When I stopped in to pick up our order, new trays of meats were coming out all the time, looking mouth watering. Kebabs were solid & the lamb curry lunch special is hefty for the price, with tender lamb to top it all off. Part of our delivery order left a little to be desired (per my boyfriend) with the poori (greasy and a little sad), halwa (he mentioned it looked like it'd been sitting and wasn't sweet enough). Stepped into this restaurant I was immediately pleased by the different types of foods that were available to me and my company. I was immediately assisted and I love that type of service. I chose to have the spinach and chickpeas salad with rice it was absolutely wonderful. My friend had lamb over rice and she enjoyed it. So much flavor in the spinach. I had to take pictures of the other foods that were available. I never saw spicy Nan bread before until I witness it here. I was tempted to try but trying to stay away from too much carbs perhaps on the next visit. And yes I will be back. I didn't like the layout of the restaurant. But I was hungry so I didn't pay too much attention to it other than it's a small place and it can use an upgrade. The food is great but the location is terrible They are on the same block as several other restaurant which are almost exactly like it The best items are their naan, which they cook fresh prior to order and their butter chicken. They also have a huge assortment of sweets. They are also always stocked with home-made khulfi(mango ice cream). Just don't come too early or late as they are not as fresh. I frequently go here when I am in the mood for authentic Indian food. I find that the flavors and prices are better than those at the places that are tagged as Indian Restaurant. Aside from taste the way the food is sold is also different. You pick the size container you want for a certain side and you buy the side. Typically I opt the the smallest container and pick four different sizes this ends up costing $12 including the fresh naan. I always opt out of the salad because I don't care for it and I never buy the rice since the bread is better. I have never stayed to eat because the place seems more like a locals spot .... If you visit you will understand what I mean. Most recently they started accepting cards which is definitely an added benefit. Service can be a little slow hence the 4 stars. read more

Some employees have a good attitude and are helpful, but most take over 10 minutes to get you a chai, even when it's slow. Sometimes when you're seated you need to remind them to charge your card 3 times and wait 45 minutes before you can leave. Sometimes they disregard the order of the line and serve men before women. As other reviewers have mentioned, they seem to give bad service consistently to women. Sometimes I get lucky and am served promptly and politely, but more often I have not. Ordered delivery from here and without the delivery free it came to $23.47, which is reasonable for takeout for 2. However upon receiving the food, it was barely enough for 1 person. My bhindi masala which costs $7, was in a plastic container around 3 x 4 x 2 and the sweet rice, $4 was in an even smaller container. Also the Naan was terribly under cooked, there wasn't any brown anywhere to be found and it wad incredibly chewy and doughy. This a great place that lives up to its name. In fact, its the name that drew me in one day as i walked down the street hungry and looking for a place with zabiha halal meat. My personal favorites from the menu are the (darker) chana daal, Chicken and/or lamb curry, tandoori chicken is off the hook, their Naan is amazing. Here's my insider tip providing you don't speak Urdu....be patient, order your Naan and anything from the kitchen the minute you walk in...it takes a long time! But its fresh. If you want the items ready to eat at home , you have to ASK to heat them. The buffet pan is not heated as one would think. Also, every single time I have been in there, the chef or a cook is ALWAYS and perpetually bringing out new freshly made dishes. I dont think anything sits around due to volume and turn over. They cater to heavy paki population and thats the style, so if you are like me...the only white guy I ever see in there...hahahaha, just roll with it and be patient. Its worth the wait. Once you get to know them, it goes a lot smoother. Odd but true. Overall, I love this place. The food is so flavourful and authentic and also not too greasy which places like Madina just have their food swimming in oil. Not cool nor healthy. Im a regular and eat there once a week. I been going to this spot many times. You can take the b11 bus and walk to ave C. What I love is the variety of food they have. They have good amazing biryaani. The delivery man asked me to write a review if I was very satisfied with my order, so I am doing precisely that. The food was amazing. Everything was fresh and the spices were on point. Warning that the Aloo Gobi is quite fiery if you have a more delicate stomach. ;) Delivery was also very quick and efficient (by car as we are on the complete diagonal end of Prospect Park from the restaurant). The food is decent and some of the staff are friendly. However last time I was there I only bought one container of food and a drink and was charged 12 dollars. My boyfriend has gone there many times and has never been charged the much. He had gone there two days before and gotten two containers of food, a large piece of chicken, and two desserts and was only charged 18, so they definitely overcharged me.
