I remember , they are. Thick/fluffy about. 2 1/2 in thick , thin glaze not too sweet and not to light , texture wise. I guess the exact opposite of a krispy creme. Which is a good thing. Nothing against kc , I would not turn one down , but kc is like eating sugar air. The cruller was good not great. Clean and very friendly, with amazing donuts. The "Master" part of the name is quite apt. Master Donuts has a large variety of donuts, including the classics like glazed, apple fritters etc. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the shop was. Note they accept cash only (as with most donut shops). I enjoyed every donut I tried, none of them were very heavy, greasy or glaze heavy. In my opinion the best ones are: Bear Claw: huge, like a real bear's claw only with apple filling and no nasty scratches and cuts! Apple fritter: a bit on the crunchy side, could use more apple Cinnamon roll: succulent with the right amount of cinnamon I'll mention the good old classic donut by itself since it was the best one I've tried in Las Vegas: dense and chewy dough yet fluffy without being overly greasy. These are the best donuts I have found in Las Vegas. The normal glazed donuts are amazing. And they only get better from there. It is hard to explain what I love about them - they are not the bland bread donuts I find at grocery stores or the overly sugary donuts that melt in your mouth. I've been to a lot of doughnut shops in Vegas and have even tried the more 'creative' doughnut shops with fruit pebble this and peanut butter banana that, but I've had it! I'm sticking to the traditional shops that are a better value and actually get the basics right. Kenny is the owner and makes all the doughnuts in his shop. It's been around since like 1980 or earlier and they sell out fast. They open at 3am and run out by like 1000 on some days I've been in there. If I have a hankering for doughnuts after leaving the club I'll look at my clock and realize they are finally open and get some on the way home. Best donut shop I've been to by far! If you want your simple go-to old fashioned donuts, this place is it! Plus, it's close the UNLV, a great spot to grab something quick and get your coffee. They do have a few special types, and their eclairs are unique. You can see the filling inside them, because they actually open the center. It's actually a great way to catch your attention. We found this place today, love that it is run by small business owners, they were really friendly and the doughnuts were really good. The apple fitter was amazing. I like the small atmosphere and they engaged my children which was really nice, the place it's not convenient to us but would definitely come back because of the great service and great doughnuts. read more

8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning should be PRIME doughnut time....right? Wrong. I strolled into Master Donuts around 8:15 a.m. and, to my disappointment, there were literally only crumbs left on the majority of the doughnut shelves. My first thought was "Hey, these must be some AMAZING doughnuts to be all gone this early in the morning", so I snatched that last few that were left on display. The cake sprinkle was too dense and chalky. By the time I made the drive back to where I was staying half the vanilla/sprinkle mixture had crusted off the doughnut. The chocolate cream filled was hardly "filled". I cut the doughnut in half to share the other half with my wife, only to find that my half the doughnut had NO FILLING at all, and hers had a slight "squirt" of cream. They don't cater to coffee drinkers here either (which, c'mon guys, coffee and doughnuts is one of the great pairings of our culture). The coffee itself is "ok" but they put out no liquid creamer options (milk, half & half, or creamer) and only put out two, 99 cent store brand creamers that clump up as soon as you pour them into your hot coffee. If you're a business, selling out of doughnuts before 8:00 a.m., you need a business strategy to have SOMETHING fresh for the "late" comers. In order to get a good tasting doughnut, I shouldn't be limited to "crack of dawn" hours (which, again, 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday, isn't that late to me). Will there be a next time? Sure, but just because I have family that lives close by. Let's see if next time yields better results (I promise, I'll even get up at 6:00 a.m. next time. But if the doughnuts aren't "out of this world amazing", the rating remains). read more
