The atmosphere was what captivated my family and I right off the bat. Then I spotted the pastries on display and knew this place was going to be good. We were looking for a quick breakfast before driving back to Los Angeles (home) and we stayed for almost 2 hours going back to order more at least 2 times. My brother also ordered a strawberry nutella crepe to go but he ended up eating it right then and there! We tried the cheese danishes, tuna melt, lavender iced latte w/ whole milk and the caramel chocolate tart (with a raspberry macaroon on top). Nothing was out of place and everything tasted better than it looked. If you're looking for flavor, atmosphere and vibes... you can't beat this place. CREPES, COFFEE AND MORE... I went to this French cafe over a week ago to try to get a crepe to go. It was not overly busy. It's very casual and easy to order at the counter and go. Think again. I got through the line quickly. Placed my order and watched everyone around me receive their food, dine and leave within 30 minutes all while I was still standing at the front waiting for 1 gluten free crepe with fruit. There was a sign up front that asked guests to be prepared to wait longer times so I really tried to be patient. I waited. After 40 minutes still standing up front I still had no crepe. I asked the cashier if she remembered me and she said my order would be ready momentarily. I took a closer look at the order and noticed that the gluten free crepe was buckwheat batter of which when I ordered they didn't make mention of this. Due to my allergies and sensitivity I had to wait again to speak with someone else who appeared to be managing, perhaps the owner. He claimed they make their own batter and brought out the bag of buckwheat flour. Then read on google the ingredients. I really thought a gluten free crepe was mainly made of alternative flour such as coconut flour--not here. I also pulled up this information however I did not want to take a risk. He told the cashier at the counter to issue me a refund and he turned back around to make more coffee orders. I overall felt like I had wasted my time here. I used to take my kids here and haven't been here since they remodeled and expanded. I was by myself and really just wanted something to eat but was not offered anything else. That part upset me the most. Then my refund took a week long. Really thought the refund should have been immediately. The cafe is really cute! We passed by Le Cafe Du Val during a drive in Henderson and thought a lovely lunch here would be a nice experience. We learned they also have a sister restaurant - Le Cafe du Sud in Southern Highlands. This is a counter service establishment - you get in line to order and pay and get our number and find a seat. There is a lot of menu items and ready made pastries so your eyes will have to move quickly to decide on your final order. There are plenty of seats indoors and out, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. And water is self service as well. * Raclette Galette $15.99 - This gluten-free buckwheat crepe is served with raclette cheese, sunny side up egg, potatoes, bacon and ham. I love a buckwheat crepe and there's actually a place in town that I just love their version. At Le Cafe Du Val, they do prefer to cook theirs a little more on the softer side which I didn't realize. After a bite or two, I went and asked if this was typically how their galette is cooked. It was confirmed that yes, they do prefer it softer. They offered to remake mine which I initially declined but they insisted as they wanted me to be happy with it. So I agreed. I still found their version decent, but not exceptional. * Short Ribs Shakshouka $17.99 - This was on their Specials menu and was served with 7 pieces of baguette slices. It was good. * Melba Crepe $13.99 - It's a sweet crepe that's topped with poached peach, wild berry sauce, and whipped cream. It's simple and exactly as described. * Mini Lobster Rolls $18.99 - The lobster meat is mixed with celery, chives, and mayo and served on a butter toasted brioche buns. These are indeed mini rolls, so you may be hungry after eating them. Service - there really isn't too much to talk about as you order at the register and have minimal contact with the staff beyond them bringing the order to your table. I had to bring my plate to the staff member when I had the issue. I do appreciate their desire to fix my order though. Overall, Le Cafe du Val was just an okay experience for us. Came on a Tuesday morning and they were relatively busy. Great spot for people to get coffee and catch up, or get some work done as well. The interior design is open seating, has plenty of natural light, and has a bright design. Very welcoming and a nice spot to spend a few hours! Although the food is not bad, my only gripe is that the spot is pretty expensive for small portions. Almond Croissant (7/10, $7) - It has a fantastic almond crunch paste on the inside that was not too sweet, but very filling. - The croissant was nicely toasted. Prosciutto Sandwich (6/10, $16) - The sandwich comes with a small side salad that was pretty bland. Just some vegetables and some dressing that tasted a little sour. - The bread was delicious, the prosciutto is tasty, and their cheese blends everything together well. - The reason for the 6/10 and overall 3-star review is because of portion sizes and price. At $16, I would expect a side of potatoes. Friends got their eggs Benedict, and at a similar price point, it came only with the Benedict and no sides. Good amount of indoor seating, and plenty of parking in the square. We were interested in the short rib shakshouka, but unfortunately they were out when we visited! Decided to go for a prosciutto sandwich instead, along with a latte and almond croissant. We have heard so much about this Henderson gem that we wanted to give it a try on Easter. The place is cute with plenty of inside and outside seating and even a wine bar. The staff were plentiful and very customer oriented. The coffee was amazing and the place smelled incredible. You are forced to walk by all the sweet and savory delights to get to the order point. I think I walked so slow gazing the person behind me asked to jump the line. We ordered and paid at the register and they delivered the order as it was ready. Mother's Day brunch at Le Cafe du Val was absolutely worth the wait. We arrived to a line out the door with at least 25 people waiting and a completely full dining room, which honestly told us everything we needed to know before we even sat down. We ordered two cappuccinos, a mocha, two Berries crepes, and the Short Rib Sandwich. The cappuccinos were perfectly balanced with rich espresso and silky foam, while the mocha was smooth, chocolatey, and not overly sweet. The Berries crepes were incredible -- topped with fresh berries, wild berry sauce, and whipped cream, light yet indulgent at the same time. The Short Rib Sandwich completely stole the show: tender braised short rib with Gruyère cheese, Dijon mayo, and arugula tossed in citrus sauce on warm ciabatta. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Even with the Mother's Day rush, the atmosphere still felt warm and charming, like a little French café tucked away in Henderson. You could tell the staff was hustling nonstop, but the food and experience never suffered. This place lives up to the hype and then some. We'll definitely be back. read more

It's been a minute since I've had a chance to visit the neighborhood bakery, it's was not bad in the past. I was in the area and decided to picked up a cheese danish that looked appetizing. After getting home, I realize that the gentlemen /manager/owner had wrapped the top of the glaze with the paper, which stuck to it and then put it upside down, inverted in the bag which degraded the product and made for a clumsy process to remove the paper. Can't imagine why someone in a retail setting would do that. It seems careless and discourteous. I'd rather not have to remember to ask the team member to place the product in the package correctly. It seems like that should be a standard move. However, I would like to mention the helpful team member that was putting away the patio furniture. She was knowledgeable about the working hours and the correct entrance, I appreciated the friendly assistance. Unlike the gentleman who conducted the transaction, he went through the motions and answered my questions about the menu, but it was done in a less-than friendly demeanor that left me with the impression he could care less if I made a purchase or not... Went to Le Cafe Du Val for a random weekday brunch with my parents. I've checked in here on Yelp before but I somehow missed out on writing a review for them. This was our last opportunity to sit outside before it starts cooling down later this week and into next week. The parking lot was packed to the brim, but I found a space a little further down the complex and walked over. My parents had arrived before me, found a nice table outside on the patio (lucky for us because it was so busy) and waited to take their order before I arrived. My dad and I walked inside to place our order. Obviously, this is a cafe, so I had to have a cup of coffee. I ordered a cappuccino with a lavender flavor inside...for some reason I think lavender goes quite well with coffee. I almost went with the vanilla, but when I saw lavender on the flavor menu, I went with that instead. Both my parents got a latte...all three of them had that sweet, foamy top on it, with the lattes featuring that awesome foam art. For food, I ordered a tuna melt and my dad ordered a quiche, both came with salad greens on the side. My mom does not eat a whole lot of calories during most hours of the day, so she ordered a crepe with pretty much nothing on it. When she got it, it was unrolled and it looked exactly like a slice of pizza with no sauce and toppings on it, which I thought was funny. My dad's quiche had spinach inside and my tuna melt came with cheese and other various veggies. Everything here was amazing, including the coffee. Highly recommend this place! 2nd chances We meet again. My first experience a few years ago didn't bring me back. Hopefully the do over is better. Smoky, contemporary elegant with chandeliers. No greeting for me nor the 5 people entering after. Once finally acknowledged by 1/3 people the process was expeditious. Later in the day, 12, I was sent to find cheery yogurt danishes....all gone. When you walk into this cafe, you are greeted with a wide array of beautiful French pastries of all kinds. From croissants, cakes, and scones to a variety of colorful, beautifully displayed macarons, the temptation is REAL! We stopped in for a latte to go and unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. The drink was lukewarm and a bit bitter. I'm always leery about trying new cafes for that reason (I prefer Evergreen) but it was convenient on our way out of town. The servers were not particularly welcoming either, so for those reasons I wouldn't return. Quaint restaurant in a great location just a few minutes from home. I was meeting someone there for lunch and ordered a specialty coffee and a ham sandwich (that was huge) which included a lightly dressed salad. I also added ham flavored chips that tasted way too salty for me, even though staff said it was a customer favorite. My husband ate them - so it's an acquired taste. The restaurant had one person up front and another in the dining room, so service can take some time. Expect more of a leisurely lunch. We sat down in a half booth and the food came out nicely prepared and tasted fresh. I loved the little pickles in the ham sandwich - very light flavor. The salad was delicious and had quality greens. I have to be honest, even after my extremely happy version of things in my previous review, I haven't come back to Le Cafe Du Val after the first time, because even though I thought it was great, so many other people do too and the anxiety of not knowing if we'd be able to get a seat was too much for me. I like busy places but I hate standing there, fighting people for a table. We were in the area (yep, my hairstylist is still a few doors down) and decided to "take a look" and see if there were seats available. I had no idea they did an expansion (I think because I remember the inside seating to be half the size before, with banquette seating against a wall) and was surprised to see that it was busy, busy but there were seats available, both inside and outside. We ordered a complete crepe and a smores crepe, along with a cappuccino and a caramel latte. They were out of whipped cream, which seems crazy for a place like this, but the smores crepe was still very, very good, even without it. I loved my complete crepe, the buckwheat crepes here are traditional and phenomenal, just super yum! As before, the coffee is really good here. I'm glad that I feel that I can come back and enjoy this lovely place, without anxiety. read more

This place gets very busy. I've been before and wasn't impressed but I was craving a croque monsiuer and the first place I went, they no longer make them. The second place is closed for vacation, so third place is the charm, right? Sort of. I know getting a table can be difficult, so I decided to order ahead on the website. The directions state to present your credit card and the time it will be ready. Upon entering the store, there is no signage indicating to "pick up here", and all of the employees were too busy to look up. So, I waited in line while people ahead of me placed their orders. Finally it's my turn and I told her I was picking up an online order. She looks behind her to a counter lined with to-go orders and asks my name. She ndver greeted me, never smiled or made me feel welcome. She was told by another employee, she has to sign" amd directed me to the corner near the entrance. That's great, I wasted all that time. How hard is it to put a simple sign and add that to the directions? I got my sandwich and ate in my car, since there were no tables. (There was a table outside without a single chair. I opened the box and it was wet from condensation and the sandwich was like warm at best. It's difficult to eat from the box, but it was delicious. I strongly recommend if you order online, arrive before the "ready by" time. And now you know where to go to pick it up. read more

Starting off with the decor, it's absolutely beautiful inside with their expansion. It was nice to see the much needed extra room. It's very comfy and inviting. It does get very busy on the weekends so make sure you are either patient and prepared to wait or go early. The food was good. The French toast was the star of the show. It was incredible. It comes with a whipped cream, pastry cream, powdered sugar and syrup. You would think with all those things it would be sickening sweet but the ratio of everything was perfect and not too sweet at all. The eggs Benedict and racelette galette were good but not great. It's not something I would come back for, especially at $17.99 for the eggs Benedict that was small and hardly any bacon. The macarons and croissant were delicious and very fresh. The coffee was just ok also, nothing that wowed us. The customer service was lacking. It came across as if they could take or leave our business. Only after my husband mentioned about how bitter the coffee was (and my husband loves a black bitter coffee) is when they changed their attitude. This charming little spot definitely has a buzzy vibe, especially around Sunday 10 AM expect a bit of a crowd. You pick your own seat first, then line up to order at the counter. The menu is posted on the wall, and there's a lot to choose from. While waiting, you can watch a guy making fresh crepes, which is fun and gives the place an authentic touch. The pastries and tarts look amazing, and I was tempted to try more than one. I ended up ordering the smoked salmon Benedict, which came with avocado and arugula, flavorful and satisfying. I couldn't finish it, so I grabbed a to-go box. I also had a La Colombe canned cold brew (unsweetened, blue can), wish I had known ahead it was canned, but it was still solid. The vibe is very French, I was literally surrounded by French speakers, and the music and chandeliers gave me that France café nostalgia. That said, it was pretty noisy inside between the coffee machine, fridge slams, and overlapping convos. Outdoor seating is available, but Vegas heat says no thanks . Now, the not-so-great part: the tables weren't wiped, mine was sticky, and the chair had crumbs. The cashier didn't smile, and there wasn't really any warm customer service. The younger servers were efficient, but not particularly friendly, they seemed focused and all business. Bonus points for having Tea Forte teas, which I love! There's also a bar area, but it looked empty with just a few champagne bottles, unclear when (or if) that's in use. Looking for a French bakery without flying to France? This is the place. I don't like to be judgmental, but I judged this place based on one item: The Almond Croissant, and they did not disappoint. I was also surprised to see my favorite French candy, Callison's D'Aix for sale. I have never seen these in the U.S., I have to buy them when in France, so this place is the real deal. I want to make an update to my review. We went this weekend. The food and pastries are still excellent. I do not like their order process and food service inside the restaurant. Here are the issues in my opinion: - Tip options - When you pay, the tip options start at 18% (this is not a full-service dining experience, so this should be lower). I know you can manually change the tip amount, but the auto option should be at least 15%. We are ordering at a counter, not with a wait staff. - Food delivery - Our food arrived before our coffee and latte. Coffee should arrive first. Also, food arrived at all different times for all three of us. I am talking 5 -10 minutes different times. Oddly, the eggs benedict arrived before the coffee and crapes. - Dining area service - The staff that manage the dining area and deliver the food are not friendly at all. They seem unhappy and stressed. They do not smile or greet you in any way. - Water - The self-serve water station with plastic cups is very low end for what is trying to be a nice French cafe. Bring people glasses of water if they ask for it. - Coffee refills - It is very hard to get a refill if they are busy. They have a coffee refill near the register, but this area is very congested. A nice coffee refill station or staff walking around doing refills would be a much nicer experience. -Clearing empty plates - They do not clear dirty plates quickly at all. Our empty plates sat on our table for way too long. The staff does not seem to look for empty plates as they walk around. They walked past our dirty, empty plates several times. I hope management will read this and consider some changes to make the experience better. This is a wonderful cafe with very great food. Please do not forget about the service in the dining area. I also think a full-service dining area would be a good idea (with a waiter or waitress). read more
