When I arrived, they in fact did not have it in stock. Allegedly (and what seems like a convenient excuse) someone just came in and purchased the last of it. The manner this news was conveyed was that it was my problem not theirs. Sure, it can happen. Respectfully I asked for them to deliver it to me once it arrived and they said only for a hefty charge. I questioned that given the circumstances and a manager came flying in like a bat out of hell. It was not the fact that they would charge me that was the problem, it was HOW he conveyed the message that sealed why I will never go back. Consider trying some empathy and working with customers to find solutions.

Pedro was particularly helpful and knowledgeable. He explained the pricing of the wood, and was able to help me pick the best species for my projects. I had a lot of questions, and he patiently answered all of them. He even helped me go through the scrap pile (which was very reasonably priced) to find the best pieces for me. He put up a top quality fence which was great for our two dogs. Recently, we added a big female husky who is an escape artist. Reuben was right there almost immediately this past fall to put up extra height on the fence where needed. And, just today he was there again within 30 minutes of my calling, when we were frightened when our wonderful Husky dug a huge hole to get out into our frozen pond again. Reuben and his men put two huge rocks to fill up the hole and hopefully block her escape in the future. And then he adjusted the gate lock on the fence before he left. First, one of the posts on the gates settled in the ground and the gate didn't line up properly. Second, a nor'easter blew out two panels from my fence. Each time, I called Steve and he was back within a couple days to fix it good as new, even though neither incident was really a problem with his construction. And even though the second time was over two years after he installed it. Most fence installers offer the same stuff at about the same price. Your chances of having some kind of problem with your fence are about the same no matter what company you choose. But with Numat at least you know that if you have an issue, Steve will stand by his work and respond to your problem.
