We passed by Le Cafe Du Val during a drive in Henderson and thought a lovely lunch here would be a nice experience. We learned they also have a sister restaurant - Le Cafe du Sud in Southern Highlands. This is a counter service establishment - you get in line to order and pay and get our number and find a seat. There is a lot of menu items and ready made pastries so your eyes will have to move quickly to decide on your final order. There are plenty of seats indoors and out, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. And water is self service as well. * Raclette Galette $15.99 - This gluten-free buckwheat crepe is served with raclette cheese, sunny side up egg, potatoes, bacon and ham. I love a buckwheat crepe and there's actually a place in town that I just love their version. At Le Cafe Du Val, they do prefer to cook theirs a little more on the softer side which I didn't realize. After a bite or two, I went and asked if this was typically how their galette is cooked. It was confirmed that yes, they do prefer it softer. They offered to remake mine which I initially declined but they insisted as they wanted me to be happy with it. So I agreed. I still found their version decent, but not exceptional. * Short Ribs Shakshouka $17.99 - This was on their Specials menu and was served with 7 pieces of baguette slices. It was good. * Melba Crepe $13.99 - It's a sweet crepe that's topped with poached peach, wild berry sauce, and whipped cream. It's simple and exactly as described. * Mini Lobster Rolls $18.99 - The lobster meat is mixed with celery, chives, and mayo and served on a butter toasted brioche buns. These are indeed mini rolls, so you may be hungry after eating them. Service - there really isn't too much to talk about as you order at the register and have minimal contact with the staff beyond them bringing the order to your table. I had to bring my plate to the staff member when I had the issue. I do appreciate their desire to fix my order though. Overall, Le Cafe du Val was just an okay experience for us. The food didn't stand out for us in the way that we hoped.

Almond Croissant (7/10, $7) - It has a fantastic almond crunch paste on the inside that was not too sweet, but very filling. - The croissant was nicely toasted. Prosciutto Sandwich (6/10, $16) - The sandwich comes with a small side salad that was pretty bland. Just some vegetables and some dressing that tasted a little sour. - The bread was delicious, the prosciutto is tasty, and their cheese blends everything together well. - The reason for the 6/10 and overall 3-star review is because of portion sizes and price. At $16, I would expect a side of potatoes. Friends got their eggs Benedict, and at a similar price point, it came only with the Benedict and no sides. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor inside is charming, and the set-up is pretty casual - you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came on a weekday morning and the service was quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good amount of indoor seating, and plenty of parking in the square.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were interested in the short rib shakshouka, but unfortunately they were out when we visited! Decided to go for a prosciutto sandwich instead, along with a latte and almond croissant. Prosciutto Sandwich ($15.99, 4.5/5) - Big fan of the bread they use here! - Flavors were light and fresh - Good portion size for the price Latte ($5.99, 5/5) - Solid latte, paired well with the almond croissant. Almond croissant ($6.25, 4.5/5) - Nice crunch on the outside, topped with almond slices - Almond filling with just the right consistency. A little on the sweeter side, but worked out well with our coffee to balance it out. Overall, had a great time at Cafe Du Val and would definitely come back again to try other items on the menu!
We have heard so much about this Henderson gem that we wanted to give it a try on Easter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is cute with plenty of inside and outside seating and even a wine bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were plentiful and very customer oriented. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The coffee was amazing and the place smelled incredible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You are forced to walk by all the sweet and savory delights to get to the order point. I think I walked so slow gazing the person behind me asked to jump the line. We ordered and paid at the register and they delivered the order as it was ready. We both thoroughly enjoyed both of our meals and I got to enjoy some of Danielle's too! . Definitely going to put this on the "show this place off to visitors" list!

Mother's Day brunch at Le Cafe du Val was absolutely worth the wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived to a line out the door with at least 25 people waiting and a completely full dining room, which honestly told us everything we needed to know before we even sat down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered two cappuccinos, a mocha, two Berries crepes, and the Short Rib Sandwich. The cappuccinos were perfectly balanced with rich espresso and silky foam, while the mocha was smooth, chocolatey, and not overly sweet. The Berries crepes were incredible -- topped with fresh berries, wild berry sauce, and whipped cream, light yet indulgent at the same time. The Short Rib Sandwich completely stole the show: tender braised short rib with Gruyère cheese, Dijon mayo, and arugula tossed in citrus sauce on warm ciabatta. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Even with the Mother's Day rush, the atmosphere still felt warm and charming, like a little French café tucked away in Henderson. You could tell the staff was hustling nonstop, but the food and experience never suffered. This place lives up to the hype and then some. We'll definitely be back.
Went to Le Cafe Du Val for a random weekday brunch with my parents. I've checked in here on Yelp before but I somehow missed out on writing a review for them. This was our last opportunity to sit outside before it starts cooling down later this week and into next week. The parking lot was packed to the brim, but I found a space a little further down the complex and walked over. My parents had arrived before me, found a nice table outside on the patio (lucky for us because it was so busy) and waited to take their order before I arrived. My dad and I walked inside to place our order. Obviously, this is a cafe, so I had to have a cup of coffee. I ordered a cappuccino with a lavender flavor inside...for some reason I think lavender goes quite well with coffee. I almost went with the vanilla, but when I saw lavender on the flavor menu, I went with that instead. Both my parents got a latte...all three of them had that sweet, foamy top on it, with the lattes featuring that awesome foam art. For food, I ordered a tuna melt and my dad ordered a quiche, both came with salad greens on the side. My mom does not eat a whole lot of calories during most hours of the day, so she ordered a crepe with pretty much nothing on it. When she got it, it was unrolled and it looked exactly like a slice of pizza with no sauce and toppings on it, which I thought was funny. My dad's quiche had spinach inside and my tuna melt came with cheese and other various veggies. Everything here was amazing, including the coffee. Highly recommend this place! It's nice to have a French cafe in the neighborhood with great food and great coffee.

So good. OK, my Smoked Salmon benedict was amazing on the baguette toast was epic. I would not want it ever again on an English muffin, never. The cheesecake was fantastic, as was the apple turnover, flaky and just so freaking delicious. Let's talk about the lobster sliders.... GUUURRRLLLL. We will be bringing folks and will be there as many Sunday's as i can.
2nd chances We meet again. My first experience a few years ago didn't bring me back. Hopefully the do over is better. Smoky, contemporary elegant with chandeliers. No greeting for me nor the 5 people entering after. Once finally acknowledged by 1/3 people the process was expeditious. Later in the day, 12, I was sent to find cheery yogurt danishes....all gone. A very popular item, but yummy looking alternatives. Beignets(fruit, Nutella filled) and cheesecake should suffice. The cheese cake for me wasn't praiseworthy but the beignets were good.

It's been a minute since I've had a chance to visit the neighborhood bakery, it's was not bad in the past. I was in the area and decided to picked up a cheese danish that looked appetizing. After getting home, I realize that the gentlemen /manager/owner had wrapped the top of the glaze with the paper, which stuck to it and then put it upside down, inverted in the bag which degraded the product and made for a clumsy process to remove the paper. Can't imagine why someone in a retail setting would do that. It seems careless and discourteous. I'd rather not have to remember to ask the team member to place the product in the package correctly. It seems like that should be a standard move. However, I would like to mention the helpful team member that was putting away the patio furniture. She was knowledgeable about the working hours and the correct entrance, I appreciated the friendly assistance. Unlike the gentleman who conducted the transaction, he went through the motions and answered my questions about the menu, but it was done in a less-than friendly demeanor that left me with the impression he could care less if I made a purchase or not... In the end, I did not feel valued, respected or appreciated as returning customer and I will not recommend this establishment. ENDS

CREPES, COFFEE AND MORE... [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went to this French cafe over a week ago to try to get a crepe to go. It was not overly busy. It's very casual and easy to order at the counter and go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Think again. I got through the line quickly. Placed my order and watched everyone around me receive their food, dine and leave within 30 minutes all while I was still standing at the front waiting for 1 gluten free crepe with fruit. There was a sign up front that asked guests to be prepared to wait longer times so I really tried to be patient. I waited. After 40 minutes still standing up front I still had no crepe. I asked the cashier if she remembered me and she said my order would be ready momentarily. I took a closer look at the order and noticed that the gluten free crepe was buckwheat batter of which when I ordered they didn't make mention of this. Due to my allergies and sensitivity I had to wait again to speak with someone else who appeared to be managing, perhaps the owner. He claimed they make their own batter and brought out the bag of buckwheat flour. Then read on google the ingredients. I really thought a gluten free crepe was mainly made of alternative flour such as coconut flour--not here. I also pulled up this information however I did not want to take a risk. He told the cashier at the counter to issue me a refund and he turned back around to make more coffee orders. I overall felt like I had wasted my time here. I used to take my kids here and haven't been here since they remodeled and expanded. I was by myself and really just wanted something to eat but was not offered anything else. That part upset me the most. Then my refund took a week long. Really thought the refund should have been immediately. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe is really cute! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was what captivated my family and I right off the bat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then I spotted the pastries on display and knew this place was going to be good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were looking for a quick breakfast before driving back to Los Angeles (home) and we stayed for almost 2 hours going back to order more at least 2 times. My brother also ordered a strawberry nutella crepe to go but he ended up eating it right then and there! We tried the cheese danishes, tuna melt, lavender iced latte w/ whole milk and the caramel chocolate tart (with a raspberry macaroon on top). Nothing was out of place and everything tasted better than it looked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for flavor, atmosphere and vibes... you can't beat this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also the staff were so incredibly positive, funny and upbeat. Local bakery with homemade pastries , made to order crepes !!! In the heart of Green valley !! I love to their baguette so fresh and homemade !! The service is always wonderful !! Fun bakery to visit !! Open for breakfast and lunch ! Inside and oudopt seating ! read more

The place looks very appealing and has a nice French-inspired atmosphere. The space itself is spacious and comfortable, with outdoor seating and convenient parking, which is a plus. Service was polite and attentive as well. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the presentation. The coffee was just average, and the pastries were below expectations. They were heavy, dense, and lacked the softness or chewiness you'd expect--more filling than enjoyable. The flavors were flat, and I couldn't finish any of the pastries. Overall, it's a nice-looking spot with good service and amenities, but the taste simply doesn't match the visuals. read more

When you walk into this cafe, you are greeted with a wide array of beautiful French pastries of all kinds. From croissants, cakes, and scones to a variety of colorful, beautifully displayed macarons, the temptation is REAL! We stopped in for a latte to go and unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. The drink was lukewarm and a bit bitter. I'm always leery about trying new cafes for that reason (I prefer Evergreen) but it was convenient on our way out of town. The servers were not particularly welcoming either, so for those reasons I wouldn't return. I can't comment on the pastries except to say they are beautiful, so it might be worth checking this place out if that is what you're looking for. read more

This place needs more stars!! Best lavender matcha, butter bear latte was yummy and strong! the blueberry lemon danish was delicious with amazing lemon curd. We also loved the avocado toast with a perfectly cooked egg. We ended our mother daughter Vegas weekend here and hope to be back soon!! read more
Quaint restaurant in a great location just a few minutes from home. I was meeting someone there for lunch and ordered a specialty coffee and a ham sandwich (that was huge) which included a lightly dressed salad. I also added ham flavored chips that tasted way too salty for me, even though staff said it was a customer favorite. My husband ate them - so it's an acquired taste. The restaurant had one person up front and another in the dining room, so service can take some time. Expect more of a leisurely lunch. We sat down in a half booth and the food came out nicely prepared and tasted fresh. I loved the little pickles in the ham sandwich - very light flavor. The salad was delicious and had quality greens. The specialty coffee was warm and tasted great. I would definitely stop in again and try some of their yummy desserts too! read more
Walking into this place is like being transported to a European cafe. The decor is chic and inviting. We came on a Saturday, and the tables were all taken inside, but we found some seats at the high bar by the window. Everything we ordered was fresh and absolutely delicious! They brought out the order as food was completed, so it was definitely fresh. It was our first time here, and we were impressed! I have to be honest, even after my extremely happy version of things in my previous review, I haven't come back to Le Cafe Du Val after the first time, because even though I thought it was great, so many other people do too and the anxiety of not knowing if we'd be able to get a seat was too much for me. I like busy places but I hate standing there, fighting people for a table. We were in the area (yep, my hairstylist is still a few doors down) and decided to "take a look" and see if there were seats available. I had no idea they did an expansion (I think because I remember the inside seating to be half the size before, with banquette seating against a wall) and was surprised to see that it was busy, busy but there were seats available, both inside and outside. We ordered a complete crepe and a smores crepe, along with a cappuccino and a caramel latte. They were out of whipped cream, which seems crazy for a place like this, but the smores crepe was still very, very good, even without it. I loved my complete crepe, the buckwheat crepes here are traditional and phenomenal, just super yum! As before, the coffee is really good here. I'm glad that I feel that I can come back and enjoy this lovely place, without anxiety. read more
Again,I only give 5 star to places that blow me away. This lil French cafe did such a thing. First, there was a LINE out the door. So you know that's a great sign that this place is good! There was not a seat in the dining room, but there are open seats outside, but it was a little chilly. I had the artichoke Galette and a friend had the everything Galette. i love this cafe dearly ! their coffee is amazing, tastes just like the lattes i had when i was in Paris. the best part: they're CONSISTENT. hit above the mark every time. no matter how busy it is, it still remains a calm and nice atmosphere to chill out in. light and happy vibes all around. everyone who works here is wonderful and they make sure you have everything you need. you order up front and then they'll deliver your items to your table. pastries and food are delicious and freshly made. my favorites so far have been the pain au chocolat and the croissant sandwich with bacon added. they've got an amazing menu, it all looks delectable and i can't wait to try everything! they've also got a selection of other things for purchase like olive oils, jams, coffee accessories, and more! read more
This place gets very busy. I've been before and wasn't impressed but I was craving a croque monsiuer and the first place I went, they no longer make them. The second place is closed for vacation, so third place is the charm, right? Sort of. I know getting a table can be difficult, so I decided to order ahead on the website. The directions state to present your credit card and the time it will be ready. Upon entering the store, there is no signage indicating to "pick up here", and all of the employees were too busy to look up. So, I waited in line while people ahead of me placed their orders. Finally it's my turn and I told her I was picking up an online order. She looks behind her to a counter lined with to-go orders and asks my name. She ndver greeted me, never smiled or made me feel welcome. She was told by another employee, she has to sign" amd directed me to the corner near the entrance. That's great, I wasted all that time. How hard is it to put a simple sign and add that to the directions? I got my sandwich and ate in my car, since there were no tables. (There was a table outside without a single chair. I opened the box and it was wet from condensation and the sandwich was like warm at best. It's difficult to eat from the box, but it was delicious. I strongly recommend if you order online, arrive before the "ready by" time. And now you know where to go to pick it up. read more

Starting off with the decor, it's absolutely beautiful inside with their expansion. It was nice to see the much needed extra room. It's very comfy and inviting. It does get very busy on the weekends so make sure you are either patient and prepared to wait or go early. The food was good. The French toast was the star of the show. It was incredible. It comes with a whipped cream, pastry cream, powdered sugar and syrup. You would think with all those things it would be sickening sweet but the ratio of everything was perfect and not too sweet at all. The eggs Benedict and racelette galette were good but not great. It's not something I would come back for, especially at $17.99 for the eggs Benedict that was small and hardly any bacon. The macarons and croissant were delicious and very fresh. The coffee was just ok also, nothing that wowed us. The customer service was lacking. It came across as if they could take or leave our business. Only after my husband mentioned about how bitter the coffee was (and my husband loves a black bitter coffee) is when they changed their attitude. Overall it's good and worth going for the pastries only in my opinion. read more

You can have your dog but only outside seating not inside.

Very reasonable. I wouldn't say it's on the high side, nor is it on the low side. I think it is fair.

There is limited seating and it's a small place when it gets busy it can be loud. I'd say not really.
Do they take reservations?
Yes, they took our luncheon reservations, so it looks like they take reservations for the entire day.
Do you have any gluten free options?
No gluten free bakeries or cookies. They buy their bakeries, so no guarantee a dedicated gluten free label. And the bakery case an open counter so there's a chance of cross contamination if you are celiac's.
Are there any dairy free crepe?
Yes there is a savory dairy free buckwheat crepe!
