Just moved to Mass from Florida so I've never gotten a car inspection before. They were very nice and VERY efficient. I brought my car in and it took them maybe 10 minutes total to get me back out on the road (they even added my front and back plates and took off my Florida plate for me). $35 bucks later I decided to bring in my husband's car to have it done there as well the same day. Online you list your Saturday hours being from 8AM - 3PM. However, when I went there today, the person working said you were closed when it was 2PM. Perhaps, you should update your Saturday hours online if they really are not 8AM - 3PM or have a conversation with the person who was working there today and decided to close early. read more

Drove all the way here for my inspection only to have the guys gossiping in the parking lot to tell me they weren't doing inspections today even though they were open and didn't have a single other customer. Came here at 10am on the last day of the month, and whaddaya know, despite 2 cars in front of me, I was on my way within 20 minutes! Holy cow, wish I had known about this place when I first moved to Massachusetts years ago---fastest, most painless and honest car inspection place around. Why? They are NOT a service garage, so they have no hidden agenda to make up crap to fail your inspection in hopes of getting more $$$ out of you. It's as hard to find an honest auto repair place as to find a virgin on a college campus these days, lol. Last year I had a horrible experience with an inspection done at Aris Auto in Somerville, which I'll detail in a subsequent review. And the year before that, another gas station garage inspection station on Broadway and McGrath Highway where the guy was obviously fishing for business while being slow as hell. Cannot recommend this place enough. 10 stars if possible! (Only con is that it's a little hard to notice due to lack of conspicuous signage, so I've posted a curbside photo below.) read more

I had a very good experience here. We pulled in with one car ahead of us and were able to wait in our own car. There was plenty of space, too (there are two empty parking lots next to Mass Inspection), which was important for me. When it was our turn, we pulled into the garage ourselves and then moved to the waiting room. Only one group was allowed in at a time. The mechanics wore masks, maintained social distance at all times, and the inspection was extremely quick, about ten minutes. The whole process took about 20 minutes. My only note: it wasn't clear to me whether Mass Inspection is cash-only or not. You might want to call ahead to make sure. read more

Wherever you go to get your car inspected, I guarantee this place does it better. The folks at Mass Inspection are friendly, efficient, and won't ever try to upsell you on something because all they do are inspections - and they do it well. When you drive in, there will be cones indicating where you line your car up, then a mechanic will come over and take your car into the garage for you. There's a small sitting area in the back, but you won't need to sit for long - it took them 6 - yes, SIX - minutes to do my inspection then I was on my way. I'll never go anywhere else! read more

Mass Inspection is where I get my car inspected, but the other night when it was 4 degrees I needed air in one tire. I had gone to other garages on my way home and the places with outdoor air compressors were all out of order due to the extreme cold. One garage with an inside compressor wouldn't help me & were unbelievably rude. I drove to Mass Inspection to see if they had air, and (after greeting me outside) instead of directing me outside or elsewhere, they pulled my car into the bay and filled my tire. Then they refused any kind of "little something" for their troubles, saying that they were just glad to help. Customer service like that made me glad to have already been a customer, and now a very, very loyal one. Thank you gentlemen!!! read more

Drove back from the suburbs to Somerville just to come here. No where else gets you in and out with such convenience. The guys here have always treated me with respect. I almost went someone else today, called around to a couple places where the people answering the phones were rude. Sucked up the drive from Burlington and am very happy I did. I searched online for reviews of this place and found some really negative ones. I've never had a problem here. Their waiting room is really clean, and the staff is friendly. I have been rejected twice for problems, and never had an issue getting my re-inspection. My only negative is that many people will need to make a U-Turn to get into this location. When I have failed, the inspector has always been clear to point out what the issue is. I saw some reviews on other sites where people said they were told they'd have to spend more money (like fix the problem) and come back. Obviously, they're not a repair shop, so if you need something fixed, take it to your mechanic. I needed to drive around another 150 miles to reset some of my sensors, and it was really no issue to come back. They don't have an online presence, and sometimes they don't answer the phone, but otherwise, a solid place to get an inspection done. read more

Got a recommendation to come here, but I won't be passing on that recommendation. First visit, my car failed for a minor issue that I suspected might not pass. Fair enough - I took care of it and brought the car back for re-inspection. Except the second time, they found another minor issue, and despite me holding an inspection report in my hand that said "Pass" for the item in question, they extorted me out of a few extra bucks with the threat of failing me on the previously passed item. Great experience at Mass Inspection! By far the most complete yet efficient and fast car inspection I have ever had. I arrived at 2 PM with 3 cars in front of me and was out of there by 2:45 PM. The inspectors were very professional and even inflated one of my tires which was quite flat. The inspection cost $35 and they accept credit cards. Overall, would highly recommend Mass Inspection for your car inspection needs. I will definitely be returning here for all my inspections! read more

The customer service was absolutely so rude, and very inconsiderate. I am a new resident to MA and needed to get my car inspected. The representative who took care my car came out for no more than 30 seconds and aggressively advised me to hurry up to get out of car and wait inside the waiting room. I did as he said, and when my car was completed he again told me to hurry up and leave because he was too cold. He was only in the cold for no more than 30 seconds. This place was a breeze for inspections. I showed up around 2:20 pm on the 1st of the month. There was a line of about 4 cars in front of me. I drove out of there, new inspection sticker on my windshield, less than 20 minutes later. The actual inspection was less than 5 minutes and the staff were very kind and efficient. Note that you'll likely need to make a U-turn on the main road if you're coming from 93, but I'd definitely come back here again. read more

I echo the other reviews: efficient, clean, no drama. Nice that it's not a repair shop too so there's no weirdness with "oh, you can get that fixed here" or "want to fix that dent? We can do it now..." offers. Also they inspect diesel cars with no trouble and don't look at you like you're nuts when you say your car is a diesel... been coming here for the past 3 years after it took trying 4 other places a few years ago who couldn't or wouldn't inspect a diesel sedan. My experience, I passed everything but tint on my back passenger windows. My opinion if you can see clearly that I will not pass inspection when I pull the car up and ask if you are open you should save me the $35 and say the tint wont pass. I understand if its something you couldn't see until you got the machinery hooked up but it seemed like my $35 was more important. I won't go back. read more

This place is awesome. I went to the Sunoco on Broadway and never had a worse inspection experience. I have been inspecting the same car for 10 years and never had a place fail me for wipers and tell me I had to buy theirs on the spot if I wanted to pass, what a scam. Discovered this place thats for one thing and one thing only: inspections. They didn't try to sell me anything, just performed the inspection. When my car couldn't pass because the previous owner hadn't performed an inspection in time, Giorgio went above and beyond the call registry and get my car's vin unlocked so it could get a new sticker. Went there when the owner was on vacation, big mistake the employee comes out takes your money right away and sends you inside to wait. meanwhile as I sat there the employees were joking around for a half hour before deciding to do my inspection. They failed it sue to a chip in one of the plate letters and immediately threw a rejection sticker on it. I left went to another station and they couldn't believe they failed if. If you want to wait a long time and deal with inexperienced inspectors it's your call, but for me it was the first and last time at that hole. As a side note I did some research and found out they were sued 3 times by failing passable cars and they lost. Just a precaution, drive right by them and go to another station. read more

Just got back from this year's inspection - with 2 days left in the month (have also come past the due date). Been coming here for at least 10 years. It is fast, clean, and respectful. Never had a problem nor have I ever witnessed a distraught customer. Hours are maybe 8-5 M-F, closes earlier on Saturday (currently 3), closed on Sunday. read more
