I've lived in the area for almost 7 years and I can't believe it took me this long to find out about friendly donut house! I went on a weekend and the line was to the door and for good reason. The donuts are cakey and delicious. I tried the cream cheese doughnut. It was spectacular. This place is casual so make sure you have enough for what you need if not, there are plenty of places nearby to grab cash. We kept hearing about how good this donut place from our family that lives here. Now that we are here at this donut place for the first time, it's very appealing as you first enter with the place smelling good and the donuts looks really good to the eyes that makes me want to try all the different donuts. ***Will update review on further notice *** I've gone here three times close to opening and hours after and every time they NEVER have a full case of donuts! It's rather unfortunate. I come for a raspberry jelly filled, they don't have it, I come for a crumb donut they don't have it, I come for a basic sprinkle donut and guess what??? THEY DON'T have it!!!! These are ALL standard donuts THAT I'd expect one to have at opening of ALL shops! It's been several years since I'd been do Friendly Donut House. The service is still top notch, the donuts are sooo fresh and good, I love treating myself to them. If there is one guilty thing I allow myself to gorge on is that I love me some donuts and coffee. Just kidding I'll gorge on anything lol. This time we tried the donut holes, an apple fritter that was fresh out of the fryer/oven, and got a couple to bring home with us. The coffee was good this the me around- I'm not sure how bad it was when I cane here last time but it was great with my donut holes. The apple fritter is a must try! Growing up in Southern California, I would often frequent mom and pop owned donut shops. I actually prefer these hole in the wall places over large corporations. You can definitely taste the quality and the pride going into the donuts. I was here every Saturday morning for over two months because my son had a soccer game nearby at Heritage park. We would always stop by around 11 am and there were still a good amount of donuts left! There was always a line but it moved pretty quickly. I'm definitely a purist when it comes to donuts so I will always choose a regular glazed donut. And theirs did not disappoint. So fluffy!!!!!! And not overly sweet, which I like. My kids love the donut holes. Way easier to eat on the go!!!! I'm also a sucker for apple fritters. It's huge!!!!!! I've seen apple fritters at other places that are half the size. Their Apple fritters and bear claws are AMAZING!!! I get those for my dad and if I am early enough in the day I get my favorite lemon filled glazed, these can go quickly!! They have doughnut holes that are dangerously satisfying so I only buy half a dozen because of my lack of will power. They are a long time neighborhood gem and care about their quality and service. Found this place on accident but so glad we did. I needed coffee badly and we were on a tight schedule between games for my nephews baseball tournament. While the kids were eating lunch at the Hawaiian Spot next-door ( Wills Hawaiian BBQ...excellent btw) I snuck over to this donut shop and oh my goodness. The smells that hit my nose were level 10 incredible! There was a line almost out the door on a Sunday and I can see why because I picked up two of their donuts and shared them with my husband and they were soft, sweet fresh and everything else that you want in a doughnut! not to mention the woman behind the counter was kind enough to make a fresh pot of coffee for me and the coffee was spot delish. We're visiting Vegas for the week and like to find one good donut shop per trip. This is it Stellar Yelp reviews, Cash only sign and a mountain of pink boxes on the side counter. They checked all the boxes before we even looked at the donuts. We went with a standard dozen and was happy to find another thing we look for in really good donuts shops: cake donuts topped with crushed peanuts. The chain stores usually stay away from them, for whatever reason. We mainly went with cake and they were near perfect with slightly crispy edges. When we got to #12, we got their raised/glazed and it was really good, as well. Standouts were the chocolate cake/frosting and vanilla cake/white frosting each topped with peanuts, their blueberry cake with minimal glaze (ideal), and a vanilla cake with bright red cherry frosting. They also had a vanilla cake/white frosting with coconut that was pretty good, but I wouldn't have complained if they had topped it with toasted coconut. The young lady behind the counter was attentive and patient. We were heading back to Vegas from Hoover Dam and stayed at the store to have some of the donuts. This place is very small and doesn't have a lot of donuts to choose from I'm guessing only during certain hours . I went there for my first time today around 10:30 . I was greeted by the lady behind the counter and she was very pleasant . I told her I used to work for Winchell's back in the 80's and that I ran the whole store at night by myself . I made all the donuts , ran the the register and cleaned up after baking everything . I told her her donuts looked really nice and she was grateful for the compliment . I only bought 6 donuts but they were mostly special donuts which do cost more anywhere . The only thing I was disappointed in really was that it was mostly just raised donuts on display today and not very fresh , you could tell they were made hours before . I asked when they make their donuts and she said they were making cake donuts now and raised later tonight when the baker comes in . I noticed there was no smell of donuts being made and I should know that smell because I was a baker for 3 yrs making donuts, worked many fast food establishments and had my own bakery / cafe' in Henderson . I spent 15.00 on 6 donuts and I don't recommend trying to buy a dozen unless you get the cheapest they have . I probably won't be going there much because of the prices and lack of a full selection during open hours . read more
