My favorite salon around! I've been going here for 5-6 years now and have never been disappointed. They offer a wide range of services and have a good spread of hours to choose from. Everyone is very nice and the stylists are willing to answer questions to guide your hair journey :-) Every customer is different but they work to get you the look you want while considering your unique hair color, type, condition, etc. basically their goal is to make sure that you're getting a style that works for you. Bonus: they did a remodel during the Covid shutdown and the place looks amazing! read more

Nearly Two Decades of Absolute Excellence: I've been seeing Sherie since 2007, and after all these years I can say without hesitation that her skill level is truly unmatched. I've had my hair cut, colored, and highlighted by her, and every single service has been exceptional. Sherie has an incredible eye and and deep technical mastery. She's got a consistency that's almost impossible to find. I've never met anyone as good at what she does. Even after nearly two decades, I wouldn't trust anyone else. read more

Got my very curly hair revived with an amazing haircut! Their stylists are knowledgable about a lot of types of hair, and they are super friendly. The salon itself is clean and chic. Lovely all around. read more

Jenna M. continues to be one of the best-kept secrets in the Central New Jersey beauty business. I'm so fortunate that she chooses to stick with an affordable salon like Capelli - I think that says a lot about the great atmosphere they maintain there. (As far as Capelli itself, it's always super clean and bright in there, they seem to be well-booked without overscheduling, and everyone has a great attitude and excellent training.) Jenna's extremely talented and professional, and has a sunny, easy-going personality that's relaxing to be around. I'm updating my review because this is the first time I've really gone outside of my comfort zone with a haircut with her. I decided that I wanted to take a huge chop and go from having hair to the middle of my back to a chin-length bob. When I showed her the hairspo photos I had put together, her eyes lit up and I could tell she knew exactly what she wanted to do. She really put my needs and wants ahead of her vision though, and didn't go all the way short until she had showed me a cut that was a couple inches longer than what we ended up with. For working with someone for the first time that they're making a drastic style change, that was exactly the right thing to do. I looked so fierce when she was done that the woman in the chair next to me was voicing her jealousy and joked with her stylist that she wanted to switch hairdressers. I thought that was a pretty bold move for someone who was in a chair with a sharp pair of scissors near her scalp, but hey... choices. (The other stylist was unfazed. I got the sense that he and the customer are old friends.) I did my usual non-styling the following day and my hair did exactly what I wanted it to after it air-dried. I'm feeling like a million bucks and looking forward to my next trim! read more

I do not recommend this salon for modern cuts. I have short hair, neck length. I paid for a high level hairdresser. I got a haircut and styling at Capelli's and while the hairstyling was good the cut was not. My hair looked fine at the salon because it was styled correctly, but after a wash my hair looked like the bob I asked not to have. read more

Been going to Capellis for years Staff and owners are attentive and listen to what the customer wants.

I had my hair cut and colored here and was extremely disappointed. The stylist destroyed my hair. I gave her a chance to correct the damage, but the girl was inexperienced and incompetent; I had to go elsewhere. The people were nice, but I sadly cannot recommend their services. read more

First time here today and I'm very happy with the results. I came in for a 6 pm appointment that I reserved at 12:30 pm for a wash, deep conditioning, trim, and blow. From the front desk to the hair professional who took very good care of my hair today exceeded all my expectations. I have very kinky curly hair so it's very important to me that my stylist is knowledgeable with how to work through my hair type. Tiffany definitely knows what she is doing and I felt comfortable in her chair as she worked her magic. This was a great first time experience-beautiful salon and beautiful people. I will definitely return. read more

Went for the first time- love this place. Best short haircut I ever had- Philamena was amazing, took her time, asked questions , gave suggestions ....and I was thrilled with her styling talents!!!! I'll be back for sure . Thank you read more

I had an amazing experience from start to finish. Shout out to Maria and Gio! Both came together and achieved my hair goal!! They made it an easy experience and spoke to me about every step they took me through to get to achieve what I wanted. 10/10! Would highly recommend and will def come back!! read more

My former hair dresser, who was great, is now home with her 2 gorgeous children but she recommended Tiffany to do my hair and she's awesome. Tiffany listens and does what you want to do. She does great color, cuts, blow outs. You name it! Oh and Christa did my hair for my wedding and she rocked it out. All of their staff is so nice and accommodating. The owners Gino and Giovanni are exceptional. You can tell their employees are happy which is nice to see. Thank you Capellis for taking care of all my hair needs, all while making me feel a part of the Capelli family every time I walk through that door. Isabella read more

Today was my first visit. I needed to have my hair shaved off because it was falling out due to chemo treatment. Not only was my stylist Jenna extremely kind but so were the owner and entire staff. Everyone made me as comfortable as one could possibly could be during a difficult time as this. Jenna talked me through everything. They even refused to let me pay! But I would have paid any amount for the kindness I was shown. Will definitely come back when my hair grows back. read more

Still having my extensions and color done by Gino at the Capelli salon. And I'm still amazed at how wonderful he is and how great everyone looks when they leave the Salon. Lol and I look pretty good too! If you're looking for extensions or just a great cut and style this is the go to place! read more

I thought this was the ultimate salon for me. Cut, color. All amazing. Then after years of going there I called to say I would be late for an appointment due to traffic from West Orange. I was told no problem. My hairdresser colored my hair, rinsed it and let me out. No combing etc. After giving extensive tips for years etc this is how it is? I left her a tip for double the color and will never go back. read more

I've been coming here for about 2 years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Pre-Covid this place was clean, organized and Crista is just an amazing hair stylist and color artist! Post-Covid they have been amazing at asking for a phone call before entering, temp checks, and just overall cleanliness. I also like how attentive they have been to my hair and listening to what I'm asking for which is not easy to come by and I have not been disappointed yet. As long as they are around I will be coming here! read more

I absolutely loved my experience there. The employees were so sweet and very gentle. I don't really trust people with my hair but i'd trust this place a hundred times more. The prices were worth the service and the place was so clean. Would definitely go there again and recommend it too. read more

I love Capelli, specifically Gino. He goes above and beyond for his clients and is unbelievably talented, nobody does extensions close to as good as he can. If you go to Gino I promise you'll leave Capelli with hair that far exceeds the expectations you had going in!! read more

I've been going to Capelli for several years. All the staff do a great job and the newly remodeled salon is lovely. Covid procedures are carefully followed. read more

I love this salon! The staff has always been super nice and welcoming. If you are looking to get a hair cut - I highly recommend Crista. She is so nice and helpful. She really listens to what you want and also makes her own suggestions which I appreciate since she is the expert after all! read more

Worst nail job I have ever gotten done. It hasn't even been a week and my nails have begun to peel off. A quick gel manicure should not take a close to 2 hours to complete because the nail technician will not stop talking. Multiple times I asked how much longer but I was ignored and the tech continued to chatter away. I would ask for my nails to be fixed but I'd rather not have the nail artist waste another 2 hours of my time. read more

THEY CAN LOSE THE ATTITUDE !!! Staff are extremely rude - girl that answers the phone obnoxious. Treat customers like crap when you call to book. Last time went there checked in and they made me wait 45 minutes. Offered nothing- coffee / water etc which should be pretty standard stuff for a place that charges heavy. Sitting right there and I could see the stylist was free. The girl at the front desk did not even tell her I'm waiting - screwed up and finally had to call the owner ask why the delay, after which he apologized on her behalf. Stopped using them and they charge too much anyway and nothing special. Only reason I go there is the lady I use is good-Hiromi. The star rating does not reflect her work rather the salon n other staff! read more

BOOK NOW!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I absolutely love Capelli and will never go to anywhere else. Awesome atmosphere with an open layout and modern aesthetic. High quality products and hair dressers for the right price. The owners are italian angels. Everyone here does excellent work only- you will not be disappointed. One of the things I thought that was unique about the salon was the chairs and shampoo bowls. Not the typical/average chairs, very new and comfortable with arm rests and the shampoo bowls adjust to your height so you don't have to lean back into it and break your back. I've never felt so comfortable in a salon, staff is friendly and accommodating. They all truly care about getting you the look you want to achieve. I am so happy I found Capelli and will be a long term customer. How I found Capelli: I researched salons in the Rutgers area when I moved here for school and once I came across capelli I knew that it had to be italian (capelli means hair in italian) so I did some more research and found their website with pics and prices and read other yelp reviews about stylists who know how to cut/style curly/wavy hair which was what I was looking for because I have that hair type. Once I went and had a good experience I kept returning and loving my hair more every time I leave! read more

Came here today to get a foil highlight. Susan did a great job and the staff is all very friendly and considerate. The girl who washed my hair, I didn't ask her name tho, was very gentle on it, and I appreciate that. Place itself is nice and organized, not crowded nor noisy at all. Overall, highly recommend. read more

Capelli Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Piscataway, New Jersey

I've been going to Capelli for 18 years. And I'm only 32 years old, so hopefully that says something. I have some sort of thick, curly, nappy hair that only Giovanni can seem to manage. Whether I'm there every three weeks (like I should be) or it's been six months since the last cut, G and everyone else at Capelli makes me feel right at home. Highly recommended! read more

I made an appointment a little before the pandemic made everything closed down so my appointment was cancelled which is fine and understandable. Through Instagram I saw that the salon was about to reopen so I called and made an appointment which was going to take about an month and half because of all the people that were unable to get there hair done which is ok. The appointment time arrives I get to the salon and they tell me that they can do my hair because whoever booked my appointment did it for hair color which I stated to say while making the appointment but it turns out that for them it means just a root touch up. Mind you I'm not a hair professional nor I had ever visited this salon ever before to know this. So, they just told me to book another appointment which I hesitantly agreed to because of course I'm mad I had to wait all this time be turned back, when I went to get another appointment the earliest Saturday which is the days that I can book my appointment for was September 5th. So, yes you guessed 2 months and half from now, I said that I would call back for an appointment later, which is never going to happen. I was a first time customer and it was the worst experience ever. Advice for the salon; do like other salons when you book an appointment and ask questions about our hair and what exactly we are looking for, we are not the experts you guys are. read more

I tend to be very cautious about getting my extremely curly hair cut. Not everyone has the gift and know how, however I can say Kelly is my one and only go to person. After years of spending hundreds for unsuccessful haircuts in popular salons in NYC , I am thrilled I "found"Capellis salon. I've gone there for years (at least 15) for Hair Color, I now go for all of my hair needs. If you want to transform your look, this is the place to go. I highly recommend capelli's and the Senior hair stylist Kelly. It's not just a Salon it's like visiting a friend, they are just that good. You cannot go wrong with any stylist, they are all outstanding. My hats off to Capellis! read more

I recommend this salon. It's clean and prices are affordable. Got a haircut by Nicole and she did a great job. I really like how she styled my hair. Planning to get my hair colored next. read more

Capelli Salon - Nicole did a good job styling my hair! - Hair Salons Near Me - Piscataway, New Jersey

I went here once about 3 years ago for an emergency trim and blowout . To be honest did not like the results because my hair was still frizzy and the pricing was ridiculously expensive , plus my hair was short so it didn't take much time or work . I honestly wouldn't come back ever read more

Capelli is the only place I will ever go to get my hair done, and Erica is the only stylist I will go too. I came here a year ago, I had gotten the worst hack job from another salon. Erica was able to redeem my hair from the lost cause, and make me feel like a star. I love the honesty of her work, my hair continues to look amazing every time I go visit. Everyone is friendly kind and sweet, always filled with sassy fun attitudes. Listening to Erica's advice my hair is beautiful soft and amazing again I owe it to her and this salon for helping me. I tell everyone where I go and who does my hair, because every compliment I receive is BECAUSE of the work she puts into my hair. Thank you guys so much, I am forever a satisfied happy guest here. read more

This was my first time at Capelli's. It was easy making an appointment. Tiffany was my stylist and she was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back to to the salon and her in the future! My natural hair color is black and my previous color job looked just downright awful (orange and yellow, brassy, uneven). During my consultation, I was bent on going back to all black but Tiffany gave me the option of fixing the color up. I didn't think it could have been possible but she was able to color correct the mess into a gorgeous dark red that looked flattering, natural and just downright stunning. I felt like a whole new person. Apart from that, everyone at the salon is extremely friendly and polite. It was a very clean place as well. I recommend Capelli's to anyone looking for amazing professionals who know exactly what they are doing; you'll be in wonderful hands. read more

I needed a new hairdresser since my longtime person, a friend was doing my hair from her home. In addition she was an hour away. I had passed Capellis often and wondered about going. After Covid, I had no choice but to find someone else because my friend was not opening her home to doing hair. I have to say I was very pleased with my results. Jenna has been wonderful and did a beautiful job on my color and cut. I'm so glad to have a go to person and place now :-) Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! read more

The best experience I ever had at beauty salon. Very professional staff and when unclear of a procedure or a product, they ask questions. The owner is exceptional with his clients and staff alike. Gino makes you feel like you are part of his family, remembers you by name and remembers exactly the way you like your hair styled. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone who us looking for quality service. Anita Fultz read more

This was my first time coming here. I wanted a single process done to cover my grays and even out my color. Kristen was my colorist. She was super friendly and bubbly and helped with some questions I had on hair color. I liked her personality. Since I (and they) were short on time since it was a last minute appointment, I left with my hair wet and opted to blow dry it when I got home. After I was shampooed out, I immediately noticed how much richer my color was. I also noticed how I could not see any grays (unlike me using boxed color). The prices for a single process were pretty decent so I would come back for the price point and if it lasts long enough. I want to see how this color holds up so I will update my review in a few weeks! read more

I had a great experience here. I wanted a hair cut and color to cover the gray. I left very happy with the results. Sherrie was patient and friendly. She explained everything step by step. She helped me find the right shade as close to my natural color as possible. I found prices fair and the salon had a nice vibe- not obnoxious like some places. I already booked my next appointment! read more

I came for a blowout with Susan on Christmas Eve. My appointment was for a 11:15 and at 11:18 I was parking my car (I few minutes late I am aware), and the salon called me asking where I was - I found this a bit excessive and stressful. I understand the need for punctuality but 3 minutes on a cold, rainy holiday morning seems a bit much. The salon is very nice and comfortable, and everyone was very pleasant. The blowout itself was okay; I have had better, and I have had worse. Overall, it was an acceptable experience but I am not sure I would recommend it. read more

Kelly W has been cutting my hair for about 10 years and I've never had a cut from her I didn't love (in fact, for the last few years she asks me what I want and I say, "oh, you know what I like, just cut it however you want..." and she does just that and it's always fabulous). Kelly's done color, cut, and two perms for me over the years. She's super knowledgeable about haircare and will even explain to you all the details, if you're interested (which I always am). She's such a lovely person in general, and fun to chat with, and you'll be remiss not to take advantage of her superior knowledge and skills! read more
