Great place to order a regular size plate lunch that will fill you up everytime. Plus they sell andagi

Great find! Masa's cafeteria is also owned by IGE's but this location is in the Mapunapuna/Industrial area of salt lake. We all know that this area is notorious for NO PARKING! but they actually have a good amount of parking stalls available. They're located in a corner/up a little hill when you enter the parking lot. i kind of wonder if it's a little elevated since this area can be flooded sometimes. I've only come for the thursday specials - I really enjoyed the pot roast and the pastrami sandwiches. The portions are really big and can be shared between 2 people and the pricing is pretty decent. There is a take out window where you can order - so you can totally bring your dog! However, no where to really sit and eat so it's mostly takeout. Service depends who helps you! the first time the lady i got was really nice! the second time the older lady/grandma meant well but she had to make my order a total of 3 times for it to be right. i actually drove off and noticed it an hour later and made it back in time before they closed. They fixed it partially but it was still wrong. Luckily i was still in the parking lot this time so i had her fix it again. i guess third times a charm sometimes! There was also a price difference (i paid more) but it's fine i just wanted it fixed.

Small sample, sweet and sour pork with spaghetti and cheese , two scoops of rice and one scoop of Mac salad !!

Food is amazing, hard to beat .. talk about old school of grandmas cooking .. quality over quantity, not here you got both quality and quantity. Plate is so big and heavy , you can feed two people. Don't believe what I'm saying, come see and try for yourself.. promise you won't be disappointed !! Mahalo masa's

I decided to try this place for lunch, it's street parking it can park next door and shop at Fisher Hawaii first. They still don't have dine in since covid and no plans to add it back. They have a takeout counter to order food. I ordered a mini turkey with mashed potatoes and there was stuffing under the turkey. It was good, reminds me of comfort home cooking. I couldn't tell if there was sour cream in the mashed potato or if it went sour, but i ended up eating it, They open for breakfast and lunch only with their daily menu on their website. It was crowded w construction workers in the area but service was quick! i think i'll come back and try breakfast.

Love this old school mom & pop feel.

The best comfort food. Haven't been back here in like 20+ years but the place still looks the same minus the closed dining area. I got a combo Baked Spaghetti and the Baked Beans with Hotdog specials plus fried rice. Was ono (delicious)! Comfort food reminds me of hanabata days (small kid time). Got one kanak attack (fell asleep) after attempting to grind all of this massive plate lunch. Employees are nice. I think most of customers work in the area and walk there.

My friend and I had been talking about our andagi craving all last week, so I went to stop here to pick up lunch today. Now these are some plate lunches! No wonder people just line up - it's the food is delicious and plates are plentiful - all at great prices. Curryburger Stew could have a bit more curry flavor but I really like the Teriburger Loaf so I got a mixed plate with the two. Roast Pork plate with mashed is always a winner *the pork is always so soft and tender!

Mini Shoyu Pork. 01/15/2026 one of the specials for the day. It was delicious and tender. Price was $14.95.

Only open on weekdays. Made time to go there and get there lunch options. They have set menu options each day during the weekday. Everything looks good! The food reminds me of school meals I used to have. Parking available. I got the Mini Pork cutlet $10.50~- Gravy with pork cutlet over rice. I'm so glad the gravy wasn't too salty. The pork was thin. I liked it! Great spot for cheap eats. I would come back to try other options!

We recently celebrated our daughter's 1st Birthday. Everything was amazing. We had about 150 guests with Lion Dance, balloon twisters, face painters, Photo Booth and DJ. The food was so Ono and we had so much leftovers. Everyone enjoyed themself and we had plenty of time for the program and time for dancing.

Small fragments of bones found in Masa's Cafeteria Wednesday Special Turkey Plate.

My family and I have been frequenting Masa's Cafeteria in Mapunapuna for over 20+ years. A couple days ago, I ordered their Wednesday special turkey plate and found so many BONES! The bones were small fragments that probably fell off the meat, but with the gravy, it wasn't until I bit into one that I realized it was a bone. I unfortunately found many more bones in my plate and was not able eat my food. I called the next day to report it, and the female server transferred the call to her manager. I explained the situation for awareness especially to prevent someone from choking on a bone! The manager asked who the server was (I don't know her name but can identify her if I saw her), said sorry and hung up. It was disappointing that they didn't seem to take much interest with my concern.

Had a retirement party to attend and it was held a Masa's Cafeteria located in Mapunapuna . Lots of parking either on the street or they have a lot behind there cafeteria. The food was delicious from Potato Macaroni salad, rice, Chinese chicken salad, yakisoba noodles, spare ribs, shoyu pork, fried chicken, beef broccoli, mahi mahi and of course dessert Andagi donut. Congratulations to my friend Geno Oshiro retiring after 40years in the DOE . I can't believe anyone who can work that long and still have the energy that he has. Also I cannot see myself working that long if I could I would retire now LOL !!! But I got into the State late in my career so I got at least 10 more years to go . Masa's also serves plate lunches during the week day Mon-Fri so if your in the area support local their food is good

This definitely a gotta try for everyone ... Cats B.

A very unassuming little eatery, restaurant, party venue, drive-in... absolutely no Glitz no Glamor ...it truly is the 'da little Diner that really could' Yes, it certainly not fancy, but when you are on a budget Masa's Cafeteria is an excellent venue for a small graduation, birthday party, wedding, funeral,... it has a decent size dining hall, medium parking lot ... what they lack in ambience Masa's more than makes up for in it's multi-national cuisine Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipino ... the quality, variety, taste, portions, and prices are very affordable. In addition the customer service is very good. My favorite is their Old Fashioned Roast Turkey, so very tender with gravy all over... just gotta put more skin in the servings. You gotta gotta gotta try their Masa Cafeteria's MASSIVE BAKED CHICKEN MUSUBI ... it truly is a meal by itself.

Everyone we visit this is the first place we go before checking into our stay! It's conveniently close to the airport and on the way to Waikiki. Our favorite that we must order everyone is the pipikuala ribs! Between two people I think the large is a perfect size. It comes with 8 pieces and perfect to share. They're so flavorful with the perfect amount of fat and not dry at all. You must eat it with the raw onion on the side dipped in Hawaiian salt! Soooo so good My other favorite item is the butterfish collar. So buttery and crisp to perfection. Super juicy as well! Squad lau and Kaula pork is a must too. Can't go wrong with anything tbh. The service is attentive and friendly. They were constantly refilling our waters and asking if we're good. Food always came out really quick too. 100/10 recommend Helena's to anyone looking to try real authentic Hawaiian food.

Also, the people truly resonate the aloha spirit. However, this morning's visit was very disappointing. We brought our family from Guam to try this place and experience authentic Hawaiian cuisine. But at the very beginning of the visit it was already turned sour. It was packed and there were tons of people waiting outside; therefore, my parents who were elderly sat outside to wait for our table. The lobby was packed with people waiting-understandable coz the place is popular. As people get seated, the waiting area has more vacant seat and I wanted my parents to come in. However, the hostess raised her voice and said demandingly to shut the door. I told her I'm letting my parents in. She just kept on saying to shut the door. I repeated myself that I'm making my parents come in and wait inside rather than baking outside the entrance. She just kept on mumbling until my parents sat with me at the waiting area. I tried to explain to her that I was not trying to keep the door open, I was waiting for my parents to get in. They're old so they move slow. She did not apologize she just kept saying the door needs to be closed. THIS IS TRULY DISAPPOINTING AND DISRESPECTFUL! The aloha spirit was not there. In addition, the whole experience was so sour that my family did not enjoy the food. We did not finish, we packed the food but was not able to eat them. It went to the trash! I'm hoping that a better host can help bring back the ALOHA!

All things considered I'm going to go out on a limb from most other reviewers and go 4.4 stars. 5 stars for my non-expert opinion on the Musubi but the ball and poke bowl were not 5-star worthy and the fact it's a hole in the wall doesn't earn bonus stars in my book.
