Recently revisited and I have to say it was delicious. I got the goat cheese omelette and it was so moist and tasty. The potatoes were much better than the last time and the service was very friendly and attentive. Will go back soon. read more

Mary's Cafe - Breakfast bar - Italian Near Me - Hammonton, New Jersey

Cute little spot to get breakfast/brunch in main part of town. Breakfast sandwiches were yummy and staff was very kind and attentive.

This place is indeed open! Nice little quaint spot in Hammonton. Had one of their most popular options with a sloppy Joe omelette. Who knew the 2 could go together?! Servers were pleasant and conversational. Found out their social medias were falsely changed to closed. Hopefully Yelp sees the delightful current photos and changes course. Check em out on Bellevue ave in Downtown Hammonton! read more

Stop in this past Sunday and was pleased but not bowled over. The food and atmosphere were terrific however the older woman who took our order (later found out she is the owner) should really retire. Besides being given only the "specials" menu to order from (which was all omelettes) she was forgetful and just unpleasant and ornery looking. After some time, my wife who was not feeling in the mood for an omelette, ask if the had regular breakfast foods and was told yes. You'd think at that point she'd offer up the regular menu but NO. My wife finally ordered the eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. The food including my roasted pepper balsamic, provolone omelet were very good. The younger wait staff were covering most of this woman's mistakes including my missing toast, forgetting I came in with my wife (are you alone? She asked after minutes earlier taking our order) Our advice is to definitely go to Mary's but avoid Mary if possible. Food and happy, younger wait staff are worth the trip. The craft doll on the edge of the counter had happy demeanor than the actual Mary. That says it all. read more

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Service was great. Breakfast draws a crowd and this is a local business.

We were passing through Hammonton, when we decided to get a bite to eat . My sister had been to Mary's once before and suggested I give it a try . It was a good decision. Upon entering ,we were greeted warmly by Mary , and promptly seated and given menus. Our server came over with a big smile , asking if we wanted a beverage . We ordered , and she brought them right away. The menus were filled with plentiful items and I had the corned beef and swiss omelet, which came with potatoes , toast and Cole slaw ! My sister had a corned beef sandwich , aka Corned beef Special . My omelet , which took up much of the plate was filled with lean corned beef and Swiss cheese , accompanied by perfectly cooked breakfast potatoes , and a side of yummy Cole slaw . perfectly cooked and full of flavor , it never had a chance of becoming a left over . My sister was equally pleased with her sandwich, piled high with the aforementioned corned beef . It was so plentiful that she took half home . This spot is what I call a local gem. From the moment we walked in , we were made to feel welcome , the service was great , as was the meal. Mary's Cafe is well worth checking out . read more

Amazing place!! We visited today and had an awesome brunch! Such a great spot dining among the flowers

What an adorable place!! Had breakfast here Saturday and was swept away with the pleasant atmosphere and cheerful service. Had eggs and bacon, my personal favorite, and everything was cooked perfect. I will be back. read more

Walked in to place a to go order and once the waitress heard this she abandoned me for another table as though my money isn't green. No wonder everyone in town knows Mary's is having financial problems. Try Andy's. You'll get a good meal and your business will feel appreciated. read more

Cute little local cafe. Lots of seating inside. They have a large breakfast menu- breakfast served all day and lots of lunch choices as well. We went with standard breakfast items and really enjoyed them. Home fries were nice and crispy! Prices were super reasonable. read more

Have been in the area for quite a while and I went strait to Mary's Cafe. Marion always recognizes faces and instantly she says "haven't see you in a long time". We chatted at the counter while I enjoyed my cream chipped beef. Can't wait until the Jersey tomatoes are ripe. They make tv best burgers and the tomatoes always add that extra touch. We always enjoy going to downtown Hammonton and Mary's is always at the top of our list with that small town charm and the history of the original building that was preserved. read more

This was a nice "home towny" place. We had breakfast and let me tell you they have Huge pancakes, really good French toast and I liked the egg and omelette selection. The servers are friendly and on their game. This place made me wish I lived in a small town again. read more

First time to Mary's Cafe last week for lunch. Food was great, service was good and friendly. Very cute inside. Will definitely be back.

Today was our second time visiting. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We had 2 of the specials. The chicken salad was phenomenal. We had two specials, shared an order of fries, and two drinks which totaled about $40. Prices are really reasonable for the fresh food that you receive. The place is decorated nicely and clean. read more

Nice quiet spot. I was there during a week day and enjoyed the no rush feeling. Everybody seemed to know each other and full of regulars which can be comforting. The Sloppy Joe omelet was very good read more

Had Breakfast, best eggs Benedict I've had to date. Mary's is creative, a twist on the classics with fine dining finish.

Great place, service was fantastic. Food is very good and atmosphere is very cute. I would definitely recommend .

Delicious. Goat cheese and asparagus omelette rocks. The coffee is good as well. On weekends there will be a slight wait.

Very quiet here. Nice place to drop in for breakfast, sitting down for a while and just staring around at the sunflower paintings. My family goes here for the omelettes, which are nicely rolled and beautiful (I personally wish I could do that sort of thing at home), stuffed full of whatever you want. While I'm not a fan of broccoli rabe, I've heard exclamations that it's extremely good here. Simple ham and cheese was marvelous in my case, personally. A side of toast and home fries let's you walk out of the building feeling like you can take on the world that day... or just head home for an after-meal nap. read more

Mary's Cafe is a wonderful place for either breakfast or lunch. Beautifully decorated and very relaxed , warm atmosphere. The waitresses are very friendly and efficient. The menu is filled with a variety of great homemade items . Prices are fair. I love Mary's Cafe! Fresh home cooking! read more

Lovely place for breakfast. Beautiful place with good atmosphere, good service, and reasonable options. I got enormous blueberry pancakes and my family tried the cheese omelette sad well ("very cheesy!"). We left stuffed. My only critique would be that I'd like to see more vegetarian sides for breakfast and more vegetarian options for lunch. I probably wouldn't eat here for lunch due to my diet limitations. read more

I was passing through for work and popped in for lunch today. The reviews were good and I prefer to eat at "mom and pop" places over the big chains. We'll, I'm so glad I did! This place is great!! The ambiance is so adorable and cheerful! The service was fast, personable, and helpful. And the food- sooo good! My turkey club was freshly sliced turkey piled high, bacon was well done a crispy, the mayo wasn't too heavy or messy, but not to light and dry, the tomatoes were ripe and red, and the bread was perfectly lightly toasted. I would've taken a picture of the perfection, but I was too hungry and ate it all up! Haha! I also peeped the other people's food near me and everything looked incredible! Def stop here to eat- you won't regret it! read more

It's open from 7:00 am - 2:30 pm which is a bit odd. However, the business hours of Hammonton is a bit off the beaten path of 9-5. After walking inside to get a menu and check it out personally, I could see the food looked delicious and nicely plated. It is very chic inside so I have high hopes when I finally go to eat here. Oh go on Facebook and it'll pop right up. You can see great photos there, too! I had the 'small' plate of french toast and it was huge and tasty! Yum. Definitely going back. The staff was nice but not super friendly. read more

Was recommended by a friend to try Mary's Cafe and we totally enjoyed it. Not only is the staff friendly & atmosphere cozy but the food is great. The omelet choices encompass the usual & some not so usual & are delicious. Also tried the chicken salad which is one of the best I've ever eaten. If your in the Hammonton area, it's worth stopping by for breakfast or lunch. read more

Great food and great service. Every item was cooked to perfection. The courtyard in the rear was perfect for our girls brunch. Thank you!!!

Great food, and a great atmosphere. The interior is so inviting, and so is the staff. I love being able to Sit at the "bar" and watch the news while eating. Would certainly recommend to anyone. read more

The Nitty Gritty: Awesome place for breakfast. A must try! I WOULD recommend this to others. The Details: We went here for breakfast and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is pretty chill and the interior is nicely decorated. The service was polite and prompt but nothing special. I got the chili omelette and it was the best NJ breakfast I've ever had for this out of towner from NH. My wife got blueberry pancakes and the experience was similar. The home-fries were flavorful and cooked perfectly. I didn't try the coffee. There were no advertised GLUTEN FREE options, but I did not ask. read more

I love Mary's! I went for breakfast with family, and we had an amazing meal. The French toast was perfect, the pork roll was cooked perfectly & to top it off we also had chili. It's a thing at Mary's just get it, you won't regret it! Our service was fantastic and we were pleased with the whole experience. I will definitely go back again! read more

Great quiche Lorraine. The best I ever had. Very friendly staff they make you feel at home.

Been going to Mary's since Christmas last year. I have tried their omelette they are ok their home fries could be better. What I love the most about them is their specials. I love the chicken parm and eggplant parm both have great flavor and their tossed salad with balsamic is excellent. Minus one star for service it could be better, sometimes it's empty and you have to seat yourself, get your own menu all while they look at you. Last time I waited seated for a couple of minutes and left because they kept going pass me ‍ if you're going alone I recommend sitting at the bar. read more

It was homey and very pretty!! We tried a blueberry pancake and it was great! Have to have blueberry in Hammonton!! Ordered the eggs with a thick slice of fried bologna. It was different so I had too. It was very good! Our coffee was always full and everyone was friendly. We will definitely go back . read more

I've heard about this spot for years when I was working in the area, and had the chance to stop in late morning.THE BEST HOME FRIES EVER! Seriously - amazing. All due to the old cast iron skillet only used to toast the surfaces of soft interior chunks of deliciousness. Inventive and tasty omelets and specials, awesome dishes on the daily menu, Lunch and/or Breakfast. The tender and fluffy quiche came with loads of bacon and a nicely dressed, generous side of spring greens. Eggs done to order - a soft omelet was, indeed, soft. Imagine Pastrami omelet with sides of Russian dressing and creamy coleslaw, and those amazing home fries! We were able to sit out back and it was a delightful day for it. We'll be back. read more

This was absolutely delicious, had toasted red pepper balsamic and provolone cheese omelette... just wow! Excellent food here!

Mary's Cafe - Italian Near Me - Hammonton, New Jersey

My husband, his sis and I were coming back from a drive down to Ocean City and we passed through Hammonton to grab lunch. We didn't know where to eat so I ask a couple sitting in an outdoor cafe and they said Mary's. Cute place. Very clean (I thought it was new) and the food--I ordered the sloppy joe--was PHENOMENAL. I haven't had a sloppy joe in years, but it came recommended and it because it was a combo of beef and italian sausage I'd thought I'd try. It was served with coleslaw and a cucumber salad, and it did not disappoint! I will have to go back soon, as I am now a fan. read more

I stopped by here with a friend because I've heard it was a really popular place. The restaurant is located in the small, but easily accessible downtown. We were immediately seated by a very perky waiter. The place was empty since it was near closing time. The place looked tidy but the silverware was cheap looking. I ordered a pepper & egg sandwich and the waiter asked if I wanted fries. I replied I did & got both promptly. The sandwich was small, not a generous portion of egg & pepper, but nicely cooked. The bowl of fries confused me, since I wasn't expecting this separate portion. The waiter never asked to refill my Coke, but I finished my sandwich quickly enough & wanted to get going. I got my bill & almost choked. Between an OK sandwich, Coke & fries (never thought the fries would be à la carte) & tip, my bill was almost $20. While I'm glad the downtown has one less empty storefront, I'll pass on Mary's. I'll stick to the Coin. Bigger portions for the same amount of money. read more

Quick summary: Good food but HORRIBLE service. I was in the area over the past weekend to watch the Challange Atlantic City and ended up in Hammonton since it was along the race route. After supporting the racers, my friends and I were looking for a place to grab lunch before heading to the boardwalk to see the finish line and (regrettably) ended up at Mary's Cafe. We didn't realize that the place didn't serve lunch on Sundays and our waitress was sure to inform us in the most rude tone ever that they only served breakfast. Her tone was the first red flag and unfortunately the experience did not improve from that point. Although the food was delicious, we couldn't help but continue to feel disrespected by our waitress. Meanwhile, she seemed pleasantly chummy to everyone else she was serving. When we were finished eating, a young man cleared our table and asked how we wanted to pay. We asked if we could split the bill 3 ways and he said sure. Minutes later, we heard an argument occur between him and our waitress about the bill because she was unable to split the bill (BTW, it's completely unprofessional to argue in front of your customers). The waitress then came over and continued to speak to us in an unpleasant manner. We offered to then pay with 3 different cards and write down amounts for her and she threw the receipt and pen down on the table, which was the biggest turn off ever. In the end, we decided to just pay with 1 card so we could get the hell out of there and far away from Mary's cafe as possible. She even had the nerve to say "Next time you come into a restaurant, let the waitress know if you want split bills" as if we've never been to a restaurant before. I should also mention that the restaurant was not busy so she could have taken the time to make us feel welcomed or to have at least handled this event better. I even signed up for a yelp account today just to write about how poor their service was. That's right--I went out of my way to complain about how horrible our experience was. If you don't mind being served food by a rude staff, then feel free to eat there. I hope people get a chance to read this before they decide to eat here. Reading the other reviews seems that other people have problem with their service too read more

I agree the food is great, but service is terrible. I went there with my wife on a Thursday morning for breakfast. I proceed to order the pepper and egg omelet (no mention of onions on the menu). It comes out loaded with peppers and onions. I ask the waitress about it and she says, "you should've known it has onions. Peppers and onions go together." I told her I didn't want onions in it and she said there is nothing she can do about it. She then asks me if I want something else and I asked to see a menu. By the time she got back to our table, my wife had almost finished her meal. The waitress then proceeded to act like I wasted her time bc she had to get a menu (took about 25 minutes). It's a shame the food is good, but I'll just pass by this place every time I see it. read more
