This congee queen is located close to Sherway Gardens. The exterior is a bit dated however the inside of the restaurant is really lovely, spacious, and renovated! The servers were attentive and the restaurant offers a cash discount. The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavourful, and plentiful. The set meal for six was a great choice and we had tons of leftovers to take home afterwards. It came out to about $40 per person when paying cash. I would definitely return to this location in the future.

I'm in Toronto and I've been wanting to try some congee for a few years. Congee is rice thats been cooked down into a porridge which can then be topped with meat and or vegetables. Congee Queen seemed like the perfect place to try some. My first impression was CQ is nice in the inside with many tables to accommodate large groups. We were seated by the hostess and given menus. The menus were on the thick side and offered a vast array of food options with plenty of pictures. If I weren't on a quest for congee, I probably would have tried one of the many other items. I searched through the many congee combinations and finally settled on the shredded chicken and duck with egg super bowl congee. The bowl included everything listed in the title plus mushrooms. A tea pot with hot tea and cups were placed on the table to sip on while waiting for your food. I noticed that the food potion sizes are huge and served family style. Well the huge bowl of hot congee arrived with a cracked egg in it. It tasted exactly like one would expect, a bowl of cooked down water and rice. I didn't hate it because of it's simplicity and I found it to be a nice warming comfort food just like a hot bowl of soup on a calm winter snowy night. I would have liked a little more duck meat instead of skin in my bowl. Congee would definitely be a step outside one's comfort zone if they have never had it before as well as some of the other dishes. CQ felt like it represented authentic Asian cuisine very well!

At Congee Queen - Dundas (Mississauga) for a birthday celebration. They have lots of seating and private/semi-private areas for bigger groups. The food came out relatively fast considering the amount of food we ordered. Their food was delicious. We enjoyed every dish especially the House Super Bowl Congee. Everything was seasoned well and cooked well. We noticed that this location specifically does not over-salt their food. Hence, why we chose to drive a bit further to this location for the dinner celebration. We did find it quite hard to flag down servers. I dont know if it's because we were in the semi-private room but one or two of us had to stand and look around for a server so we can order food. They had a lot of servers when they brought out the food which is why were quite baffled as to why flagging down a server to take our orders, and even to refill our teapots and bring some water to our table felt inconvenient. Hopefully the restaurant finds a more efficient system to ensure customers are not left in the dust and are not left feeling the need to flag servers down throughout their meals.

I've visited 3 other Congee Queen locations before and the taste of the food is about the same. I like coming here with groups and order a la cart to share. Dishes come out quick. Within 10 minutes of ordering, even on a busy Sunday evening. I do recommend calling ahead for reservations. We got lucky and didn't wait long for a table around 6pm. Portion wise, they are very generous. We usually have left overs. On our recent trip we tried a new dish with truffle and pork jowl. Although the pork was tender, there wasn't much truffle at all and we would skip it next time. The fish maw in the soup wasn't as soft as I remembered it to be this time.

Great experience at Congee Queen on Dundas St East. We ordered E26 fried thick noodles, E19 chicken chow mein, B22 mixed vegetable and corn congee, CQ9 pan-fried prawns with Kung Pao sauce, K53 fried chili turnip patties, and BBQ pork. Everything was flavorful and satisfying, with generous portions. The prawns and noodles were especially tasty, and the congee was comforting and well-balanced. The standout was definitely the turnip patties! Solid spot for classic Chinese dishes, I'd definitely come back.

Dropped by Congee Queen for a weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised by both value and flavor. I went with the Tomato Fish Soup with Shrimp Wonton, part of their lunch special ($15.50), which also included a free drink valued at $3.75. The soup came steaming hot, rich with tomato tang, and the shrimp wontons were plump and fresh. The fish was tender and balanced nicely with the broth. To round things out, I added a side order of two Chicken Wings and Fried Pork Chop for just $3.75 extra. Both sides were crisp, well-seasoned, and served hot - perfect for sharing or satisfying a bigger appetite. My son ordered his go-to: the Empress Fried Rice, known for its fun presentation with the dancing bonito flakes. It arrived hot and packed with umami - no surprise it's his favorite. Overall, everything was flavorful, served hot, and well worth the price. For $15.50, this lunch special hits all the right notes: variety, quality, and value. Bonus tip: They're currently offering a free Beef Rice Roll (Chung Fun) with $40+ takeout orders--a nice incentive if you're grabbing food to-go for the family. Until June 30th!

Got in early before the rush of families on a Saturday evening. Seated really quickly and figured out what to order easily. It was quiet when we first got in, but progressively got a lil louder as more people came to eat. Food came out quickly and with amazing presentation. Super happy with all the flavors as well!

2.5 stars    It took a moment for an employee to show up to the host stand. We were then led in and seated at a booth. The restaurant was on the dim side. It was mid-afternoon, and I suppose it was not a busy time for them, so half of the lights were turned off.    We ordered congee and customized noodles with a drink. The food didn't take long to arrive. The soup base was very different from what we expected. The tomato and pumpkin fish soup was a fish soup with a few slices of tomato and pumpkin. In other restaurants that serve these types of customizable noodles, they actually have a tomato and pumpkin-based soup. It did come in an extremely large bowl. I'd say it's definitely shareable. The milk tea that we chose came in a tiny takeout cup. It had the colour of milk tea but tasted like water with a bit of tea flavour. The congee was very thick, as a thickening agent was used instead of only using rice.

Great restaurant if you're into Chinese Congee which is a rice soup garnished with various toppings or mixes. Restaurant is huge with lots of room for big parties.

Great place. Selection for everyone! Service was good but could have been better. It was a Tuesday so not that busy. We had a variety of food, all tasted really good. I would definitely go back and recommend this place. The atmosphere is nice and they have some robot serving things moving around the place, they don't serve the food but looks like they bring tea and other things to the servers station?

This restaurant is outstanding in both service and food. I have been to the Heartland Town Center, Centerpoint Mall, and Thornhill Congee Queen locations and this Dundas locations seems to be the best one yet. I'm not sure why but the portion sizes, the quality of the food, the presentation, and the service at this location is better than the others that I have been to. I know it's all the same restaurant and they are all supposed to be the same, however this one is better for some reason. We arrived at about 5:30 PM on a Tuesday for dinner. It was early so the restaurant was not very full yet and we were seated right away and able to order quickly. While waiting for our order I noticed that the wait staff were assembled in a corner of the restaurant for what I assume was a pre-dinner meeting. We ordered the following: 1 X Fried Chili Turnip Patties 1 X Spice and Pepper Salt Squid 1 X Shredded Pork and Penny Hot Sauce Lo Mien 1 X BBQ Pork and Roasted Duck on Rice 1 X Shrimp and Chicken Fried Rice in Cream and Tomato Sauce (Ying Yang Fried Rice) The food came quickly and arrived hot, so hot in fact that we had to wait for the turnip patties and squid to cool before we could eat it. Another nice touch was the thermal carafe for the tea. Usually, the tea cools down towards the end of the meal, but the thermal carafe kept the tea hot until the end. I've always liked Congee Queen and this location has now become my favorite. I definitely will return again.

Visited Toronto and my friend took us here being in La have tried good Asian restaurants but this place did not disappoint they do have a pretty big menu lots of choices. Our server is ok they look busy but they are decent did not wait long for the food to come. Ordered a bunch fried tofu are really good, salt and pepper pork chop I'm use to having them crispy side but really tasty not too salty as well. Enjoyed that they do have a tea on the table and it does stays hot which is awesome friend calamari are good as well but the congee is a must order we did have seafood congee recommend to make sure order it. Place is pretty clean tables were all organized. It does gets busy in the weekend parkings a little bit harder in the weekend. Will definitely go back .

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. So please read this and try not to bring your pet inside to avoid looking entitled and rude.

It is a nice local spot to get your Chinese food cravings fixed. Their menu seems to be the same for all locations, the only difference being the price, all locations potentially the same other than the downtown location. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.

We also ordered Pumpkin Pie with Red Bean Filling, stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, Juicy Chinese Pork Burger, and their Juicy Cheese Beef Burger. Everything was quite good especially the Chinese Pork Burger. The outer shell was so crispy and the pork meat was so juicy and was seasoned just right. The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
