Favorite quick Japanese food place in Visalia. Super nice staff and quick service, great teriyaki bowls!

This was the worst place I've ever been to, so bad I even started laughing. Flavorless and in styrofoam containers! Plastic utensils.... even the beer tasted gross. The staff looked like they were just playing in the back kitchen area. At least I can say what the worst place in Visalia is. The vegetables weren't even steamed ... it looked like they dumped them inside the bowl straight out of a plastic bag and the "curry sauce" im not even sure what was in it... I had 1 bite and that is all. The restaurant is dirty, all the tables were dirty... customers dump all of their styrofoam kitchen ware in the trash so the least the staff can do is wipe the tables. read more

Don't get me wrong, food is awesome, but very tight on the Chicken. I get a whole bowl of rice and a very small amount of chicken. Make it worth my wild and put a good amount of chicken that will last with the rice amount. read more

Favorite place in Visalia! Fast service, good prices, EXCELLENT food, and decently clean for the most part.

Awful customer service. I went in and ordered 2 miso soups. No one else in the restaurant. It took 15 minutes for them to start my order because the 2 girls were talking and the 2 guys in the kitchen were showing each other the phones. read more

Service is hit and miss. Somedays they decide to be friendly, somedays they decide to be cranky. The food is always good. The spicy beef bowl is delish and the meat is cooked perfectly. The chicken salad is also good, white meat chicken and the dressing is so good!!!! It's a great lunch spot or for a quick casual dinner. read more

My savior when I'm in Visalia and out of the city. Yes, the orders take a while but its cuz they're being made RIGHT THEN! not expensive, and not THE ABSOLUTE BEST but its good food! The staff is very friendly too and are always super nice. read more

Word to the wise do not order anything with seaweed. I ordered the California rolls and Spicy tuna to go. The seaweed was like chewing on a ballon. I peeled it off the CA roll and took back the spicy tuna. When I told the young lady at the counter she went into the back and came back and said "it's suppose to be like that". Um no, no it isn't. So gross. No offer to replace with something else or to refund my money. I will not be going back. read more

The only reason this gets two stars is because the food is great. The ladies at the register are so unbelievably rude. I ask for my drink after I make my order and the lady tells me she will get it and that I can't grab it. Which obviously is says it on the fridge if you have been there. So I tell her yes I know and that whenever she is ready I would like my drink because I'm thirsty. She made the biggest deal about it and told everyone in line to hold on so she could grab my drink then apologized to everyone after. Seriously!?? The last two times I have ordered food to go, my order is wrong. I like the food but tired of not getting what I ordered.

Looked like they had so much potential but the flavor is way too salty. Had the beef bowl but it was like beef jerky bowl.

Not good. Don't waste your money. Maybe we were there on a bad day but the meat was burnt and way too salty. Noodles were mushy. And it was 20 dollars for 2 people for lunch and the wait was over 20 minutes for 2 bowls of noodles. read more

I'm surprised to find such high review for this Japanese restaurant. The chicken leaves a bad aftertaste, and the rice sometimes have an inconsistent texture, wither it would on the wet side or overcooked. Yes, the place does offers typical Japanese food, but it just does not hit the spot if you're looking for GOOD Japanese food. I've tried this place twice and I'm just disappointed. Do not order sushi here unless you do not want fish. The sushi is egg and mushroom wrapped in rice. Ended up throwing it in the garbage. Chicken rice bowl is pretty good though. read more

This place is gross. From the food to the dining area. Gross. The staff was friendly. That's about the only good thing I can say. Avoid this place. There are many other Asian places around that are far better quality. read more

Far too expensive for what you get. The chicken bowls are plain old American wannabe Japanese bowls with dry chicken. The sushi is a big roll of sticky rice and seaweed paper. Can't taste anything else. For $5 go to one of the real Japanese restaurants in town. read more

Chicken here is very fresh you can see them cooking in the back). It's fantastic over rice or in their yummy salad. There food is very simple but has good authentic flavor. Great for take out but I wouldn't bring my family here to dine in . It's gets pretty crowded around noon and the customer service is ok( they forgot my sauce a few times) read more

I LOVE their teryaki bowls! Both the chicken and the beef are good. They are ready very quickly, but some of the other menu items take a bit longer as they require more than a scoop of rice (better than any rice I have tasted, I don't know why) and some slow-cooked chicken that you can smell from miles away. The salads are lacking, as is the sushi, but the other stuff is solid. read more

I like this restrant it's good for when u want a little japese food . They have low prices great rice bowls,but their a little salty and don't pour all the sauce because it just ends up at the bottem like soup yuck. They also have good sushi i personly like the california roll, it's great for people who r just getting to like sushi. read more

The food is good, inexpensive, and fast. I love the tempura vegetables and shrimp. I give it 5 stars for what it is, an inexpensive, casual, hole in the wall type of family restaurant. This isn't the place to impress a date as there is no ambiance. If what you want is a good, fast, meal, then this is the place. read more

I hate that I have to write a bad review for a small business but it has gotten to that point... the food here is delicious but the customer service is so extremely poor. I eat here frequently since it is around the corner from my house and one of the only healthy options and for some reason, EVERY SINGLE TIME, no joke. Every. Damn. Time. Something is wrong. They are careless in preparation as well as packaging. My meal has fallen through the bag to my feet due to poor packaging 7 times... not an exaggeration. My fiancé (who is ALLERGIC to seafood) always ends up with fish cake in his food no matter how many times we inform him of the allergy. I have worked in the food industry for 7 years and there is absolutely no excuse as to why this has happened to us more than 3 times. It just shows how much they do not care about not only the quality of service for their customers but the health and well being as well. Get it together, Masaru's. read more

Picture... Shredded cadaver meat w/ sauce over rice. Seems to be a local sweetheart restaurant, but sadly, almost made me pick up and move out of visalia. The "spicy tuna roll," maybe 2 inches in diameter, with the spicy tuna part less than a quarter inch across....okay i'm exaggerating... it was maybe a half inch across...but you get the picture. This thing was basically an enormous rice roll... I had to laugh when it was served. I laughed, than cried, then contemplated moving. The only positive note on this place is that it is cheap and the portions substantial...munchies anyone? read more

Pretty disappointing walking into this location compared to the one on West Goshen. When opening the door you are greated with disgusting carpet and a even nastier front counter. Will definitely stick to going to the one on West Goshen until some revamping is done at this location. read more

Food is amazing but customer service is Horrible.. I went to the one on Akers and Goshen I bought an extra sauce the girl just threw on the counter and turned away. When I walked in no one welcomed us no thank . Next time around I drive across town hoping they would have better service this place was just as bad. Never going to eat there again :( read more

Chicken bowl was pretty good but place is falling apart and is dirty looking. Other places in town are clean.
