Then my hair was quickly dried . By that point it was looked absolutely fried. I don't doubt that the staff has great skills, but I don't appreciate when a hairdresser doesn't listen to what the client actually wants, and does what they think is best. Ann Marie is a friendly, warm person, but talks A LOT while working on hair. I can't help but think this distracts her. A friend of mine has been going here for years. I thought she was pleased with the service but after having recently moved out of state she told me "She always seemed to do what she wanted, instead of what I wanted." Enough said.

Had to wait a bit since Larry was running behind - but he gave me almost an hour of his time. See, I FUBARed my hair last summer when I was ambitious and impulsive and angry at my thick unruly hair... and attempted a very poorly done DIY pony tail cut. Like it looked like a three layer cake. Lots of regret but since I WFH and really let myself go after covid/kids, I never did anything about it until today. Well Larry done fixed it. He did give me a slight lecture (in Chinese so it felt less disappointing) but he smoothed and layered and thined my hair... and then blew dried it and made me all pretty again. Amazing. $55 was more than I expected but I could tell it was a challenge for him.

I have recommended several of my friends and they have also became loyal customers because Larry is just that good. I'm East Asian, my husband is White and the friends that I recommended were Indian and Bi-Racial... so Larry is good with all types of hair. Just show him the picture and he'll do his best. He's extremely skilled with the scissors and is careful to listen to exactly what you want. He's never cut off more than I asked him to. His salon is no frills, he's there to cut your hair, you don't pay extra for ambiance and that's why he doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We've always been more than satisfied. The review by Ariana was just ridiculous. The hairstyle that she asked for is curled, styled and colored. I've had curtain bangs and long layers before and my hair is past my waist. If it's not curled and styled, it's not going to look like a 'curled and styled' picture, which is why her hair looks the way it is... just cut. If you want it curled and styled, you need to pay for that because only a basic blowout is included in a regular wash and cut. Once it's curled and styled, it'll look closer to that picture. Also, why blur out your face? It's visible right on your profile. A lot of hair salons only accept cash, they would have to raise the price if they took credit cards because there are processing fees associated with that. Silly complaints by a one time customer. Larry is great at what he does. He wouldn't be in business for this long if he wasn't.

The color was completely different than what I wanted and when I was displeased he became very defensive. He didn't even have time for a cut but it was not like I wanted to spend any more time there. Paid $182 just to go to another salon the next day to have it fixed. The person who fixed my hair was so confused and told me that what I got was not a balayage and that the application was very messy and unprofessional. I had a root color and hair trim scheduled with Sue on 3/7. (Scheduling over the phone is preferred.) I arrived a few minutes early and was seated while Sue finished with another customer. The layout of the seating is socially distanced, and everyone was wearing masks. When Sue was ready for me, she had me place my belongings in a plastic bin at the booth I was sitting at. She took a look at my hair and went to go mix up the dye. She also came back with those plastic ear covers that are supposed to protect your ears from the dye, but I could tell they had been used on another client because they were stained. Another thing I found odd was that she didn't brush my hair (typically you would expect that for even color); she just kind of freehanded it. But, whatever, I would wait for the final result. After the dye, she walked away. No communication, no timer set. I just took out my book and started reading because I expected to be sitting for about 20-30 minutes. She returned around 30 minutes later and rinsed my hair. Before I sat down in the chair, I pointed out to her that I had a new piercing in my ear so she would be careful. She washed my hair and I think she left in conditioner (didn't rinse it out). Then she started towel-drying my hair and hit my piercing hard, causing me to bleed. She did apologize, but come on.... She brought me over to a drying machine and had me sit there while she worked on another customer's hair. At this point, I was nervous about getting my hair cut by her. I waited until my hair was dry enough and I told her that I changed my mind about cutting it. I didn't even want her touching my hair anymore. When I went up to pay, I heard her tell the guy at the desk taking my payment to charge me $80 in Korean (I speak and understand Korean but I don't look it.) I just thought that was an absurd amount of money to charge for a root touch up, and especially since she wasn't careful with my ear. I tipped her $10 because she did SOMETHING, but gosh it wasn't a good experience at all. I won't be returning.

I am here to tell you that Gina is that hairstylist. ABSOLUTELY AVOID HER. I came here a few days ago and received the worst haircut imaginable. First, I told Gina that I did not want to wash my hair since I had just washed it. Instead of telling me no, she pretended to not speak English. After my wash, she asked me if I only wanted a haircut....in english.... I was then charged for this wash. Then I showed her a picture of the cut I want, which is shoulder length. She cut my hair so short it's about 3 inches away from my shoulder. While she was cutting she seemed distracted by a conversation another hairstylist was having with her customer. I asked for curtain bangs and if I had not reminded her again when she thought she was done, she would have forgotten.
