It was $4 to add bacon so we went ahead with it. The Cinnamon Roll is to die for - they sprinkle on some sugar and caramelize it for a crispy crunch that adds to the overall mouth feel. Ended up at District Donuts inside the Cosmopolitan after seeing the ridiculous line at Eggslut and deciding we weren't that committed to breakfast. Turned out to be a pretty good backup plan. We got one of the biscuit sandwiches with egg, bacon, and cheese. The biscuit was easily the best part. This place immediately caught my eye! They have beignets and donuts displayed in a showcase that you can clearly see as you walk by, and I'm not going to lie--the beignets were 100% what drew me in. I haven't had a beignet since I was in New Orleans, so I was really excited to see them here! I ordered the beignets, which were $8 for two pieces, and honestly, I didn't think that was a bad price. Sad to say I was really disappointed in the donut I got here. On my birthday. I tried this spot in Nola and it was very good so I had high hopes. We had brunch money to spend on our way out of Vegas, a daily food and beverage credit that came with our Cosmopolitan booking. We were, however, working with a few constraints. 1. We slept in after staying up until 4:00 and had about half an hour after packing to buy food, check out, and leave for the airport. Like most of its neighbors on the third level of the Cosmo, District is an outpost of a popular restaurant from another state, in this case, Louisiana. The Vegas location is a small, busy take-out shop with a takeout menu featuring donuts, sliders, and brew. There was a short line, and we split up in order to get to the airport on time. I was dropping postcards off at the FedEx while one of my friends waited to check out and the other to order our sustenance. I relieved her once the order was in, so she could then head to check-out. Took some choreography, but we got our free brunch. I don't know what ordering was like, but pick-up was okay, except that they called my name at what must have been a low volume, then acted annoyed when I went to get our food, like they'd been waiting on me forever. Sorry, I guess? The food was okay. We took it to go and ate at our gate, so we didn't enjoy it fresh out of the oven/fryer/whatever. I got the hot chicken and honey butter French toast biscuit, and it was heavy on the honey and light on the heat. Not terrible, but definitely sweet. I got tired of eating it about halfway through. I tried some of my friends' burrito and beignets, and both were solid enough if not that interesting. The high roller burrito came with chorizo lardons, egg scramble, havarti, sweet potato, pico, and jalapeño sauce. The beignets were traditional New Orleans-style fried donuts, fluffy and coated with powdered sugar. It's possible I don't have the sweet tooth for a meal from a donut shop, so if you like your sugar, you might enjoy District more than I did. I came to District coffee on a Monday morning in Vegas. I was in dire need of a coffee after a long and late Sunday night, so decided this was the place. As some friends got food nearby, I waited in the line for a fresh latte. The coffee was okay. It was probably my fault that I mentioned my husband liked the coffee sweet, because boy was it sweet. He didn't even drink it. My coffee was decent, too. Definitely not what I'm used to getting, but overall the coffee itself was good and flavorful. Ordered the Bacon, Egg and Cheese biscuit with crispy bacon and a side of Waffle Fries. The fries portion was huge! I probably ate 1/2 of them. Cooked with perfect crisp outside, but not overcooked. The sandwich was very filling! Freshly scrambled egg, bacon was crispy and had enough flavor that no additional salt needed to be added to the sandwich. The cheese was folded into the egg and the biscuit had some crispy bits while remaining soft inside. The biscuit, like all biscuits, was a bit heavy so I ate this opened face to cut back a bit. First of all, this place is in the midst of a very chaotic food hall with lots of people around, but the guy who was working was very nice and helpful in making choices. We ordered a donut and coffees. The donut was massive and the flavor was amazing. Coffees were also good. They have breakfast sandwiches and other options as well. Would have loved to grab a donut late night but they are not open late (you're missing a great opportunity!) the nitro cold brew was the best coffee I had in Vegas. This is just and order and wait kind of place, so then you have to search for a place to sit if you're not going back to your room and there is just not enough places to sit for all these grab and go restaurants in the Block 16 food hall. The lines were long at all the places here too, so expect to wait for your meal which ever one you choose. This wasn't where I was planning to eat, but I'm glad I did. WOW!!! To say we are impressed would be an understatement! The line was wrapped around the kitchen and moved so quickly. Staff was friendly and informative. Shortly two seat opened up in front of the kitchen which I was excited about. To watch the kitchen chef and crew work was like a fine tuned engine. They were in sync with such a small kitchen. The coffee was perfectly balanced and just the right punch for a good wake up juice. We ordered the monte cristo and the egg bird biscuit along with a side of lemon beignets. The monte cristo was rich with flavor and the ham and havarti were nice salty balance. The big bird biscuit is what breakfast dreams are made of. Toasted biscuit with sunny egg with thick cut crispy bacon with a very tender perfectly fried chicken breast. Along side a sausage gravy with just the right amount of seasoning to carry it to bites of heaven. The beignets were fluffy lil pillows topped with a light lemon powder sugar. We were staying at The Cosmopolitan and I would rather not keep getting to our car to drive to different places, so I've tried as many places as I could on the second floor of our hotel. It's difficult to find vegetarian/ halal options, but thankfully, donuts (for the most part) are vegetarian friendly. I've got the biscuits and they are great with butter and jam. I just request the sandwich without the meat and it's delicious and filling. I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with any of the donuts, although I will say that I lean more towards the cinnamon rolls- the creme brulee one cinnamon roll is great.
