Pretty authentic Chinese restaurant in the Mississauga area. Immediately when I saw the dish that had pork ribs and abalone together that was braised, I knew I wanted it. The dish was light yet flavorful and balanced with a few broccoli pieces. I also got whole grain rice, which was $4 but was unique and definitely worth the try. But the star was the pork ribs and abalone, as I never thought this was a possible combination to taste yet it was so delightful and paired well with the rice. I would come back to try their other dishes, as it is authentic, flavorful yet healthy.

Master Cooking House is a hidden gem and a surprise for anyone craving some Chinese-Japanese fusion food at a decent price. There isn't that much seating in the restaurant, but was busy anyway. The food served at this location is full of flavor and is not heavy/oily. With went as a group of 5 and ordered the following... - braised beef noodle soup, a standard Chinese dish with a good broth and lots of noodles and meat - spicy squid, light, crispy, served with puffed rice crackers - spicy chicken karaage, the dry spice dip was a great compliment to the dish, we used it on everything else that we ordered and was deliciously juicy - ginger beef with broccoli, another standard Chinese dish - twice fried pork, great portion and lots of meat - Japanese chicken fried rice, nice flavor and good portions - ice jelly, a light dessert with lots of toppings on top of a clear agar like jelly, very refreshing and easy to share - corn juice, this was refreshing and had lots of corn - passion fruit lemon tea, light and refreshing Overall, the price and portions were good and the staff was great. The food was hot and came out as they were made, family style. The first dishes started coming out within 15 mins of ordering. Totally worth a visit, will be back to try other items in future.

Master cooking house is a top-rated restaurant in Etobicoke serving authentic Chinese cuisine with a healthy twist. They are known for serving scrumptious meals without preservatives and MSG. This family owned business is cozy with a cute decor. Their friendly and accommodating staff are there to welcome you. It can get busy at times but it's worth the wait because the food is very good and comforting. My partner and I enjoyed the following: Sauteed Pork Belly in Hot Sauce, Beef Tendon Noodle Soup, Popcorn Chicken, Original Beef Shank Tendon, Passion Fruit Lemon Tea, Ume Plum Juice. Everything was made to order and very tasty.

Hidden gem in this area surrounded by factory and office buildings...not a typical food hub. I like their healthy way of cooking. Seasonal menu adjusted with the season...you can also tell the owner how much effort they put there. Service is considerate and decors here is very warm, makes feel home. If you are new to Chinese food, please try their beef noodles/ fried dumplings and broccoli beef. If you are seafood lover, don't miss their spicy clam and leek with squid!

Very homey spot that gives you a taste of authentic home cooked meals! Chef/owner is a nice lady that reminds me of a friend's mom. Very passionate about her cooking, the ingredients she uses, and getting rich flavors without using MSG. I highly recommend this place whether you're just looking for a bowl of soupy noodles or a few homey family style dishes paired with rice!

Interior design is simple and clean. One wall has photos of certain dishes. Their logo of a cat is definitely cute. The seating area is limited. One has to order via a QR code. We tried their original beef noodle soup. The beef pieces were not chunky as it's supposedly that is how it should be made. The surprise was that they used pea leaves as their greenery which has a great crunch or texture. On the table, they had chili oil which you can adjust your level of spiciness. The noodle was chewy and the broth had some flavour. They are missing the aroma from Taiwan. I would give them a second chance with their other dishes.

The restaurant is bigger and more organized than the other location. I like the decor and the clean environment. We ordered the fish noodle soup. There is a separate order sheet for this where you can select your broth, noodle, toppings and drinks for $16.50. My husband ordered the lo mein with beef tendon which is so reasonably priced. We also got the honey bbq pork (char siu) for additional protein. Food is very tasty as usual. You can't go wrong with anything you order at Congee Queen. The service was quick. Servers are okay friendly, typical level of service you would expect at a Chinese restaurant. Overall we had a great experience here and might actually like this location better!

Meat was not too fatty and too lean, just to our liking. Congee was excellent with good consistency. Rice and water wasn't separated after eating a few spoons. Pork with mushroom was tender but we wished there were more mushrooms. Lobster noodle has too much sauce but the lobster was fresh. Services: very typical. The staff would not come to your table unless you call them. Decoration: Nice inside. Spacious, clean, and welcoming.

I cannot believe that these people are selling THE SAME FOOD that they were back in 2020 for 8.75 at now 12.40 PLUS TAXES. Why are you customers allowing to let these people get away with PRICE GOUGING. Some of these businesses continue to use "covid" as to why they were "forced" to increase prices. LIES AND ALL LIES. FIRST OF ALL, lets break this down shall we? If you pay attention, the majority of foods that this restaurant uses, always goes on sale. Brocolli, oinions, rice, chicken, shrimp, chicken balls, bean sprouts ( dirt cheap), bok choy etc etc. Example: combo one, for one person they now charge 12.40 ( strategically) PLUS TAX just under 15.00 for 1 spring roll, small pieces of chicken, small bits of brocolli and cooked white rice fried in oil? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! Reality spring roll 0.50, small bits of chicken 1.00, veggies 1.00, dirt cheap bean sprouts 0.50. So realistically you should be paying 3.00, but you are paying just under FIFTEEN DOLLARS No wonder these people continue to send their children to university off your hard earned money, they have no conscious or empathy. And as long as you allow them to, they will continue to ripp you off!!! I stopped patronizing this business years now, I felt insulted when I saw these prices... UNBELIEVABLE!!!! And the good quality is MEH! IF YOU MUST HAVE CHINESE FOOD, GO DOWN TO JANE AND LAWRENCE... THERE IS AN AMAZING CHINESE SHOP THERE STILL CHARGING READONABLE PRIVES FOR ALL THE FOOD. ONE PERSON COMBOS ARE UNDER 9 DOLLARS. FOOD IS AMAZING

The Queen has become sloppy…read more Congee Queen has long been one of our family's go-to restaurants. So for a family occasion, we headed again to the Heartland location with its distinct high ceiling resembling cool porcelain. This place was packed as usual with a waitlist register at the front. We didn't wait long to be seated but the service and dishes were generally disappointing. After dropping off a pot of tea, no one bothered to check in on us again. While we usually have the super bowl congee, the exorbitant prices nowadays for porridge that we can make at home with a blender is difficult to justify. Instead we had Empress Fried Rice ($22) that was served like slop but was still nicely balanced between sweet unagi glaze topped with bonito flakes. We cleaned the sides to make it more presentable for our meal. The dishes that followed next were hit & miss on the seasoning. Sweet Corn Garoupa Fillet ($24.25) was served with the battered fish along side a cup of thick corn soup but lacked flavour whether we dipped in the soup or not. Similarly the Mixed Fungus & Fried Gluten in Hot Pot ($24.25) was also light on flavour despite being one of our usual go-to dishes here with good variety of mushrooms. While Stir Fried Sirloin with Rice Roll in Satay Sauce ($18.75) was quite savoury with a good amount of sirloin chunks but too salty. Skip it or hit it? For a $100 meal, we'll be thinking twice about whether to visit this location again.

However, you better get your order and everything you want in one go, because they don't come back to serve you, and they're quite dismissive in their attitude towards you. They are all about getting you in, getting your food, and getting you out of here. If it wasn't for the taste, which was quite good, I would subtract more stars. However, the dishes I ordered, which include seafood fried rice and fish and tofu pot, were quite delicious. I would order both again, but there are plenty of options on their dinner and lunch menu I would try. The place is pretty expansive and clean and has an architectural feel and a fancy atmosphere for a Chinese restaurant. I would come back, but lower my expectations for the service.
