This was my first time visiting Mash'd at all. Stephen, our waiter, was very helpful and made some great suggestions. The portions on most brunch plates are enormous so we gave him 3 choices and told him to surprise us. He chose the French Toast, which was delicious. The bread was soft, the cream cheese butter, tangy, and the syrup a perfect compliment. The blood orange, $2 mimosa was tasty as well. It is quite loud inside the restaurant, so don't plan on quiet conversation, but the food is tasty. I will be back to try something else. read more

Nice brunch menu has typical breakfast fare with a twist. I had the chicken and biscuits covered in Chuck Norris gravy sans the eggs. The chicken and biscuits have lots of bread with very thin pieces of chicken. It's loaded with a very spicy gravy. I'd recommend getting the gravy on the side. The tiny mimosa's are good. This is a great place to go with friends and enjoy a find night out. There are plenty of tv's to watch sports, and when it's warm enough, they can open up windows for an indoor, outdoor patio. I met up with the girls for a friend's birthday, and all very much enjoyed what they got. I personally got just an appetizer, the queso with chorizo and fried chicken, and it was really fun! It had a sweetness to it that I really liked and the chicken was also yummy! I would order this again. The table also got guacamole and I loved the chips! They were homemade and crispy. I got the jolly rancher to drink, and while I enjoyed it a lot, I just don't think any of these drinks should be $10+, so be prepared to spend some money, or schedule to come during their happy hours, which happen twice daily! Really enjoyed the brunch here with my girlfriends. We went on a Sunday around 2,it was still very much crowded but I had made a reservation so we were seated within 10 minutes. Ordered a carafe of the classic orange mimosa. Did not like that the drink was not cold whatsoever but my friends and I just threw in a few ice cubes from our water glasses. I have had the french toast and the motor city pizza. The french toast was really good very sweet though and I only ate 2 of the 4 thick pieces of toast. The other time I visited I shared the large pizza with my friend and we gobbled it up.Also have tried the baby back rick sandwich it has a little kick but the meat was perfectly cooked. The fries were "don't need any ketchup" kind of good! Not usually a fan of deep dish pizza but I really liked this one! Recommend the bootleg mule and illegal endeavor. We stayed long enough for the happy and the endeavors are only $4, a major steal! I've been here twice and both times have been pretty good.We had great service and the food was really good too.I recommend the shrimp volcano for an appetizer.This last time we sat outside due to being a party of 8 and no available tables inside.Being that it's summer I thought it was going to be terrible but most of the patio was already in the shade and there are fans.Also they have the bar part open from the inside so you do feel some of that cool air from time to time. AMAZING! Met up with a friend for a brunch here at Mash'D, and it was such a great experience all around! First of all, we made reservations ahead of time. Do that, and save yourself a long waiting time. Second, they have a parking garage that is super close to all the shops in that area. So enjoy the free parking and avoid driving around and around. Third, and this is important: be strategic about ordering. The portions are generous, so plan on sharing or ordering different entrees and sharing. I ordered the chicken and biscuits and the biscuits are pretty big in size and full of dense flavor! They are cheesy, crunchy and offer a perfect foundation for the crispy fried chicken on top, that is covered with the Chuck norris gravy. This place is super duper yummy! We were planning on eating next door but saw this place and wanted to try it out! The avocado bomb salad adding the steak is PERFECT! My husband got the meatloaf that had a unique flavor! The server saw that "over wheeled mother" look in my face fighting with a very opinionated toddler and was very helpful. The food was OK, but we were led to believe that ALL of the alcohol on the menu was half priced during happy hour. In fact, right after mentioning happy hour, the waitress pointed out the moonshine menu. Moonshine apparently is NOT part of happy hour, or we were billed incorrectly. For two small appetizers and a couple drinks, we ended up with a bill over $100... It wasn't busy at all, so I'm pretty sure we weren't billed incorrectly. I have been there several times and not once have been disappointed. The wait on Sunday's can be a bit long and the bar gets full quick. You're best bet on weekends/Sunday's is to get there as soon as they open to grab a seat, especially if there are 4 or more of you. Service is always quick and the food is delightful. We ordered a couple drinks - we got there just before 6 and the girl who seated us made it a point to get our drink order in quickly so we could get the happy hour deal. The table wobbled a lot and the napkin stuffed under the foot wasn't enough to keep it stable so I engineered my own wedge from some paper (it worked). When seated the waitress was pretty attentive and was quick in bringing out our orders. She was clearly busy and had a lot going on so we didn't bother her too much. When we did, she was helpful and made no mistake. The food was basic and wasn't as well executed as I would have liked. I don't recommend getting the "Bulls in a Blanket" as it's just a hot dog in a crepe with cheese. I would, however, recommend any of the four flavors of $2 mimosas and the Migas (3 breakfast tacos). I like the thought behind the dishes but I would argue that the quality of the food for the price is definitely lacking a little. The clientele here consists of the usual brunch crowd and unfortunately the tables are close and you'll hear your neighbors gossip pretty clearly. It's loud in here so if you're looking for somewhere quiet to eat I'd go elsewhere. The rim is of course a beautiful, new area and this place fits in with the clean cut, gentrified nature of its surroundings. Next time I go here I'll likely eat elsewhere before and go for the mimosas. The quick service and drinks are the saving grace of this place. So came to check it out and was very impressed. Took us forever to decide what we wanted to eat cause everything sounds amazing. Finally decided on the deviled eggs and some salads. Ordered the AI and when it came out the grilled pineapple and avocado was missing. However not going to complain because when I noticed and brought it up to our server she said sorry and brought the items out. While we were chowing down on the amazing food. I gotta say, if you've ever sipped syrup, aka Codeine then you will enjoy the MIDNIGHT MOON BLACKBERRY. The simple syrup combined with blackberry color and hard liquor will leave you feeling smooth. Want something less sweet but still black? Try the Old Smokey Blackberry. LADIES, the apple pie moonshines are for you. You'll love to sip on them but don't be surprised if you can't finish them. FOOD: Ah, yes, food. For starters you are going to need to order queso. I know this isn't a Mexican food joint but they put meat in their queso! That's the only way to go! What a great place! We ate there last night and I'm pleased to say they have a good thing going. The staff was so attentive and did a wonderful job of take care of us. Management came by and asked how things were and thanked us for being there. If they keep this type of service up they will do well. The food was good and came out quick. I had the privilege of going to their soft opening with other foodie friends of mine about a week ago. The ambiance is great, moonshine everywhere with a chic rustic feel to the restaurant. Most of their drinks are made with moonshine, so be prepared to call an Uber if needed! The drinks are totally delicious, I LOVED the berry lemonade! They have a great selection of beers as well. The menu is highly eclectic. It ranges from absolutely delicious goat cheese dip, to fried chicken and a seafood shake up (with crab legs, shrimp and corn). The food is really kind of all over the place, I couldn't tell you what type of food because there's just so many different kinds. I think this is a great place to take people that can't decide on the kind of food they want, they've got a little bit of everything. We went very recently when it was not busy at all. The service was terrible. We stood in the front a while before we were acknowledged and seated. It was another 10 minutes before someone even came to table. We ordered appetizers and food. They came out the same time after 20 minutes. The food is certainly not how I remember it. I have eaten here numerous times. The pepperoni bites had little to no filling, it was more breading. The mixed drink I ordered tasted terrible. The chicken and biscuits with a side of potatoes, all cold. The only thing hot was the gravy that was gotten on the side. There was very little chicken on the plate and the breading literally fell off the chicken as soon as I touched it with a fork. I showed the waitress, and she still brought the check with the most terrible plate on there. I should have taken a picture. It was unbelievable. The whole experience was a huge disappointment. Y'all... the Bulgogi Tacos are out of this world. Seriously, if you're a bulgogi fan, you have to try them! I wish I had taken a picture so everyone could see how light and fresh everything looked, but alas, I gobbled them up before I even thought about it. I tried their chicken sandwich and the gf bun was mediocre but that's all gf bread. The sandwich itself was great. This place was God Sent!!! The food is very unique and reasonably priced. My meal consisted of mashed potatoes covered with scrambled eggs and cheese with a drizzle of sourcream and bacon. Definitely a great combination for brunch! $2 mimosas on Sunday's here just made my day even better!
