On multiple garments Ive waited on repairs only to come pick them up at the scheduled time and find that they were not complete. This happened with some surgical cuffs on a jacket I needed shortened. When I dropped it off there was no mention that this was not something they could do. I wait for the alterations to be done to come back and see that the sleeve seems were open and I was told they couldn't do the work. It was something they easily could have mentioned the first time I was there. I was refunded my money on this. Most recently was a ridiculous series of going to get shoulders fixed on a sport jacket that were out of whack from the web based manufacturer. I probably went back and forth to Ericka's 6-8 times on this jacket, ordered shoulder pads as directed, and ultimately was told they could not fix the jacket, weeks later. Two other alterations tailors told me on the spot that they couldn't fix the jacket. That's all I can ask for with respect to an unfixable problem. Tell me up front so I don't waste my time and money. Ericka's did offer to split the cost of a new jacket after it had been hurried back together with thread that doesn't match. I will not waste my time here anymore. If they tell you a date your garment will be ready, add a week or two to that and be prepared to be let down.

I get a call from them a day later saying, "We have your straps actually, they were in the trash." I was not discounted for any of this. In fact, the price was incredibly lofty in my opinion. Was told that a pair of elastic in some shorts would be $15, upon pickup was charge $36. She claimed she never gave me a price...not true. Then upon inspection, someone stuck a pin in the silk shorts creating a hole that was attempted to be remedied by steaming it. The hole now sags and looks like a pull. The entire band is sloppy and the elastic already popped. Asking them to remedy the situation was almost comical, staring at a customer blankly is not a suitable response to any issues. I strongly caution anyone taking their garments there unless you prefer to be treated oddly and overcharged for a potentially damaged item.

I felt rushed and uncomfortable asking questions about my alterations, so I ultimately decided to take my garments elsewhere. The changing rooms have nice mirrors, but the curtains don't close particularly well. This doesn't bother me, I am not particularly shy. I bought the dress on sale for $15, it is a mini dress made of a cotton blend (maybe?) and a lining. It was all tailored perfectly for me for $43! That's a great deal in my book! Suki and her dog, who remains securely behind a little pet gate, were lovely and very polite. Upon picking up, I asked if I could take the hanger my dress was on, and lamented how I need to purchase more hangers for my closet. She then produced a whole pile of hangers and invited me to take them! I was going to decline, fearing they would be wire hangers, but they were all very sturdy plastic! It looked completely seamless and beautiful! She also took in the dress at the waist and hemmed the front so it fell perfectly. Every detail was handled with such precision and care. I also purchased a bolero from Etsy to wear over my dress, and it arrived way too big. Parisa worked her magic again and tailored it to fit me like a glove. As an everyday person, they made me feel welcomed just as much as they did for what I'd consider their upper echelon of clientele. This is a high-end alterations establishment, and when I needed to get a dress altered for my grandmother's funeral this weekend, they were willing to take on the job despite my being rejected by several other alteration establishments before, as it is wedding season and a lot of alteration places are weeks and even months into working with other people's garments for altering. I did pay dearly for it, but if something had to be fixed on the dress, they did so. I had to return after they turned it around in one day to get the initial dress completely finished, but still time to spare for this weekend. When you go to get alterations, you want to feel valued, welcomed and heard. I felt all of these things when I was here. They set a high bar for customer service. Jeff, the owner, mentioned working with the same seamstress for 38 years! That is wonderful. Jeff also does pet paintings and has various ties, libation recipe books, and other miscellaneous items for sale. I bought a libation recipe book for my husband, and he was really appreciative of it. I thought GREAT now I don't have to take the time to do it myself, even though I am able. Stopped in and a clerk greeted me with a blase (at best) attitude and I told him I just wanted to hem them to a specific inseam measurement and he became quite condescending and argumentative about that stating emphatically they would not be right and that he would not guarantee his work. I was taken aback by his rude and arrogant treatment of customers. Now, I know that hemming is little more than a time consuming task - it'll take me a couple of hours to do a superior job - but it's not difficult even if you do an invisible hem. So I left with my new slacks to hem at home since I CAN guarantee my own quality workmanship. Once I got in the car I remembered that the last time I had patronized that business was at least two decades ago when I ordered two custom mens business shirts for my husband as a Christmas present. They weren't inexpensive. But when they arrived they were very undersized and did not fit even though Stitch It staff had measured for the shirts in house. They acted then much like they acted today that they really wouldn't stand by the quality of their work. Glad I got a free reminder of what kind of business this is this time instead of having wasted money on un-wearable shirts. What a shame to be so miserable in your own skin that you have to go out of your way to make your customers feel uncomfortable and unappreciated.
