My boyfriend's family eats here all the time (they're Pakistani so this has a stamp of approval). There's soo many sweets piled up, tons of colors, looking well stocked and amazing. When I stopped in to pick up our order, new trays of meats were coming out all the time, looking mouth watering. Kebabs were solid & the lamb curry lunch special is hefty for the price, with tender lamb to top it all off. Part of our delivery order left a little to be desired (per my boyfriend) with the poori (greasy and a little sad), halwa (he mentioned it looked like it'd been sitting and wasn't sweet enough). The chanay was solid. The carrot halwa was to his standard lol, and pretty good! Prices cheap, food authentic, & tons of variety. Big stamp of approval!

And this is suppose to be daal makhani

Possibly the worst Indian food I've ever eaten. The lentils - daal makhni was so dry, tasteless and stale. The butter naan was actually a roti without any trace of butter. I ordered the samosa - it said two pieces but got only one. Will never order from here again

Stepped into this restaurant I was immediately pleased by the different types of foods that were available to me and my company. I was immediately assisted and I love that type of service. I chose to have the spinach and chickpeas salad with rice it was absolutely wonderful. My friend had lamb over rice and she enjoyed it. So much flavor in the spinach. I had to take pictures of the other foods that were available. I never saw spicy Nan bread before until I witness it here. I was tempted to try but trying to stay away from too much carbs perhaps on the next visit. And yes I will be back. I didn't like the layout of the restaurant. But I was hungry so I didn't pay too much attention to it other than it's a small place and it can use an upgrade. Otherwise the staff was on point handling of the food was sanitary and that along with delicious Taste of the food deserve 3 *.

A bunch of different stuff. All was delicious

Not that I am an expert on this type of cuisine but I thought it was delicious. Some of the food we had a little spice to it but it was not overwhelming. The nan bread was delicious as well. The chicken was well made. They had this other kebab type things that were full of flavor. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I frequently go here when I am in the mood for authentic Indian food. I find that the flavors and prices are better than those at the places that are tagged as Indian Restaurant. Aside from taste the way the food is sold is also different. You pick the size container you want for a certain side and you buy the side. Typically I opt the the smallest container and pick four different sizes this ends up costing $12 including the fresh naan. I always opt out of the salad because I don't care for it and I never buy the rice since the bread is better. I have never stayed to eat because the place seems more like a locals spot .... If you visit you will understand what I mean. Most recently they started accepting cards which is definitely an added benefit. Service can be a little slow hence the 4 stars.

Great find in a neighborhood where there are few restaurants and fewer late-night choices. Mashallah is clean, well lit and friendly. The food is well spiced, and you will find good variety, big portions, all for a small price, open 24/7. -1 star because the food is held cold in trays and heated for each customer, resulting in some cold spots.

I got a giant undercooked pancake and here I am thinking I ordered Naan.

Spoiler, we never made it to any of the other locations because we were so full. Jalsa provide fare from all over India and makes paneer in house. They have plenty of seating and can take care of large catering parties. As is customary, they have a Sunday lunch buffet. We came on a rainy Saturday afternoons and there weren't many patrons dining. We went with the masala chai, mango lassi, lamb kati roll, and a ghee masala dosa with gun powder, upon recommendation. -The masala chai was perfectly blended, with sugar on the side to sweeten to one's liking. -The mango lassi was really good, but a bit thicker than I'd like; good tartness. -Lamb kati roll was really good, larger than expected. The flavours were well balanced and the paratha had a good flake to it. There was A LOT of lamb inside. -The ghee masala dosa was the shining star; it must have been 2.5, if not 3 feet long. The edges were super crispy like a chip, and the masala potato pilling was delicious If I could do it all over again, I'd only eat here and not eat ahead of time, since this was enough food to fill a party of two (maybe add in a samosa or two). I'll definitely be coming back to try more fare.

We started with samosas, two types; vegetable and chicken. These savory pastries were packed with well season veggies and chicken. The crust was light, flaky and perfectly crispy. The Lamb shanks was so tender, the meat fell of the bone. The spinach and paneer, a homemade cheese, paired well with the shank and vegetable fried rice. This spicy concoction cut through the heaviness of the meat dishes like a butter knife. The combination of flavors complimented each other and balanced the meal perfectly. The chai tea is a must. The original, smells and tastes like warm caramel. The "Kashmir chai" is an acquired taste. Less flavor intense than the regular chai but the pretty pink color adorned with shaved pistachio was a hit for the kids. If you still have room, carrot pudding, basil seed sherbet, assorted fudge and sweets are at your fingertips. Prices are reasonable, won't break the bank. I guarantee you will enjoy the experience.

A true institution in Little Pakistan, Lahori Chilli is an iconic restaurant nestled in the very busy row of neighborhood staples off of Foster Ave. This is a no-frills place serving up every day Pakistani cuisine in a Homey setting. There are booths for your comfort or an adjacent dining hall if you're here with family. They have some hot items almost every day that you can choose from, visible through the greasy glass of the display case. The sweets here are very very good, I particularly enjoy their falooda. Recently also sampled their gulab jamun, and they were to die for. Another dish they are super well known for is their battered masala fish fillet. This is something you have to dine in for to truly appreciate. It comes piping hot, crispy, and with just the perfect amount of masala dusting on top. A true culinary gem if you ask me. It has no bones and the crispy batter is the lightly crunchy without being super oily or greasy like a lot of other fried fish. The fish inside is moist, has no smell and is flaky. It is absolute perfection. Other things I absolutely love on their menu are their chicken seekh kababs and their kofta curry. Those two are usually my go to when I'm ordering food to go or delivery. I do want to give some feedback on a few things though. First of all, it's a little annoying that all the meat dishes are chicken only like I would like to see beef or lamb chapli kabab and seekh kabab. Why is the keema aloo chicken only? I wanna see lamb keema and beef keema on the menu. I also have noticed with some of the items that are in the buffet, they can have that smell sometimes that tells you that the food has been sitting out and not kept at the recommended temperature. A lot of food I order from the glass case goes bad the next day. I need the owner to implement better food safety. We also need more cleanliness around the dining area and spruce up the entrance a bit so people who are not local and privvy to desi food can have a clean and quality hole in the wall dining experience. Either way this restaurant is a place that I continue to frequent year after year. Thank you for feeding and nourishing this community.

We ordered the sweet and sour eggplant as an appetizer and struggled over decision paralysis before settling on chicken tikka masala and a mango lassi for her and lamb vindaloo for me, plus a bread basket. Our waitress, seemingly oblivious to the notion of profit, warned us we were ordering too much bread before saying, "You could always bring some home," and explaining that the bread basket would consist of our choice of four different naan. More decision paralysis! We picked plain, garlic, onion, and peshwari naan. The eggplant was good, breaded and fried and served with cilantro and tamarind chutneys. Our entrees came out soon after we finished. My girlfriend enjoyed her chicken, and my lamb was tender and spicy without being overwhelmingly so. Each entree was accompanied by a portion of basmati jeera, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The naan were all good, and my girlfriend and I both agreed the peshwari naan was the winner of the pack. The sweet, nutty bread complimented and contrasted the spicy curry of my lamb vindaloo, and my "best bite" was mopping up some of the sauce with it. Sure enough, we had leftovers both of our entrees and 3/4 pieces of naan (two guesses as to which got eaten on the spot), and lunch the next day was delicious. Stumbling distance from the 7 Ave F/G.

I know Indian cuisine varies from region to region, household to household, so there'll always be variations in traditional dishes from restaurant to restaurant. Lots of favorable reviews on Yelp for this establishment, so it comes down to personal taste, and this didn't quite ring the bell for me. The Tandoori mixed grill was, well...I'm pretty sure leftover from the day before and reheated--at least portions of it (the chicken, for sure). There was Salmon included (not typical in a mixed grill). Samosas arrived still cold inside, which tells me they were either frozen or made a day or two in advance, or worse yet, not made on the premises and bought from a restaurant supply. Whichever, they were passable at best. The Naan was good, for the most part. The onion Naan was disappointing (onions were minced and only sweated, which made the bread too sweet. The onions should be caramelized). Overall, although the food left a lot to be desired, I enjoyed the dining experience. It's a comfortable place and the staff are very nice. But, that said, it always comes down to the main event--the food.

The samosa appetizer was excellent, and the chutneys were less watery than a lot of places. Bowled a perfect game as far as I'm concerned; I'll definitely be back.
