Back in May, my 2006 Jeep Wrangler had a cracked tailpipe and a passenger's side window (handcrank)…read morethat was off-track. I called Lucey's on a Thurs morning and was able to schedule an appointment within two days. My Jeep was ready by early afternoon on the day of the appointment, and the work was excellent. The new muffler and tailpipe assembly is reminiscent of the factory version that came with the Jeep when I bought it new ... not loud, and rattle-free when I hit a bump. And the passenger's side window now goes up and down with ease. Based on that visit, I brought it back a few weeks later for a new air filter, brake inspection, and emergency brake fix. Once again, all the work was completed professionally, efficiently, and, most importantly, correctly ... so in all cases, Lucey's (in particular, Stevie) did an outstanding job with my Jeep. And if you're comparing local repair shops, note that, before going to Lucey's, I made the terrible mistake of having the other NAPA Auto Care center in Melrose, Certified Automotive Disasters (Upham Street), do a substantial amount of mechanical and body work ... see my Google and Yelp reviews for details of that monumental debacle. Like any service business, honesty, integrity, and competence are paramount, and I found all three at Lucey's ... if you're looking for those qualities in a repair shop, call them. Thanks again and apologies for the delayed review.

No complaints from me just avoid busy days. But that it is for any business.

Pete's Garage came highly recommended by people on some local Facebook groups, but it's hard to…read moreunderstand why. I brought my car in to fix a few issues, but all they did was give me a fairly expensive oil change. Over the next three weeks, they continued to string me along by saying that they were developing an estimate for the repairs. The estimate started at $3800, which I agreed to, but then a different person I spoke with said that they had "forgotten" to add a repair to the estimate, and that the real estimate was almost $8000. While it seemed outrageous that the price would essentially double over one thing they "forgot", I was desperate and they came highly reviewed, so I agreed and asked when I could bring my car in. Without any hesitation and without consulting anyone, the person I spoke with said that the almost $8000 estimate wasn't the ACTUAL estimate, and that they wanted to "look at the numbers again". To be honest, it felt like they were just jacking the price up to see how much I'd pay. I was nothing but pleasant and respectful over the phone, and they had given me my car back after the oil change, so this was not a situation where they were finding new things wrong -- they didn't have my car. This place does not seem honest or reliable at all. They didn't even attempt to fix the problems with my car when I brought it in. They gave multiple escalating quotes and didn't stick to any of them. They didn't call when they said they would, or at all.

I'm updating my review to reflect the full experience with Pete's Garage…read more My car was towed in for a stuck gear shift. After nearly a week before it was inspected, my mom--who was in contact with Scott throughout--was told the shifter cable was BROKEN and quoted $600 for the repair, plus about $200 for the new part, taxes, an oil change, and other related expenses, bringing the total estimate to around $800. At no point was debris mentioned. We got a second opinion at a garage on High Street in Danvers. They inspected the car the next day and said they performed a thorough assessment. They found nothing wrong with the shifter cable. Instead, they found a large walnut lodged against the cable, along with other debris, preventing it from shifting. After cleaning it out and completing the oil change, the car worked perfectly. Total cost: $50. AFTER this review was posted, Eric contacted us and said the shifter cable had come out of position and might eventually break--information that was NOT shared during the original diagnosis or almost week of communication my mom had with Scott. Being quoted close to $800 for a repair that ultimately wasn't necessary, and only receiving a fuller explanation AFTER speaking out publicly, raises serious concerns for us about the thoroughness and reliability of the initial assessment

Overall pretty good bang for your buck. I was a little confused about how to actually pull in, and…read morethe workers helped me figure that out. I did the express wash and they ended upselling me on the leather conditioner so in total it was $105 for a car wash and the detail. The value is great! The main thing I think I'll have to mention which is unfortunate is some of the portions of my car like the cup holders and the door bins weren't cleaned properly and were still pretty dirty. Overall, I'll be coming back here but I'll make sure to tell the workers to get inside there. Not bad!

I think two washes a month basically covers the cost of a monthly package. They also offer detailing service. We have had a ceramic coat done on a prior car and it came out beautiful.

They were able to schedule me for an oil change the same day, which I thought was great! When I first arrived, I was a little confused about where to go because there were so many cars around and their garage is located in the back. They have a waiting area where you can sit while they work on your car. The family pictures on the wall honestly made me feel safe and like I was in a very homey place LOL. And $40 for an oil change (I brought my own oil and filter) is not bad at all in this economy! I had a good experience and will definitely continue bringing my car here.
