There are burgers, tacos, and enough vegan options to please my family. Mom loves to eat, so we ordered way too much and had leftovers for days. The space looks like it gets lively on weekends. There's a jukebox (Mom danced). It's your typical NJ bar and grill, but they've spent time making it look nice. The backyard looks like a fun hang. We bought a bottle of wine made for them by a local winery. It was inexpensive and tasted pretty good. I'd buy it again.

Live music set a fun vibe and a large group for a bday added to the party atmosphere. We had the option of sitting right by the singer/guitarist or by the door. We were actually fine sitting by the performer but the waitress offered to show us the "speakeasy" and we decided to stay seated there. It was a quick walk out the back door where there was a fire pit and an outdoor bar area then back into the building and up the steps where there were 2 small rooms with seating, a bathroom, and a dim, small bar with stools and a separate booth. We decided to have a seat at the booth by the window. Drinks were limited in the speakeasy but the bartender did her best to make comparable drinks to what was available at the bars downstairs. The drinks we did order were made very well. Wings for appetizers were delicious. Nice sized wings with our choice of Korean bbq sauce. Since it is a Polish restaurant, I felt like I had to try the Polish classic ... Kielbasa w/pierogi, served w/slaw & sauerkraut, mustard, horseradish & sautéed onion. Dish was flavorful and filling. For dessert, we had to get the funnel cake fruit pierogi - served with ice cream. Yummmy! Service was also great, despite how busy it was. The rest of the menu had other types of food (not just Polish) and it all sounded great. I also love places like this that have monthly specials. The drink menu also had a lot of unique and delicious sounding options. I'd definitely come back and the brunch menu looks intriguing. I'll probably give this place a 5 star review when I try more things on the menu.

I recommend the bacon and egg, or a custom cheesesteak and egg pizza. It'll set you back somewhere between $24 and $30 (it's worth every penny either way), with two slices being filling enough for one person's breakfast. Each one holds 12 slices, which may seem slender and "not enough," but it's a large pie and I've always had either enough to feed four people or plenty of leftovers. Not in a mood for pizza? No problem. They've got plenty of sandwiches, salads, and other offerings. All of them, delicious. I always leave with a pizza, a sandwich, and four fresh-made powdered donuts. Best family-loved hidden gem ever!

Our food was fresh and delicious and everyone there was so incredibly kind. They have the "fat" sandwiches like the grease trucks here!! The ones with chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fries and all that fun stuff. Next time I'm in the area I would come back for sure to try one of those. 10/10 would recommend!

Ok I read through all of the comments on poor service here. As we are sitting here finishing our…read morelunch, I have seen 2 employees- the hostess and our server. Our server, Kelly, was super busy, doing everything from bussing , taking orders, serving food, checking in on everyone, and taking care of payments. This woman was moving! She doesn't have time to sit and chit chat. She's busy making sure we got our food and it was served hot. Speaking of the food! I had the gyro with fries and my husband had the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and home fries. He said it was delicious and the gravy was homemade. I took a bite of his homefries and they were exactly what I like about them. Crispy, seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Kelly recommended the gyro and it was perfect. My salad was yummy with Kalamata olives (YUM), and feta that was softer- not overly dry like a lot of places serve. It was stored correctly- the way my Macedonian family did. The pita was fresh, the meat was juicy, and my fries were big steak fries that came out piping hot. I honestly have nothing negative to say about our meal or service. When a server is waiting on an entire side of a restaurant and your food is still served hot, that's something to pay attention to. Don't complain that a server didn't sit and chit chat with you when they are clearly busy getting your order. On top of that, it's a super clean restaurant, including the bathroom. We'll be stopping by on our way home from the shore!

The quality, flavor, and consistency of everything they make are outstanding. Every time I stop in, the baked goods speak for themselves. You can tell a lot of care and skill goes into what they produce, and it shows in both the taste and the loyal following they've built. The only "downside," if you can even call it that, is that there's never a lull in the action. This place is always busy. If you show up an hour before they're set to open, chances are there's already a hearty group of customers standing outside waiting for the doors to unlock. That kind of crowd tells you everything you need to know. If you're in the area and enjoy great baked goods, Hammerbacher Bakery is absolutely worth the stop.
