We have been coming here for hair cuts because I feel like there just isn't many options for places to go to have a toddler hair cut. The last few visits haven't really been the best experience. My son is already anxious with hair cuts to begin with making the experience much more difficult. The 2nd to last time we went, I requests a cut, showing the dresser the picture I wanted, and she ended just cutting all the hair off with no shape up whatsoever. The last time we went, no of the dressers wanted to cut my sons hair. When I went to pay with credit card, I also asked for change to tip the hair dresser and the cashier basically said no. Worst experience ever. I had a noon appointment and, despite checking in 5 mins early I was told there were still 4 ppl ahead of me. Ok. It happens. But I saw people going in and out... so I checked in again and stated I would take the first available person. Waited another 15 mins with no progress... After 3 check ins and another 45 mins I was told priority was given to those with appointments. I was stunned. I asked how it was possible there were still two people ahead of me and the woman informed me that before there were 4, and now there were 2 (with a condescending smile). We'd been standing there nearly an hour. We left at 1 pm (the apt was at noon) without a haircut. It was our fourth time there, and tbh the hair cuts were janky every time. This review is specifically for Maria. Took my son to her last week for his first haircut. He has very curly hair, very active almost 2 year old and she was great with him. Asked us a lot questions before starting and gave us a cute "first haircut" card with a lock of his hair we weren't ready to shape up the sides of his hair yet so she brushed it nicely giving him a cute big boy style. She also cuts my 6 year old nephews hair and shapes him up and he always looks great. A plus that my nephew actually asks to go to his haircut appointments and enjoys them. They were great in that they did all 3 of my children's hair at once. My boys always get very irritated from the haircuts so they're always very red and blotchy so it took until the next day to see everything normally. We were happy until I realized my son had been cut along the entire hair/neckline. Apparently the irritation and burning he gets normally had covered up the fact that he had cuts. I was furious, his was a simple undershave, yet they cut his neck! With his anxiety and autism, this DID NOT go over well. Now he says he never wants his hair cut again! I can't speak for the other hair stylists here, but we have personally been going to Fran for a couple of years now for our son, Ryan (now 4 years old). Fran is the best and we are so happy to have found her. We been to maybe 5 other hair stylists before finding Fran, and we're so glad she is conveniently located right there at Woodbridge Mall. What we love about Fran is not only does she give Ryan the best haircuts, but she is very sweet to our son and makes him feel comfortable. He can be shy at times, but with Fran he can tell her about his day, etc. And speaking of the haircut, his haircut is always exactly how we like it (not like good one visit and then mediocre the next). Went to get my sons first haircut and I was hesitant because he's only 10 months but he really needed a haircut. So I went in and I'm amazed by the patience the woman cutting his hair had. Our 3 year old son is on the spectrum with sensory needs and this was his first time getting a haircut at a professional place. We usually do it ourselves at home but he's going to be in a wedding so we decided to get it cut at Kidz Kuts. We called in advance to ask if the stylists had experience with special needs kids and were assured all their stylists would handle him with care. However, we were assigned to Jackie who was not good with him and she did not listen to us at all. We told her that he can't verbally communicate and he has a hard time with haircuts. She didn't ask how we wanted it but we made sure to tell her to keep the same style, just a little shorter and to clean it up. I said that he has a flat spot on the back of his head and to leave some length in the back so it's not as noticeable. She said ok but proceeded to cut it short and use clippers to take the entire back off. He was screaming and she kept speaking loudly to distract him which made him more agitated. She did not try to calm him at all. She rushed through it and only took 5 minutes total because it seemed she wanted to get the next waiting customer. She cut it too short all around and didn't even it out at all. She just globbed gel on his hair to hide how badly it was cut. We didn't realize the full extent of it until we were home and after his hair dried from a bath. This was a horrible experience for both our son and us. The wedding is 3 weeks away and I'm just hoping it grows out enough to style it. Here is a before and after. We won't be coming back here. read more

This is our go to place for kids and me too as adult. I have found my person Ms. D. Each person has to find their person. Ms. D knows the kids by their name what style of hair their prefer and she is gentle on them. After going through half a dozen or more disappointments they have found their hair cut place and person. I took my 2 year old son and 9 year old daughter here this past Saturday, and was pleasantly surprised. They each had different stylists, so they could be done at the same time. Both stylists were friendly and thorough. They have cute little car shaped chairs and TV's playing cartoons. My son is a total haircut-a-phobic so neither helped him, but I'm sure it would be great for most kids. My daughter has very thick, curly hair and the stylist did an excellent job and even blew it out (which thrilled my daughter). The prices are excellent, I paid $12 for my son and $18 for my daughter. Although it was crowded, we called a few minutes in advance and their was no wait time. I've been taking both of my sons to Dee since their first haircuts. My kids HATED getting their haircuts initially, but she works so fast with their moving heads...and it still comes out even! She has always remained calm, patient, and is always sweet to my sons even when they were crying their eyes out. now that they are older, they don't cry, but i still take them there for a great cut every time. I highly recommend taking kids here for their first haircuts...because they know how to work with scared kids. They give a "1st haircut" certificate with a lock of their hair. I think the bad reviews are for the inexperienced hairstylists, so ask for Dee or choose another name that got consistent good reviews here. read more

Its very normal for the kids to cry over their haircut, First this lady made my little one sit on a broken car kinda chair. I kept insisting that she would not sit by herself but on my lap ..still she went ahead . Later when my little one started howling, she asked me to hold her but did not have the courtesy to put the cover over me. So the hair was all over my dress and she cut the bangs in a crooked fashion. Since the baby was crying so much, i told her to hold on and i'll calm her down. I opened the bib, The lady had cut just one side, she thought she did a good job and left attending to her cell phone while I was calming the baby outside. At that moment i was so angry i just left the place. The place itself is extremely unhygienic and unkempt . The scissors are not in a sterile solution . I would suggest the Woodbridge municipal inspect this place and close it. They are supposed to be professionals with kids but it just did not seem like it, they seemed more in Eyebrows and threading in the side. read more

This review is only for Maria. I have been taking my kids there for 3 years and Maria is the best. When I initially went there, I had my son's haircut done by two separate people on two different occasions. They were lousy. The third time we went there, only because we were shopping in the mall, we met Maria. She gives the best haircuts for my boys and she is super patient. She also has a great personality, makes the kids feel at ease, and stays current with all the new dues. She is worth the drive out to the mall to get the haircuts but make sure to make an appointment when you head out there because she is always busy. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but my experience here was so bad that I felt compelled to write something. I've been to a few kids' hair cutting places and this was the worst! It was unfriendly and chaotic. We ere given to someone named Nicole who acted like she had never given a haircut in her life. She cut the same section over and over and over, with trembling hands...and it was incredibly uneven! I asked to have the haircut stopped because I couldn't take it anymore. There was no apology, nothing. They gave me someone else who didn't even try to match the length that the previous girl had cut! My daughter's hair was a mess. I'm not a really picky person, but I had to tell the woman to recut it shorter to match. She cut it straight across and then butchered my daughter's bangs. I was so angry when I left. The worst service I have ever had. The girl who helped horrible attitude problem. I walk in and she is just staring at me. A guy has to tell her to get up and help me, then she is getting frustrated because my son keeps moving, I had to tell her she need it to be more patient. Then she was only trimming his hair when I said hair cut, she gave me this look like I was frustrating her. I don't scoop down to people's level and that's the only reason I didn't make a big deal. She then combs his hair horrible to the back and I tell her to the side so she says do you want to do it! Adds gel and it was horrible. Never coming back. I went to cut my sons hair yesterday at JCPenny salon, which was a mistake (racist). My mom suggested we try Kidz Kuts. We didn't have an appointment and they were actually busy for a Friday evening. When we entered, the lady at the front told us where to go. Mona cut my sons hair and she was so nice to my son and she asked me questions about everything before she cut. She did a terrific job and I would highly recommend this salon for children. They have chairs that look like bikes and other fun things. They also cut adult hairs and do eyebrows. read more
