Cooking my food, drink from the bar in hand, no mask. Cool
Cassandra W.

So here's what I think is awkward. Watched a cook grab something from behind the bar, and proceed to cook food, as slowly as humanly possible, drink in hand. For a place that makes all their employees wear masks, it's interesting that the person cooking your food (in full view with an open kitchen) had no mask on the whole time we were there. Also, nasty nasty bathrooms. The doors under the sink were wide open and MAN do i regret seeing under them. Nasty and slimy. Makes me feel so confident the food won't make me sick haha The actual food (which we waited over a half hour for) was alright but when we mentioned to the server that we felt a few pizza's took too long and we had mentioned already we were starving, she argued with us and told us we were wrong amd don't know anything about pizza ovens. Maybe don't argue with guests, ESPECIALLY when they're hungry.

We came in for lunch today and everyone ordered something different. The Greek salad, baked ziti and veggie pizza with marinara and pepperoni was good. The pizza was cooked well and had lots of toppings! They sat us quickly and took everyone's order. Our server was super nice as well. The only downfall was my nieces food coming out after everyone else's and her chicken nuggets being OVERLY COOKED. She noticed once she dropped them off that she would need to put in a new order. They turned out better the second time. Everyone worse masks and social distancing was being done as well.

Bailey was our server she was good. We ordered the special because the guy beside us had it and said the banana peppers were hot. Ours weren't and the pizza was just ok. We also ordered the meatball appetizer which was ok just not as warm temperature wise for me. My husband ordered the berry margarita which was a little too much on the lime but was ok. Im sure if we would have said anything about it they would have switched out.

Food was excellent but menu limited. Drinks were tasty & not lacking in kick, but small.

Must try!! Service is amazing! Amazing pizza!

The only complaint is that it was pouring rain and the handicap parking spot which they have was obviously put in place sometime ago. They have multiple. Metal sculptures, and obstacles in the way so you can't walk on the sidewalk from the handicap parking spot all the way to the front door they should really consider moving the handicap spot to one that's closer to the door as they've blocked off the doorway, which is right next to the handicap parking space

Saturday lunch when visiting the area for the day…read more Ordered wedge salad and six buffalo wings, along with a beer. The restaurant was quite empty, so service was quick. Food was good, although given my selection not out of the ordinary. The kitchen is a long way from the balcony where I was, and the restaurant has 500 seats. So I'm not surprised that some previous reviews weren't happy when it was busy. Plenty of free parking, which can be an issue in this town.

Twisted Tomato is a true hidden gem in Blue Ridge, delivering a polished dining experience that…read moreeasily stands out in the area. Arrival & Ambiance: Set slightly off the main strip, the restaurant benefits from a calmer, more refined atmosphere--no crowds brushing past the windows and the welcome convenience of a dedicated parking lot. Located on the second floor, the space opens to a spacious outdoor seating area, while the interior strikes a modern, upscale tone with low lighting, ample seating, and a thoughtfully stocked bar. Several wine racks showcase an impressive selection and set the expectation for a well-curated menu. Service: We arrived early for a reservation for ten and were seated without hesitation. Despite the size of our party, service was seamless. Our server was prompt with drink orders, knowledgeable about the menu, and exceptionally patient with questions. Throughout the evening, he checked in regularly without hovering, and not once did we need to flag him down--attentive, professional service executed exactly as it should be. Appetizers: We shared several starters, including the Lamb Lollipops, Heirloom Tomato Caprese, Momma's Meatballs, and salads. The lamb was a standout--perfectly cooked with a delicate char and beautifully complemented by pesto. The Caprese featured unusually large tomato wedges, but any skepticism vanished after the first bite; the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella were excellent. While I didn't sample the meatballs themselves, the marinara was deeply rich and flavorful, setting the tone for what followed. Entrées: I ordered the Scallops with Potato Gnocchi, and the dish was outstanding from start to finish. The gnocchi was pillowy and precise, the scallops expertly cooked, and the pesto cream sauce tied everything together elegantly. My girlfriend chose the Chicken Parmesan, made with fresh spaghetti and the same stellar marinara--well-seasoned, balanced, and clearly prepared with care. I also sampled both the New York Strip and Ribeye (each cooked mid-rare). While both were excellent, the Ribeye had a richer flavor profile. The menu notes that steaks are dry-aged for 30-60 days, yet the usual "funk" associated with dry aging was absent--a welcome surprise for those who appreciate the depth of dry aging without its more aggressive notes. Desserts: Dessert was equally impressive. The Crème Brûlée was creamy and flavorful, served with fresh, ripe fruit; while the sugar crust was slightly thinner than expected, it was still well-executed. The Tiramisu was balanced and properly textured--no soggy ladyfingers here. The Affogato was the clear standout, with high-quality espresso poured over vanilla bean gelato, creating a simple yet memorable finish. Final Thoughts: For two guests--one appetizer, two entrées, dessert, and drinks--the total came to $130 after tax and a 20% tip. Given the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere, the value is more than fair. Twisted Tomato delivers a refined, consistently excellent dining experience and is absolutely worth seeking out. We'll be back on our next visit to Blue Ridge without hesitation.

The gal behind the counter was very prompt and courteous and answered my questions about options on the menu. There is a big stove across the bar so you can see some of the cooking that gets done. The only issue with that is the heat...I didn't want my frosty beer glass to warm up while I enjoyed one of their local brews. I'd rather sit away from the cooking action. I ordered the crab cakes which came with coleslaw. The crab cakes had a nice sauce decorating the top of each cake. I asked for more because the crab cakes were a bit more bread filled than crab filled. I know I am spoiled with west coast Dungeness crab as you get a lot of chunks and not well flaked blue crab, but I really was hoping for more crab than I got for the money. The coleslaw was just okay. It was a nice mayo based dressing but lacked a tangy/sweet combo that I just adore. I am not impressed enough to return.
