I'm not the type to say anything but I asked for a basic French tip and the pink part was completely transparent, I could see the dirt under my nail. I returned today, a week later for a gentle microdermabrasion facial I booked with Christie and was serviced right on time. The spa rooms are in the back of the salon and the area is separated by a lace curtain. Once in the facial room, it felt like any other spa, not like a strip mall nail salon. Christie was professional, and excellent in providing the service. The added bonus of the shoulder, back and décolleté massage while the collagen mask baked was A+. I did need minor extraction and she was able to do them without using any tools. If I were a local, this would be my primary salon for nail and body care. Thank you Ellie and Christine! --four stars because the pedicure service has a few issues. Communication with the tech was a bit off-putting. She has wasn't able to explain the spa pedicure options and wasn't able to tell me in detail what each included. She kept referring me to posters on the wall. I requested a nail design that resembled melting ice cream, and Hank was meticulous in getting every detail just right. He checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy before curing each nail. The final result was so creative and perfect for summer. What I didn't expect was that the manicure would end up in a very special photo; my partner proposed that weekend, and the nails ended up being part of a moment I'll never forget. I'm genuinely grateful for the care and attention Hank put into his work. Had I gone to one of the other salons, I know I would've been disappointed. There were two ladies waiting when I walked in, but since I was getting my eyebrows done, I usually get them done within 10 minutes of coming in (getting a mani/pedi takes significantly longer). I had to take my sibling to the train station in 30 minutes, thinking that would be plenty of time to get my eyebrows done. So, I waited that amount. After that time passed, still not being acknowledged, I left. After an hour, I came back in hopes of getting my eyebrows done. This time one of the workers took my into the room and waxed my eyebrows in minutes. FINALLY! .... until.... i actually looked at my eyebrows... First of all: they weren't even shaped Second of all: they look more uneven then before they were waxed Third: She took of a huge chunk in the front of my eyebrow Now when I fill them in, it is extremely visible that they are naturally uneven. I have always been self conscious about my eyebrows (because they are very light) and this truly ruined a part of self esteem. The photo below shows my eyebrow filled in. Some were great for a short while but after some time started falling short of my standards. That has not been the case here. I have been booking services at Lavo for around 5 months now and my nails have never looked better. For starters, they have an all-star receptionist. She is so kind and helpful and on top of her job! They are a very busy salon and yet I never have trouble booking an appointment. They are as accommodating as can be. Even when they miss my phone call, I instantly receive a call or text back. I have been serviced by several nail technicians and they are all so very talented. I never bother booking with a specific tech because I know that no matter who I see, they will do an amazing job I was recommended doing soft gel manicures and it has been the best decision ever made. My career is very physical so i would often have a lot of wear and tear on my nails but not with soft gel. The gel polish never chips and my nails have never been stronger. I am usually able to go 4 weeks with my nails still looking great but ready for a fill. I love this salon and as long as I live within a drivable distance I will never change. They are cash or zelle/venmo only. So be prepared. And in my opinion they are charging fairly for services considering the quality of the work. Thanks Lavo!

I've been a loyal customer here for years, and this is the only nail salon I go to. This was the…read morefirst time I've ever been charged a $5 removal fee for the nail blush that was applied here just two weeks earlier. What made it even more confusing is that I was only charged for the removal on my toes. I had nail blush removed from my hands during the same visit, and there was no removal charge for that. Naturally, I asked about the difference because it wasn't consistent. The $5 wasn't the issue. It was the principle and the way the question was handled. When I asked, I was told, "We've always charged for that." That has not been my experience as a longtime customer. If this is the policy, it should be clearly communicated or reflected in the service pricing so customers aren't surprised. I've always enjoyed coming here, and I consistently tip well. More disappointing than the fee was the attitude I received for asking a simple question. Transparency, consistency, and good customer service go a long way, especially with loyal customers.
