Went here for a weekday lunch. They have a lunch special to pick 2 or 3 options of soup, salad and a half sandwich. Definitely get the pick 3. The lunch portions aren't overly large. The tomato basil soup is so fresh and delicious and was my favorite lunch choice I got. Our server was attentive despite a full restaurant! They have a cute casual dining room that is the best for breakfast or lunch. They also offer dinner options for larger appetites. Mason Jar Kitchen is sure to be a crowd pleaser so be sure to check them out!

A nice suburb brunch option with brunch served daily. The scratch-made kitchen approach shows in the food, and the space is clean and comfortable with a good variety on the menu covering savory, sweet, and the classics. The MJK breakfast was solid, and the chorizo sausage had great flavor. One thing worth noting is that they don't have non-pork breakfast meat options, which would be a welcome addition for those avoiding pork. The nitro cold brew was decent, the service was good, and overall it's a reliable and well-executed brunch spot if you're in the area. Plenty of parking options since its in a shopping mall.

Breakfast on a Saturday morning. The space is really nice inside with plenty of seating. Eggs beneditct was ok, eggs cooked perfect though hollandaise sauce had a bit of a tang to it, super lemony, it was all you cohld taste, not our favorite. Steak and eggs was good as was the biscuits and gravy. Not the biggest portions around but you can tell they use really good quality ingredients. Service was good and there is plenty of parking.

Food is delicious! The place is so beautiful inside, lovely Sunday morning vibe with coworkers! We got assisted right away. Our food came out quick and yummy. I love their coffee bar menu! Will be coming again with family.

I'm so happy restaurant week announced their list of participating restaurants. I met up with my friend for dinner, great deal for $38 and 3 courses. Restaurant is spacious, I sat in the back dining area and noticed empty mason jars hung on the ceiling. Some of them were used as lights. The food was delicious! I was surprised how big my steak was and the seasoning was delicious. Plus we had to save room for dessert! Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

The Mason Jar gets very busy for weekend brunch so definitely make reservations if you can plan ahead. Service is usually friendly, and the restaurant is on the louder side during peak times. -- The Biscuit and Gravy is so savory and good. The giant cheddar and green onion biscuit is flavorful and goes well with the creamy gravy. -- The breakfast burrito is solid. -- The Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Corn Waffle is delicious. The cornbread waffle pairs so well with the rosemary-infused syrup and honey butter. The chicken tenders are standard. -- The Dubai Chocolate Croissant is awesome. The croissant itself is flaky and buttery, and the filling is crispy and creamy. -- The Caramel Pecan Breakfast Roll is massive and can easily be shared with the table. It's super fluffy and soo warm and gooey. -- The Crispy Chicken and Mash Stack is an absolute home run. The breading is so crispy and the chicken is salted perfectly. It's like an elevated KFC mashed potato bowl. I liked the mix of the sauteed veggies and the charred broccolini, and the fluffy mashed potatoes with the denser biscuit on the bottom. -- The Spinach Artichoke Dip is okay. The dip itself is pretty mushy and bland, but the baked pita is seasoned well and has a good bite to it. -- The chocolate cake is fluffy and very rich. The tres leches cake is on the denser side. Between the two I would go for the chocolate cake. -- The pistachio latte is creamy and not too sweet. The pistachio flavor is strong.

Great service at a place with true Minnesotan menu options, including Chicken Wild Rice Soup, Tater Tot Hot Dish and 10,000 Lakes Pot Pie. And I love that they serve delicious Sebastian Joe's ice cream. Ambiance is cute too, I especially love the patio on warm summer days.

Restaurant week was a DREAM at Mason Jar. Everything from the food to wine was a delight. Everything came out at good pace, food was cooked well as requested, wine pairings were great, interior was BEAUTIFUL, and service was splendid Need to come here on a regular day. I made a video for them on Instagram @xnoueats

Can I be honest? I was skeptical walking into The Mason Jar in Eagan, MN. I didn't know what to expect, but from the moment I was seated with Ryan, my doubts started to fade. Ryan was such a delight ... friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. He's heading back to college soon, so if you get the chance, stop by and enjoy his service before he's gone! It was a little too early for a cocktail, so I went with the lemonade... and WOW. I ended up having two because it was that refreshing. For my entrée, I ordered the Crispy Chicken & Mash Stack, and can I just say, blown away! Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and packed with flavor. The only hiccup? The biscuit was a bit hard to cut.. honestly, it was hard. But everything else, from the service to the atmosphere to the bites, was total yum. I'll definitely be back!

Came here on a busy weekday evening but managed to get a reservation last minute. Overall I was pretty impressed with the food especially for being in the suburbs! We tried a couple of the non alcoholic Mocktail drinks and they were pretty delicious. For my toddlers I got the chicken pot pie and for myself I got walleye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was so tasty! We also got cheese curds to share - but with 4 adults and 2 toddlers, it was a really tiny portion for the price. I felt like even the State Fair gives more cheese curds for the price! I think I'm just used to other restaurants that give a larger amount. The service was a little slow as well - felt like the food took a while to come out, but it was busy. They have Sebastian Joe's ice cream and they also have house made cupcakes which are delicious! It's comparable to other cupcake shops in the twin cities. The ambiance is pretty modern farmhouse with a neon sign in the lobby and rustic vibes throughout. Regardless of the wait time I had an overall great experience. I heard the brunch is great and would love to come back for that some day.

The Mason Jar is our favorite breakfast spot south of the cities! We both ordered new things, pictured is the biscuits and gravy with a side of rosemary potatoes. I was surprised to see the biscuit was underneath the giant scrambled egg and chorizo gravy but WOW was it delicious. Enough food to bring home leftovers. For a Saturday, they were not as busy as I expected so our table was ready right away! Shelly, our server was awesome. It's a great pick for a family brunch spot.

Went here for lunch! Place was hopping (had to wait in line a bit to get seated) and there was branded merch for the shop, so that was a solid indicator this place was gonna be good-- and so it was! Neat thing, you can just waltz on in and order ice cream, cupcakes, or macaroons at the desert counter to-go, even if you're not dining in. Great way to utilize space and get additional revenue, I dare say. They have lots of both indoor and outdoor seating; we opted for the later because it was such a nice sunny spring day. Looking at the menu it was extremely hard to pick what to get (absolutely going to have to come back to try a few more things), but I selected their pot roast. Oh man, it was amazing. I tore into it, savoring every bite. Portion size was good too, I actually took some home in a to-go box. We also chose to get ice cream for dessert, since they said it was "award winning." I just might believe that! The chocolate pot hole ice cream was violently chocolatey-- enough so to satisfy even the more die-hard chocolate fans. Highly recommend! Staff were all friendly, but a little slammed with the lunch rush on a Friday afternoon, so some aspects were a little slow (refills and such). We weren't in a hurry though and the ambiance was pleasant, so this didn't bother us. I especially appreciated the all-gender bathrooms. Many single occupant stalls, all upscale and clean. Love to see progressive bathroom availability for all. Only downside? No Dr. Pepper!

However, the entire patio is smoker friendly, so there was cigarette smoke smell that wafted throughout the entire meal. When we initially sat down the entire table was covered in cigarette ashes and a full ashtray, but they cleaned that up before our food came. (After we asked two wait staff) Service was slow and we did not get drink refills during our meal. The food was good and on our appetizers (potato skins, and garlic cheese bread) they did not skimp on the cheese as both were covered in delicious melted mozzarella. Pricing was very fair for the amount of food we received as well. TL:DR- good food at a good price, but sub par service and a Smokey patio

Perfect for a date night, friend catch-up, or solo Whiskey adventure, Volstead House is a vibe! We started with the A La Louisiane, a spirit-forward, whiskey cocktail with some funk from Peychauds and Absinthe. It was delicious and well balanced. We also shared the Glazed Carrots and the Parm Fries. The carrots didn't hit for me, as the glaze and sauce lacked a punch of flavor but the fries were crispy and delicious. First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.

This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great!
