Florentine Grinder

Good bread is the foundation of a good Grinder. The Florentine Grinder comes with a generous portion of chicken and is tasty. The store was crowded when I arrived but our order was prepared quickly. There are a few tables if you want to eat there.

Half of an Italian sub with mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and peppers ... toasted. I was so hungry half was eaten before taking a picture.

It's been a while since visiting Marzillis Bakery in Fall River. I first heard about it, many years ago, on a TV show called "Emeril Visits Home." Yes that Emeril. He is from Fall River, MA. . On his visit home one stop was at Marzillis and more or less gave it a BAM. Not being too far from there I decided to give it a try ... and I was hooked. Prices are reasonable and on my list it is in the top three sub shops that I have been too. Trying to stay away from carbs and sodium has limited how often I eat this type of food ... it was well worth the splurge. There is very limited seating ... probably most orders are to go. Old school atmosphere delicious food. Maybe i'll splurge a little more often ... BAM!!!

Corner location.

The sandwich was made to order. Bread is baked in house too. Outstanding. 10 tables to dine in.

Sandwich & drink.

Everything! Excellent food & service. I had a small chicken salad grinder. My husband had a hit ham & cheese. They were both yummy.

This is the Italian grinder, l banana peppers. Skimpy cold cuts. Not what it used to be.

I have been coming to this sandwich shop for years. This summer, something is off. The Italian grinder has lost its specialty mixed peppers. There are not enough cold cuts as well.

It had to be 20 years since I had an Italian Grinder, and what better place to have it "getting ready to fly out of providence." What a treat they even wrapped it in Saran Wrap to keep it extra fresh. I can't thank you enough. I only wish Colorado had grinders. Here's to the Polselli's for keeping a good thing going.

What is fate? Fate is a series of events that will decide what will happen in the future beyond…read morehuman control. Let's start with my name. Hi I'm Christopher Silva. Similar to the owner of this wonderful establishment. I don't make my way to Fall River very often. I've seen a lot of Christophers good deeds that he has done on social media. He seems like a very good man. So I was driving down south main street, and I seen Christopher walking by himself, headed in the direction towards his cafe. I decided to go around the block. And if I happened to catch him, great, I just wanted to know what's the number one thing. I should try there. Fate has it, I got a red light, and he literally had to cross in front of me. So I rolled down my window, and asked him that question, he said the frozen custard, when my light turned green, I went through the intersection, and pulled the quickest u turn possible, found a parking spot crossed the street only to sadly find out that his store was closed. I missed it by 17 minutes. I got back in my car and all of a sudden. He comes running out telling me to hold on, wait right there, so I get out of my car again, go across the street and wait for him. He comes out with the frozen custard that he wanted me to try. I offered to pay and he happily refused my cash offering, and told me to have a wonderful day when I got in my car, I realize it's carrot cake!!!!! Once again fate has it. If there was one item I would have ever picked for flavor, it would be carrot cake, it was always my favorite. He did tell me to let him know what I thought of it. One thing he did not know is I'm quite the foodie but also a huge ice cream connoisseur. I work for a company called New England Ice Cream, and we deliver all brands of ice cream locally, to stores and scoop shops and we also have a plant that manufactures the ice cream in Attleboro a very famous local establishment known as Bliss Brothers Ice cream now Bliss. So let me tell you what I think about your frozen custard, sir. Absolutely amazing! To me what makes a great ice cream is the texture and the texture of that custard, probably because I'm assuming custard has to be churned very slowly. Unlike ice cream, where it's whipped very fast to add a lot of air in it. This custard was so dense it has absolutely been perfected. So thank you for your wonderful recommendation and you're generous offering, of a free pint. I was hoping to bring some home for my wife and son to try. But it didn't make it back to Fairhaven so in light of that, we'll be returning most likely as a family very soon. I've seen some nice sandwiches that I would love to try there. I would love for you to recommend me one. Thanks again Chris it was a pleasure to have met you.

With all the bragging about how welcoming/inclusive they are, it was the most weirdly unwelcome and snooty eatery I've ever visited. Polite/cheerful questions I asked went unanswered, just staring down at the food as he (Nate) filled my order. I think this business should not have him at the counter, no customer service skills. And to think I drove 40 minutes to get there and stupidly tipped! The place is beautiful, a lot of work and pride went into it inside and out. But why the weird unfriendly vibe? Won't be back. Why aren't customers as important as those whom they help? How hard is it to say hello or welcome or thank you. The only thing said to me was "anything else?" It is not like I went there for any begging requests, only visited for the food. Again, the baked goods are awesome there. Parking on the street was easy, too.

A great selection of Portuguese products (from mainland and the islands) and home ware / kitchen ware. Incredible selection of fish, salted cod, cheese, tinned fish, wine, etc. The worker in the wine section was super helpful and attentive. There was a large selection and told him what we typically enjoy drinking and he showed us multiple bottles. We went with two of the options he suggested and he hit the nail on the head. They were exactly what we like and wanted!! For imported products the prices are fair. Even the box of Queijada from the Azores price wasn't far off from what I paid on the island right from the source! They have a cafe as well, we didn't try it this time around but everything looked great. We will definitely be back and will try it the next time!!
