I know it's rare for a woman to be a customer at the barber shop but I've recently had a buzz cut at home and am trying to grow out my hair. In the meantime, I needed to get a fade on the side and back of my head so my top can grow. I'm nervous going to a barber shop for a few reasons. I've read online reviews at this place and my husband also comes here every month. There's about 6 or 7 guys who works here and they are always packed with customers. Generally, I'm told most of the barbers here are really good with the clips but my husband did tell me that Dilson seems to have the most customers returning back and requesting his service. I've decided to request Dilson. I told him what I wanted and he did just that and at each stage, he's telling me what he will do and stopped to ask if I wanted him to do other shavings and shape ups. Long story short, I got what I wanted and he made me felt very comfortable. I will definitely come back and will seek for him again. The parking here is really tight and limited. The shop is small. When you come inside, you are to select your barber on a computer screen. If you don't care who to serve you, you can select whoever is next available. Once you enter your selection, you get a printed receipt with a number so you can wait to be called for your turn. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon and they were busy so I can just imagine the number of customers coming here over the weekend. If you can come during the weekdays, I highly recommend. read more

Always a great cut, I get my cut once a month and never disappointed, everyone is always friendly and they take their time. It is nice finally finding a place that is close by and will continue coming here. read more

Great staff been going to this barbershop (barber) for over 20 years. Franklin the owner is the man

I never write reviews but this was horrible. I went in just for a simple shave, I've still got hair on my face, my neck is covered in cuts , that was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. Also the vibe was extremely weird walking in, no one greets you. Even the clippers and materials are super cheap and feel horrible on your face. I've been to barber shops in third world countries that have higher quality services than this. read more

Got the best cut I've had in a very very long time from Willie. Definitely will be back. This is the kind of barber shop I like - packed with tons of young barbers who really seem to enjoy what they're doing. A lot of talking and shouting and laughing (mostly in Spanish) but a true confidence in the cutting process. Got an excellent fade with incredible attention to detail for a good price. read more

I wish I had discovered this business sooner, as I had been getting haircuts from haircut chains that employed middle-aged women who didn't know how to cut my thick, straight Asian hair. These guys are versed in all the most recent styles and really take their time to make every haircut a masterpiece: you should budget 10-20 minutes for the wait (first-come, first serve) and another half hour for the actual haircut. Every haircut is finished with a straight razor shave at the back of the neck. My only complaint is the parking lot, which only has about 10 parking spaces, and is shared with a run-down laundromat and an Indian restaurant. A brick wall obscures most of the parking lot from Rt. 27, creating a horrible blindspot for cars entering and exiting, and there's almost no space for two-way traffic. Also, the advertised "free wi-fi" has been non-existent during my last three visits. All things considered, other customers and I keep coming back because of the consistently high quality of service. Spare $15+tip and an hour of your time to see what you and your hair have been missing. read more

I usually take my grandson here to see franklin. My grandson always comes out picture perfect!!!

I came here twice, and at this point I dont think they know how to do a fade so unfortunately Ill have to find a new barber. I even showed a picture both times of what I wanted and explained I wanted a fade, but no luck unfortunately. read more

Diego is my go to barber but they all are extremely professional and talented in their craft.

The best barbershop in north jersey !!!! Very talented and pays attention to every little detail they know you by name and treat you like a good friend I will never go to another barber in my life and btw every barber in the shop is very good at what they do hands down the best!!! read more

Definitely a solid barbershop. Diego is the barber I request almost everytime I go. He is extremely patient and pays close attention to detail. I've heard Franklin and Joey are also good barbers, but they are almost always booked when i ask. If you decide to choose any barber as a walk-in, be prepared to wait a while. In my opinion, call ahead of time and request Diego! read more

This review has been long overdue, but this is the best barber shop In town! I started coming here about 2 years ago when I moved to New Jersey from Illinois! I know trying to find a new barber shop can be intimidating, but you can NOT go wrong with this shop! My 3 boys have their own barbers they go to when they come in. Ricki, Dilson, and Miguel. I personally have 2 that I go to Wellington and Joey. My experience with them has been great. They pay attention to detail and take their time making sure you're getting the hairstyle that you want. They're always up to date with the latest styles. They'll always make you feel confident and looking fresh and clean every time you walk out of the shop! I'll update with some more pics but this cut was done by Ricki. read more

Joey is my favorite, pays great attention to detail. Worth the wait. But if you don't want to wait for Joey, others are just as talented.

Recuerde, el cliente siempre es correcto. These guys have a very bad system for finding out who's next in line to get a haircut. Everybody signs up on the list but every barber who goes up to the list looks completely confused. When they call out a name sometimes they don't call it out correctly or loud enough for the customers in the back to to hear their name and then they blame you for not listening. You have a large number of Barbers which is good and you think that there is no waiting but when they are on their phone half the time it takes them more time to do haircuts. Also just because I look white and have a white first name does not mean that I don't know what you're saying in Spanish. I am half Latino. Not very smart business to do that, you don't know who is who or who is listening. read more

One of the best and professional barber shops I've ever visited. Everyone is super welcoming and do a great job. They always have about 8-10 barbers working continuously and even then there's a wait time each time. read more

I just moved to the area and needed to find a new barber to cut my hair. I think I found the place at master clips. Its located off of state route 27 in Edison with some other shops. The parking area is pretty tight, but it at least it does have parking. You don't need an appointment but just expect to wait a little. I came here on a Friday afternoon and waited about 10 minutes and two people were in front of me. The barber took his time cutting my hair to make sure it looked great. I was in the chair for about an hour and he used the clippers, scissors, and straight blade. I usually request for the zero high fade and sometimes its hit or miss with some places. Overall, it was a decent cut and was not overpriced at all. I will definitely return in the future. read more

What can I say for all of us old school old. World Barber Shop experiences this is the place. Staff is great Franklin Joey and Edgar are not only accomplished Barbers but also engage there customers on events sports and family. It's always nice to banter back and forth and have both a fun and entertaining hair cutting experience. Joey will keep you laughing and Edgar keeps me informed of the really good placed to eat while I'm getting an expert haircut although with me theirs not a lot to cut. Lol I recommend this place if you want to have a great haircut and an overall fun time. It's a must once you go the first time you will be back. Dan A read more

I've come here more than 8 times and would not go anywhere else now. Joey is my guy to go and though I've tried others I'm only happy with Joey because he understands how short I want my hair without going at it blindly. read more

I went here based on the reviews in Yelp and that they were open late on a Monday night. Overall it was a very good choice, my haircut was done very well and the price was fair. I did feel a little out of place, as everyone seemed to speak Spanish except me. But it was still a good experience. Alex has done a great job with my hair, I will continue to go there, this will be my 3rd time. read more

I got my haircut from Joey aka "the youngest barber in Edison" and it was the best service from a barbershop in a while. They take your time in cutting your hair and have competitive rates for haircuts. I believe its 13 bucks compared to other barbers in the area who charge 15+. The place is also much bigger and has nice flat screen tvs throughout the shop to watch and discuss sports. read more

Moved to the area from Philly several months ago and had been getting my hair cut in the city during work because I couldn't find a local spot that I liked. Went to this place because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. It was a bit intimidating going in because it was filled with locals sitting around. But after my very first cut I left knowing I was coming back. Made an appointment with Dioni a month or so later and have been back every month since. $12 and they take their time to do it right, extremely detailed. UPDATE: Had to come back and change my 4 stars to 5. These guys are great. read more

This is one of the best barber shops that I have ever visited. The barbers were very nice and patient to find out what you want and explore all options with you. The barbers are very friendly too, make you feel very at ease. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who wants to get a haircut. It is priced very reasonably too!! read more

Dilson rocks. I have tough hair to cut with lots of cowlicks but this guy is amazing. I have not tried anyone else here, he was the first person I tried in the shop so haven't had the need to try anyone else. The place is quaint and clean with a dozen barbers and they crank out customers, thank God, because the line would be ridiculous. Having ESPN on helps Keep boredom away. They don't crank out people just for the sake of it but 30 mins is usually enough. Oh and they're extremely cost effective. I drive 30 minutes to go here so it's well worth it. Oh and the shave and shape up is amazing too! read more

Wonderful barbershop people, "Fresh man Fresh." I travel a great distance to this place for my haircut. The staff is very friendly and polite. Miguel, the barber, is at top of his game. I strongly recommend him if you decide to visit. The place gets really packed during the usual busy hours, after work and weekends. In the past I've payed over $50 bucks for a haircut and they were not even half as good as these guys who charge only $15, SO TIP THEM WELL, MINIMUM $5! The only bad thing is that they only accept cash...I'm sure you have some loose bills stashed in the sofa. read more

I've been a customer here for the past year and a half now, but this will be my last visit. Your haircut will be a hit or a huge miss, there lineup of untrained unlicensed barbers need to go. Master Clips Barber Shop - I penned in what my beard looked like before this "barber" shaved it off smh - Barbers Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

First experience is OK but not great as I expected from other reviews. Barber was good for the work he did. They should post senior discount or offer/ask one when they see an old guy; they charged me the full rate. Place needs to have more cleaning done. Decor also needs some improvement. It would help if the barbers there can learn some English; it was hard just to even explain what kind of haircut I want; forget about any other conversation. The place was full of workers talking to each other in some language I could not understand at all. read more

I visited this place after a lot of deliberation and hundreds of reviews online for a lot of places. I must all all patrons for yelp helped and this is a place that won't mess you up. Miguel paid so much attention to detail on those stray strands of hair after what I thought was a job already done. Great attention to detail. Reasonable pricing. read more

Decided to go to this place after being tired of sub-par haircuts. I'm extremely glad I came here--they are friendly and are masters of their craft. The guy cleaned up the sides nicely, but He definitely didn't know how to use scissors. Terrible job on top, completely uneven. If you're just looking for a buzz and a fade, it's a fine place, fair prices. But don't ask them to do anything with scissors... read more

Awesome place. Came in here with my little brother because our usual barber was having time issues. We ended up loving it! And it was $2 cheaper here than at our much smaller barber for a kid's cut. Although they are raising their prices here come September 1st, I'm still going to come back here though. Jason took extra time to give my brother what he wanted after showing him a picture, not just what he thought he wanted if that makes sense. We also walked in and sat right down. All different types of people here which I liked too. Must be busy because of good service. I was impressed and content! read more
