I have had their items at multiple community events (I love that they come out and support different events), so I needed to see what other options they have in store. I ended up with a Dubai Chocolate option, Blueberry Lemon roll, a croissant with garlic and parmesan, chocolate muffin, chocolate twist, cheese Danish, a salted caramel donut, chocolate brownie, red velvet donut, and a few other options. They were all so delicious and mouthwateringly good. I really did like the brownie and the croissant...such a winning combination with those flavors. I usually come to this spot when I have a craving for sweets and this usually cures it. The staff must have sensed my confusion on what to get and were able to provide me with a ton of suggestions. My husband and I made the drive here because every first football sunday of the season, we get Carl's donuts in the morning. We got a dozen donuts and everything was so tasty and delicious. Family business, I think they are on their 3rd generation - which is so sweet. They have so many options you should go with a big group so you can try a lot of things without getting diabetes. We opted for a stuffed option and a cereal on top choice, both amazing. The oreo topped one is also just as you'd imagine. I love the idea of fresh homemade donuts being made locally. Carl's Donuts has been a local favorite for a long time and I can see why. The donuts are big and fluffy and don't weigh you down after eating. The Bavarian Cream filled ones have a good cream to donut ratio. The cruellers are airy and come ykszed or sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Both are great choices. The chocolate classic round and bar shaped ones have a good chocolate taste that doesn't taste too artificial. The cheese danish is so soft and filled with creamy cheese filling. The classic raspberry jelly filled donut was fruity and light. The big takeaway is that everything was not overly sweet, the donuts themselves are fluffy, and the price was very reasonable. The hot section is interesting as it has much more filling items such as a veggie egg croissant, the ham and cheese (which was very good), and a BBQ brisket croissant sandwich that was loaded with brisket and was filling. Definitely a lunch item if you want to save it for later. There is plenty of seating inside and a myriad of families and couples were coming and going. The place is clean though and had a section for T-shirt merchandise and stickers. They had fresh squeezed orange juice as an option which I appreciate. I didn't know about this donut place, I was actually looking at cars at a small dealership in the plaza and saw Carls Donuts in the corner, didn't leave with a car that day but definitely left with a dozen of donuts. The bakery was very clean and the staff welcomed me and my husband instantly when we walked in. There's so much choices of goodies to choose from, they didn't just offer donuts. There's something for everyone and anyone, we went with a dozen of classics, it was very quiet in there around 11am on a Saturday so we were excited there was still a lot to choose from. The donuts itself were very tasty! It didn't taste oily or leave an oil residue on the roof of your mouth, it was very soft and yummy! We will be back for more! Our recent visit was very different than our past visits that made us fall in love with Carl's Donuts. The attendant who served us was unpleasant with an attitude that was not warranted (very off par for the phenomenal and friendly service that Carl's is known for). Perhaps it was an off day for her (it's understandable, we all can have them). Then, I was oddly charged for my order. I ordered two individual classic donuts, one specialty donut, one ham and cheese crossaint, one jalapeño and cheese crossaint, and one double chocolate crossaint. Yet I was charged for a half dozen of donuts, a specialty donut, and the three crossaints individually. When I inquired about how the order was rung up, the explanation I was given was, "Well, because you have 6 items total, that's the base price. Everything else is added as an upcharge." Even with that explanation, the total charged still did not add up. Asking again because I shared I did not understand how that was tallied based upon the sparse prices listed on the board, and that I did not order (nor receive) a half dozen of donuts, I was then told an even more confused explanation. Seeing that I was getting nowhere, I said thank you and went on my way. So what I gather from this visit is that customer service is deteriorating and it seems that Carl's has started to charge a certain amount depending on how the cashier feels to charge? This is reflected by their items not having advertised individual price tags. You'll notice some items on the board giving a price range instead (for example: Pastries $2 - $7). Hopefully, this was just an "off day" for Carl's Donuts. After this visit, though, I won't be going out of my way to stop by. read more

I have been coming here for years, even before I moved to this side of town. The service is always the best. The employees are warm and helpful. They have so many fun flavors and all the great classics, so whatever you're craving, they probably have it. I've bought donuts here for many occasions including work potlucks, birthdays, and for friends who are visiting from out of town. Everyone loves these donuts! I love just getting a variety box to try several things. My favorite is the sugar coated donuts for sure because nothing beats the classics, but I have tried some new flavors lately including the creme brulee filled donut and the fruity pebble cereal milk donut and haven't found one that I don't like.
