Great sushi! Super friendly service and the food is inexpensive. I was hesitant to try it out because it was so low priced, but was happily surprised by the quality. Whoever took and made my order new year's night 2021 was so nice and helpful. Thank you guys for your great service and delicious food! Happy New Year's! read more

Usually delicious, today NOT! Something must have been left out of the salad dressing for the chicken salad - zero flavor and didn't even look like normal! Not enough dressing/ sauce for our rice bowl! I called in my order in advance and when I walked in to pick it up I had to wait in line behind 7 people to pick it up, and I can see my order sitting there with my hot rice bowl sitting right on top of my cold chicken salad! Why can't the owner enable an app, like "Toast Takeout" so people can order AND pay on the app, and then just walk in and pick up there order instead of standing in line behind all these people who are placing ordered!!! read more

Unfortunately the food quality here has gotten terrible. We always order the teriyaki bowls, vegetable tempura and California rolls. The shredded chicken always has bones in it now, the rolls have no flavor and are mushy, and the tempura is old and soggy. It's too bad because we use to love this place. read more

This place used to be our go-to a couple times a month but we've had enough. The food has gone downhill while the prices have climbed. The sauce has no flavor, the rice has been crunchy, and the last three times we've had chicken rice bowls, there have been chicken bones in them. The chicken salad is mostly all lettuce now too. read more

Love this place. I eat here all the time. Would highly recommend. The rice bowls are great!

Have been eating here for years. Food and service have always been great. Until tonight...the absolute rudest young woman took our order. Did not address us as we walked to the counter. Was curt and hostile from the moment we walked in. When we asked for a difference sauce, for which we had ordered, she flipped out and started screaming at us. Will not ever return to this restaurant. read more

Last night I went to pick up my order of 2 chicken bowls , order of tempura shrimp (1) in a order and 2 order of tempura veg! The chicken in the bowls were shredded and looked like they scrapped the last of the chicken and put it in my bowls ( small portions) I got 1 pc of shrimp with my order and 6 very small and greasy tempura Vegs ! I don't know what the heck is going on with masaru lately but their food has been terrible and disgusting ! I would give them a 0 stars if I could ! I will not be going there anymore ! read more

The owner is rude, unfriendly, and dresses like she just rolled out of bed, which makes me question the cleanliness of the restaurant. I asked for the spicy sauce before I paid like the sign said to do, and she was so mean about it. Threw my sauce in the bag with attitude and then asked, "Is that all" very harshly. I was in shock the way I was treated, and I don't understand why she thinks this is an acceptable way to treat customers. I used to love the food here, but the owner has made me never want to visit this establishment ever again. People don't deserve to be treated like that when they are simply just trying to pick up lunch and pay and get back to work. Someone needs to tell her to leave her bad attitude at the door....there's a thing called being professional regardless of any personal situations going on. I wouldn't have written this review if it wasn't a pattern with the owner, but it's every time i go in there. No hospitality, no thank yous, no have a good day, just a frown, and a vibe that you're bothering her to do her job! I refuse to give my money to rude people! Good luck read more

This place needs better customer service the food was disappointing the forgot the main sauce for my teriyaki bowl so for lunch I'm eating a dry bowl the sushi looked like it's been sitting out for a few days I won't come back to this place again read more

They have the best gyoza at a very reasonable price. Can feed the family for a decent price.

The lady with no name tag was totally horrible. I have been coming here for years but will not be back. Her attitude was nasty on the phone and even worse in person. I asked her for napkins and she had the audacity to ask me if I looked, well obviously I had and that is why I was asking smh. She then threw the napkins in my bad. We are truly living in the last days. Lord help her! read more

This location is horrible.... the rude ugly attitude girls up front need to learn customer service. they never get the orders right so double check your orders when you have a pick up!!! Will definitely start going to the other location! read more

I don't normally do yelp reviews. Most people review restaurants if it's a negative review. I only do it for exceptional service. And this is what I had tonight. Lena and Rosie at this restaurant we're some of the nicest sweetest girls I've ever met. They saw my daughter in her gymnastics clothes and asked her about her practice and made her feel so special. I just wanted to let this establishment know they have two awesome girls working for them and I hope they know that! Thank you Lena and rosie! read more

Made a yelp account just to leave this review. This place is not worth it at all. Used to love this place then i don't know what happened but it's just not the same. service is terrible the girls working in front are rude and look miserable working there. 2 chicken bowls and 3 sauces on the side came out to $22 which is insanity. I would put 0 stars if i could read more

Mediocre food. After several years I finally thought they would actually have thought about changing their attitude and been pleasant and helpful well I was wrong. The employee working the order counter acted as if I was waisting her time. I'm sure some people like to greeted with Over here and what do you want and be impatient about it. Not being greeted at a restaurant or any type of food business is not going to get people to come back. The staff in the back should not be wiping their faces and cooking, clearly they don't care you can see them. Why stop there you might as well blow your nose. I truly was disappointed but I did give it a try again. Hopefully from this review they do staff training on customer service etc... the tempura shrimp was rubber and tasted microwaved, I also ordered the egg rolls and those so hot I think or assume they were also microwaved. I am leaving without complaining or eating what I ordered. I had one bite of each item and left. Never again. read more

We love going to Masaru's but tonight we got take out and they have changed the bowls to a much smaller size! There is a lot less rice and meat in the new bowls but the price is still the same. Very disappointed! read more

Simple teriyaki chicken or beef bowls seem to be their bread and butter dish. They are really tasty. Chicken has just the right amount of char and the meat is tender with great flavor. The tempura vegetables are pretty good but beyond that nothing seems to hit home with us. If we go to Masaru's it's strictly for one of these items. Honestly I don't know why they make sushi rolls. For one, they are not very good at the sushi roll thing. Second, they really don't need to have it on the menu. If they just stick to what they do well, that's all people really want. Teriyaki bowls. Overall a decent place to get a fresh tasty teriyaki bowl. Relatively inexpensive, but they do now charge you for siracha sauce 25 cents to be exact. read more

Food is always amazing and service too! I get Masaru's at least once a week it'll always be a favorite!

Great service from a women named Jocelyn. She was very kind and patient with me. The food was excellent I asked who made it and his name was Jordan. Overall a great experience. Would Recommend ! read more

Meh...I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl, spicy tuna roll and their calamari special. Never order deep fried seafood on special lol. Spicy tuna roll: the roll was predominately rice and some spicy tuna in the middle. Honestly, for $6, I wasn't expecting much. It was edible and I would order again. Teriyaki chicken bowl: came as a recommendation from the cashier. Chicken was dry and super salty. The sauce comes on the side. I poured it into my bowl, thinking the sweetness will cut the saltiness. It helped a little bit. Not my favorite meal. In the 15 mins that I was there waiting on my food, they seem to have a steady stream of orders and people picking up their food. Bonus: Cashier was nice read more

Food is always hot, and fairly fast. Reasonably priced. Authentic flavor is a rarity in the area, enjoy this treat. Tip: Won't be disappointed by food or service, but it is in a busy shopping center and parking is not ideal. read more

Food is very good and fast. I get the chicken teriyaki bowl and my husband gets the chicken katsu. We go here probably once a week. My husband was going to meet me at masarus yesterday for his lunch, so I got there early and ordered for us. After I ordered, I found out my husband's meeting was going to last longer than he thought and he wasn't going to be able to meet me for lunch anymore. When I saw my order show up, I immediately asked the lady at the register if I could get that order to go. There was no one behind me in line so it shouldn't have been an issue. Well, apparently it was an issue. Either she couldn't hear me or completely ignored me, but she ended up calling my number to come pick up my food. When I asked her again if I could get the order to go again, she very loudly and annoyingly went "UGHHHH" and went back to box it up for me. So rude! read more

My whole family loves the food. Especially when I don't need to cook. Taste like home cook food

Idk but whoever takes the orders over the phone and in the restaurant has a really awful attitude and thats not cute at all. Smoke some weed and have a better attitude or get out of a customer service job hun. read more

Pricing is ideal for when you don't want to cook and are on a budget. Food is good, price is reasonable. Overall average place to eat

Called in an order & was told they were closing in 20 min, got there in 18 was told they were closed. Even with order ready and paying with cash they refused to let me get food. They might be doing so much business during this pandemic that they did not need my business.. read more

Let me start by saying this place is simple. If you are looking for a nice aesthetically pleasing sit down place, look somewhere else. The restaurant is simple and gives you somewhere to sit with basic tables and chairs. The customer service is okay and often times there is a battle between using the card reader and answering the phone. Also, for those impatient folks prepare to wait in a short line. What they do have is a killer Teriyaki bowl! I recommend getting the spicy sauce and you can do half rice half steamed veggies (Carrots, Zucchini and Broccoli) which is a great option if you're looking to save some carbs. This is a Visalia gem. It's nothing fancy, but its ours. read more

Well my wife and I been going here for nearly 20 years only reason for this post is I noticed but didn't say anything wanted to see if my wife did first thing she said after I was thinking it before she did was they changed the bowls way less food same price we both normally eat a rice biel good to go she even has some for Kate she was complaining tonight about the portion saying she was still humgary I was thinking the same thing so do to the new bowls we won't be going back that's some trickery I won't go for there chicken and rice isn't very expensive so to loose customers over a scoop of rice and a little chicken to smart guys anyways we done with this place no reason to go if we are still Hungary after eating read more

Called in my order and they said it would be ready in 10 minutes it was ready in 5, which was great. Ordered a spicy chicken teriyaki bowl, which was good. Alot of chicken everything was fresh. Ordered a california roll, which was also good. But they really need to work on their portion of rice to imitation crab, cucumber, avocado ratio. Otherwise its more like a rice roll. I'll add a picture so you all can see what I mean. read more

They are so rude, unprofessional and unfriendly (at the location on Goshen) The food is great but customer service is horrible. I understand that they are busy but not an excuse to treat people poorly. read more

Well... the quality has gone down. At first I thought it was from going during busy lunch rush, but sadly nope. Was there late today and just ordered a California to hold me over until dinner. Went to Masaru's restaurant on Goshen and Akers in Visalia California today and had the worst customer service and management experience. Asked to have my salad order checked because I asked for no onions or Crunchy noodles and to make sure the salad dressing was there because half the time it never is. Girl said she would not look as she knew the order was right. Came home and there was onions and noodles in my salad and no salad dressing. I called the restaurant and asked for A manager. I said I Needed a new salad because this one was inedible and he said said no, "You took the salad home we cannot reimburse you we cannot make you another one unless you pay again". I used to go to Masaru four times a week; it was expensive and good food. Now the prices are several dollars more and the portions are 1/3 less in size. Customer service has been poor lately and I do not recommend this restaurant at all. This is not the first time something like this has happened. The line is usually long and slow so if you are looking for a fast food place this is not it. I would not recommend this place at all. If you get togo food there you better check your order By pulling everything out of the bag and make sure they got it right otherwise you're out of luck read more

I've loved Masaru's since I was little and would go to the location in Mary's Vineyard. The last few times I've been to Masaru's I've gone to the goshen location. The food is still good... But the girls who work there are some of the worst employees I've witnessed. When ordering they act like you're really annoying them and you're a total inconvenience. God forbid you ask for a side of Teriyaki sauce! The eye rolls and the sighs are a little over the top. I get it... you hate your job. But guess what? It's not my fault, I'm just here to order lunch. read more
