I wrote a complaint review because of miscommunication and misunderstandings, but the issue was resolved to my satisfaction

Lapels Dry Cleaning

Bellevue

Pretty disappointed with this experience…read more I dropped several items off to be cleaned on 1/3. During drop off, I went through any defects of my items with the employee at the counter. There was only item I dropped off that was damaged and it was a cashmere sweater with a snagged hem that I've been meaning to get repaired. The employee said she made a note of this in their system. Upon pick up on 1/6, the employee at the counter informed me that there was a stain on an expensive Burberry dress that I dropped off that they could not get out. I explained to the employee that this stain was not there when I dropped my items off and I was upset about this damage. She told me that she could would have the owners reach out to me, but I still have not heard anything from anyone regarding this issue. The stain on the dress is on the front breast pocket. It appears as if the garment was caught in something and then tugged out which left black scrapes/streaks. This dress was a milestone gift from my husband and retails for more than my rent which makes the damage done to it that much worse. I'm really saddened by this experience and hope the owners eventually reach back out to me for a resolution. I was excited to switch to Lapel's because of their eco-friendly dry cleaning method, but now I'm feeling like it is not worth the extra hassle if my garments will not be treated with care. There may be other locations to this business that are good, but I'm unsure if I would return to this one. Update; I was contacted by the owner and they were successfully able to remove the stain from my dress. When coordinating how to handle the situation, I got the impression that it was being implied that *I* was actually responsible for the stain which was very far from the truth. I received a text message from the owner later on saying they found the source of the stain within their business and that was why they were able to treat it appropriately. I love that my dress is in good condition again, but I dislike a little of the attitude that came with getting the situation resolved. I read through the reviews on Google and here and it seems like this business has a track record of providing subpar service but quickly being able to adjust and fix their errors. This would be a boon if it didn't come with a side of slight finger pointing at the customer first. Meh.

We have been to Suki's on two occasions, mainly to hem my husband's pants. And, the charges have been the same and the job well done. The hemming is always neat and professional. This time, I went in with a traditional attire of mine. Georgette sleeves that needed a very neat stitch in through its translucent fabric. They did a great job. I wanted to also tuck in the dress but the total was costing more than I was willing to pay, although honestly reasonable. Here is what I appreciate- she pinned the clothing on me, looked at the material and suggested where the stitching would be most neat at best. She quoted me the price and then she was reasonable and considerate when I hesitated. When I suggested altering just the sleeves not the other adjustments, she was very nice about me changing my mind. But that she handled my traditional garment with such care, I am glad to know a place as such exists. The quotes were reasonable. Customer service was commendable. P.S: To South asians, she altered the sleeves of my kameez for $10. Knowing how sensitive materials and fittings for south asian clothes can be, if you are look for a reliable place, I recommend Suki's.
