The vegan turkish coffee was AMAZING, it had a strong coffee flavor and I loved the texture, which I can only describe as stretchier than most ice cream I've had in the past. The vegan saffron rosewater pistachio on the other hand was just okay, I did really like the unique flavor however it was quite icy instead of creamy. I'm not sure if I just got unlucky, or if because this flavor is water based or something the texture is different than the coffee flavor I got. They have a ton of vegan flavors, with both ice cream and sorbet options. I believe they offer vegan versions of all of their signature flavors which is nice. It's so cool that they've kept the sign with the shamrock (well, at least one - the other one must've fallen off) even though it makes no sense for a Persian-themed place. I had wanted to try some of the unique flavors here for years and finally had the opportunity when I was in town, with a little time on my hands. The parking is great - plentiful, and only 1 homeless guy wandering around. The tastings were welcome, and helped me decide to get 1 scoop lavender and 1 of the saffron pistachio something-or-other; both vegan. Unfortunately, the consistency of both was like thick uncooked flour and water. I've had vegan ice cream many times and it can be done to almost perfectly mimic the texture of the real thing. Sadly, these did not and tasted like they had ice burn from sitting for so long. But that's OK - that may be just my perception. What bothered me is that my 2-scoop cup, listed for 7.99 on the menu, rang up as 8.27 plus tax, coming to 9.08. I imagine this is their credit card upcharge (which I thought had been outlawed in LA County. No?) but there was no signage indicating this, so I was ripped off. Parking was surprisingly easy and there was plenty available at around 6:30pm. We walked in and had the shop all to ourselves. They have a laundry list of unique flavors like creamy rosewater, herbal snow, orange blossom with pistachios, persian cucumber, and many more house specialties. However, they are known for their saffron rosewater with pistachios. I decided to get baklava special with dulce de leche ice cream topped with a baklava loghmeh. The baklava was really yummy and the cardamom and pistachio flavors really came through. It took me back to our time in Greece! The dulce de leche ice cream was also really tasty. Smooth, creamy, and hit the spot! My other half also got their most popular flavor (saffron rosewater) and lavender. The lavender was really strong and floral for me (I'm not a big fan of floral flavors), so I wouldn't be able to eat a lot of it, but my husband really enjoyed it. The saffron rose water was something I've never had before and was really unique and tasty. Overall, this was a fun, quick stop and everyone enjoyed their ice cream. They are known for their floral Persian rosewater ice cream, and I decided to go with 2 scoops for 8 dollars(which isnt bad these days considering how large it is) of Ginger Ice Cream and Orange Blossom. Both were very flavorful, but the Ginger was a highlight as it tasted like it was made from real ginger juice. It was strong and if you like intense ginger, this is for you. If you dont, I would pick something else. Service is always good here, and they are good about samples. Its clean place and has a few tables inside and outside. They make their famous wafer sandwiches for 5 dollars here with any ice cream you want(known for the pre-made rosewater-pistachio ones at many middle-eastern and persian markets in LA) and other novelties.
