Who would give this place anything other than supremeoooo. Excellenteeeee! Where you eating? I want to know. I'm having the fig panini!!! Fantastic and so creative. But the artichoke & Goat cheese is killing me I want to try everything. I luv this place. Acoustic guitar, complimentary champagne. It's like they knew I was coming. Their coffee is so good I'm drowning myself in this Latte I'm drinking it so fast. Atmosphere is so pleasing, I luv it too. My taste to a T. read more

Mason & Dixie - Southern Near Me - Grapevine, Texas

I ordered a spinach salad for lunch, while it was tasty, it was very small. The dressing was good, it had a little cheese in it, a very few pieces of pecan and spinach. For the price I expected the salad to be large enough for a meal. It was more like a first course. The menu was rather limited. It seemed like a place where ladies came to visit and nibble. I would not go here if I was actually hungry. read more

Great local place. Food was delish and service was great! Shout out to Melissa who gave us excellent service and recommended us other great business in the area. We tried the fig panini and also the goat cheese and artichoke panini both were very good. read more

Wonderful place for a ladies lunch or break from meetings. Food is delicious - we usually have the fig panini, grilled Cheese Sandwich and tomato soup. Besides the food, the restaurant is super cute and has a wonderful atmosphere. They also host events if you are looking for a place for a celebration or gathering. read more

What a cool place for lunch. We have been coming to Grapevine for years and this was our first time here. It was busy during the Christmas season but we were able to get a seat pretty quickly. Great service, fun menu and excellent decor. Next time we are in Grapevine this will be on our list for sure! read more

Have been coming here for years and food is always delicious. Service was exceptional on most recent visit.

So very disappointed. My husband and I love the quaint downtown Grapevine area and thought we had found a new place to eat when we are in the area. Unfortunately, the hype did not live up to the service and food that we ordered and received. We sat for almost 10 minutes before our waitress took our drink order; and, no, it was not a crowded time. My husband ordered the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese with Tomato Basil soup and I had the Chicken Salad sandwich. Both of our sandwiches were toasted to the point that it seemed as though we were eating a melba toast (very hard) sandwich rather than a toasted sandwich. The truffle oil on my husband's sandwich was overpowering and my chicken salad was undoubtedly the driest I have ever eaten. Service was slow and inattentive and the only time our waitress smiled was when she brought the check in anticipation of an undeserved tip. The food was overpriced and we left joking "where should we eat lunch?" as we left most of our bread due to it being so hard and were, frankly, still a little hungry. read more

Very friendly, staff awesome exclamation great place to hang out for lunch. I highly recommend this establishment!

Great service and friendly staff, very little Mom and Pop shop with good food. Only downside was that their food was really expensive.

My parents came over from Burleson for the GVRR and we came here for lunch. Best decision ever. The atmosphere gets 10 stars. Felt like I was in North Carolina again. I'm an interior designer so atmosphere goes a long way for me. Service also gets 10 stars. The young server we had was the most attentive, sweet and funny girl and she truly made the experience even better. Now down to the nitty gritty - I'm so impressed with the food that I'm shocked this place isn't more popular. We were there a bit early (around 11:45) so maybe it gets busier. The sourdough....oh the sourdough. Just git your butt over there and eat some southern comfort food wrapped up in a crusty buttery piece of sourdough.... We had the adult grilled cheese, one with game and one without, and the egg salad sandwich. All of it was fantastic. Highly recommended! read more

Great spot on Main St. in Grapevine. Very cool country-chic vibe and amazing food. Best bread pudding I've ever had. Tomato basil soup is also great. I highly recommend this place. read more

My family and I visited this restaurant last night and enjoyed our apps and meals tremendously. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which was delicious. My daughter ordered the meatball meatloaf, which wasn't hot when she received it but our server Alex was quick to rectify it. The atmosphere was pleasant, food delicious and service great. Highly recommend! The only con was that they had already sold out of the dessert that I wanted. However, my comp birthday banana pudding ended the experience on a good note. Will definitely go back again. read more

Mason & Dixie - Birthday dessert! Fantastic! - Southern Near Me - Grapevine, Texas

We had a lovely baby shower for a party of 12 at Mason and Dixie last Sunday. The owner was great to work with and was so very flexible! Our waitress, Melissa, was absolutely fantastic, and every staff member was so sweet. The food is lovely, very straightforward with good ingredients. And of course, the location in downtown grapevine is perfect. I will definitely be back for lunch and would absolutely host future events there. I'm sure it depends on how crowded the restaurant is, but we ended up having the whole room to the left pretty much to ourselves. Thanks again for the great afternoon! read more

This is the CUTEST little southern place with comfort food but light enough for lunch. The staff is extremely friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary homemade salsa & chips as an appetizer. The tomato basil soup is the BEST I've ever had. The egg salad could use a little just a little more flavor, in my opinion. I can't wait to go back and try a few other menu items! *There is a back entrance which is easy access from the parking lot behind the building. *If you are hard of hearing, I suggest going during slower hours as the restaurant is smaller and can get loud at times. read more

Great for casual dinner or a little date night just to get out. Chicken Fried Steak was fantastic. The goat cheese biscuit that it comes with is on another level. Alternate bites for a sweet/savory umami heaven, or set it aside as a dessert. read more

What a sweet little slice of southern heaven. The interior looks like a rustic, chic, Joanna Gaines dining room/ coffee counter / living room. It's adorable. It's usually a bit crowded on Saturdays and Sundays for lunch, but the staff is super friendly and prompt. Upon looking at the menu, I mainly see sandwich and salad items for lunch and wait, what is this? Pimento cheese?! My favorite southern cheese?! You never see pimento cheese at casual little eateries like this anymore and I'm just thrilled to see it. I order the trio with Chicken salad, egg salad and pimento cheese -- no bread, just the scoops please. But enough of my ode to pimento cheese, there's potted succulents on the table, detail-designed plates and doilies on the table and I feel so cozy inside. This is the perfect place for lunch and nothing more. My one annoyance is that they have strange hours -- sometimes open at night, sometimes not? It also doesn't serve breakfast, so don't get there early... it's simply lunch. Which also means no mimosas and no brunch and I feel like it would do so well as a brunch place! Mason and Dixie, please consider a brunch for your dear old friend Ashleigh :) read more

First time coming here! I found this little gem on Yelp! It was so good! We had pomegranate Mamosa's that were delicious! They brought chips and salsa to us that were yummy. We ordered two different sandwiches based off the owner and they both were delicious (we both shared). They have a tomato basil soup that was delicious as well. We definitely will be back... So good! I have been coming to mason & Dixie ever since it opened. I love supporting a woman owned business and the heart behind it. The food is amazing. Everything about this restaurant was amazing! the food...the atmosphere...the staff.... 100% recommend!!!

Linen napkins, vintage silverware, mason jars, chicken wire, wicker seating, and chandeliers create a Southern Bell vibe. This place is somewhere in between a tearoom and a luncheonette. I think this is a charming spot for those looking to lunch. HOWEVER! My honest opinion of the FOOD and PRICES is harsh. For those faint of heart, skip this review now. Beyond smoke and mirrors, I think nothing more of this place than somewhere to spend $10 for a poorly executed grilled cheese sandwich. Disappointment began with the bread. Barely toasted, the exterior wasn't golden, buttery crisp. The combination of cheeses offered in each sandwich, was a bit overkill to me. Brie, Muenster, and Gorgonzola are enough cheese all on their own. Why combine all three? What's more, why add fig jam? And if that weren't enough, crispy prosciutto is thrown in the mix for whatever reason. My thoughts: less is more when it comes to a grilled cheese. Tea and chips and salsa were YUMMY! Ambience and hours gets a 4 out of 5 Food gets a 2.5 out of 5 read more

The food is amazing and the service was awesome! Very cute place. I will be back for lunch again soon!

Overpriced fod what yoh get. Gereat staff. Just overpriced for the venue. We both left hungry after $48 final price

We LOVE this place and have been going since day one. Food is always amazing and the staff is super friendly. Even more exciting are the weekend dinners they've added. I've read some reviews and people need to understand this is a place to slow down, get off your phone, sit and talk with your partner, relax and enjoy life like how dining used to be. There are plenty of fast food places around but if you want great home cooking in a relaxed atmosphere where no one is in a hurry to feed you and get you out the door then this is your place. read more

We chose this small restaurant because it's located on Main Street in Historic Grapevine, an area my sister and I had both wanted to visit. Our favorite items were the cheese platters- warm goat cheese and figgy Brie. Delicious! We didn't leave a crumb on the plates. A friend ordered the meatloaf meatballs, which she shared with me. I didn't care for the texture and seemingly undercooked meat, but she enjoyed it. My sister ordered the shaved Brussels sprouts & goat cheese salad. I enjoyed the crispy greens. She thought it too dry. Overall, the atmosphere was refreshing and the service friendly. I would go here again, but will stick to the cheeses and maybe try their homemade chicken or egg salads which they are known for. read more

SUCH A GOOD BREAKFAST! shannon was a queen for taking our large group on short notice

Very nice service. Very polite, and they apologized for a wait, but it really wasn't a long wait at all. Our table was tended to very well. The prices are pushing obnoxious, especially for what you get. Sandwiches are like something you'd pack in a kid's lunch for school. Yet, they're priced like steakhouse burgers. The salad was like the dropped leaves of a houseplant. It was low quantity and quality. The plating didn't even show any effort. Chicken salad tasted quite weird. But not in an interesting way, more like in a way that I'd rather not have tried. Again, I thank our waitress, but I will not return. read more

Every time I come to Mason & Dixie I'm blown away. As an out-of-towner I often dream of this food. The bread pudding knocks my socks off. Was hoping to try the chicken fried chicken but was given the limited lunch menu. All mostly sandwiches and salads with soup. Ordered the salad trio which is 13.99. Served with a limited amount of greens on a small plate. Last time I checked lettuce was fairly cheap! Maybe they were trying to make it look like a lot of food??? Chicken salad was the best of the three, followed by the egg salad. The pimento cheese was dense and predictable. Could have been helped with some kind of sweetness maybe. Waitress forgot to bring the crackers that came with the trio and brought them when I was almost finished. Ritz crackers - boooorrring. For lunch there are several better places to go to in the town. Maybe they up their game at dinner. read more

This place was terrific. I am on the road a lot for work and this place epitomizes the term "home cooking". I ended up eating dinner there two days straight. Highly recommended! read more

This is a cute restaurant but it is very disappointing in pretty much every way. It took several minutes for someone to notice us to seat us...they were standing 10 feet away at the bar. Once we were seated we noticed that they had the a/c cranked. It was about 70 outside and like a meat locker inside. My poor old mother had to have one of their community blankets wrapped around her! The menu isn't very big - pretty much a variety of grilled cheese or chicken salad sandwiches. I ordered the fig panini, my mother the chicken salad, and every one else got either the grown up grilled cheese or the classic grilled cheese. The chicken salad was nothing special. The fig panini had pretty much ZERO fig, some cheeses, and the teeniest tiniest paper-thin sliver of prosciutto that didn't even cover the entire piece of bread. All that and boring chips for $12. We had to ask twice for pickles. The cheese sandwiches came with a tomato basil soup that no one liked or ate. It tasted like an oddly sweet marinara sauce with pepper and was very off-putting. The drinks are served in kitchy mason jars. Great for a flower arrangement but difficult to drink out of considering they didn't give us straws. We all shared the bread pudding, which was decent but had so much brown sugar on it I thought I would go into a diabetic coma right there and then. The cappuccino was fine and helped balance it out. Oh, and if you have any desire to fix your hair or lipstick in the bathroom you better be 6'2" because a giant designed their bathroom mirror placement. Come here for the cuteness but don't stay for the food. read more
