My friend wanted to come here for a quick bite and since I've never been to a MB's, I decided to also check it out. We got the Mash-up Bowl, which is mashed potatoes topped with popcorn chicken and crispy onion. I thought that the mashed potatoes were okay (it tasted like instant mashed potatoes) and the popcorn chicken was mostly breading. Service was quick and efficient (as expected from a fast food place). The store was clean and didn't have a lot of customers at the time we visited (around 8 PM). I'm not a big fan of fast food places so that does affect my rating! read more

It's one of those you would want to try once in your life especially when you already have a few favorite restaurants that serve chicken (e.g. Jollibee, Church's Chicken, KFC). The cashier was friendly. Tables were not as clean as you had hope for to think it was empty. I was there at 12 noon to grab lunch. Pricing was reasonable for what you get. Chicken was juicy. Fries were not as good as it almost looked like I had 10 pieces in the bag. Their coleslaw I am not a fan of because I could taste radish in it. Pepsi zero was not even cold. read more

The handsome young new Indian employee had amazing service and deserves a raise! Best cookies.

Fries below average and messed up my order I paid extra for all white meat and got a mix of white and dark. Pieces of chicken are very small too. Huge ripoff. read more

Very kind staff, food tastes great as always! service lady brought me water as I ate and overall very good greeting and service!

Covid #11 2.5 Rounded up. Well I had to try it out. It's OK, and it won't kill you. If you asked me, I'd say this is the Canadian equivalent of the Colonel from the US South. The texture is very similar. Soft kinda soft chicken skin with a Canadian maple leaf on the seasoning. It's similar but not the same as the original recipe US cousin. MB's is definitely not on the crispy side. It's a fast food joint located in a large strip mall. Limited seating during COVID, but you can dine in. read more

Why? 6 pcs chicken for $16 and nothing else. I got two flipping wings to boot! Taste? Bland side and definitely not on the crispy side. Didn't notice anything with the spice to write anything home to momma! Chicken texture more on the dry side at least for this batch read more

Had to try Mary Brown's and see what the hype is about that I hear and see commercials on. Picked up 9pcs, large pop-ins and original chicken sandwich. Very surprised that after 25 min drive back home and the chicken was not soggy and had crunch to the skin and moist too. Flavour of chicken was ok. Chicken sandwich was average. Taters was good and seasoned, not salty Ample of parking stalls available in the complex read more

Wow...I have not had such an amazing fast food fried chicken in a long time! I wanted to give this restaurant a try as I noticed this restaurant in the area. We were greeted right away. It took some time to decide on what to order but we settled on a two piece chicken combo (one spicy piece and one regular piece) and a Big Mary Sandwich. We saw staff sanitizing the tables between customers. There are only two tables for dine in seating at this time. Food arrived shortly after we were seated. Everything was fresh. The wedges were pipping hot. The chicken was tender and juicy. The spicy chicken wing piece was not spicy enough for my liking. There was hot sauce available. The macaroni and cheese was alright. The sandwich was made well with a good sized piece of chicken, lettuce and a good coating of mayonnaise on the bun. Kids even got a goodie bag for Halloween! Customer service was amazing. Staff checked in a couple times to refill condiments. Restaurant had covid precautions in place with staff wearing masks and plexiglass at the cashier section. read more

I've been here a few times. It seems to have improved recently. Place is cleaner and the customer services is top notch for any establishment never mind a fast food joint. I was served by a jolly Asian uncle who spoke very fast yet I understood every word and he actually brought my order to my table when it was ready! Chicken was delicious. Not too greasy and lots of flavour. Sides were good, especially the dipping sauces. I used to come to the area for Popeyes across the street but now I'll only come here. Better quality and value. read more

This is my go-to place for fried chicken in Surrey now. The chicken here is way better than Popeyes on 64 Ave and the KFC on King George. We have done take-out and dine-in. The coleslaw is always fresh. The tater (fries) is delicious and not greasy. I like its spicy fried chicken. When I say "spicy" I mean it! It is seasoned right and you definitely get the kick. The chicken is also not dry. The coating is not flaky but crispy. The staff is friendly. The store manager even asked about our experience when we chose dine-in. When you go to a fast food restaurant, you almost never expect anyone working there asking how you like your food. They have clean and spacious washroom. Both men and women's washroom have changing stations. This is very important to family with young kids. They win the 5th star because of this. read more

Mary Brown's - 3 pieces fried chicken with small taters (2 sets) - Chicken Shop Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

Thank You, Newfoundland !!!!! Been here a few times. Good Quality Fried Chicken. Tender & Juicy. Just the right seasonings on the skin. They hit the potato right out of the ballpark. Very good wedges !!! Best wedges I've had since Chester's fried chicken at some corner stores in the early 90's. Anyone remember Chester's ? Coleslaw is Solid. Goes great with the chicken. Too bad though there is no soda fountain. Only by the can. Would had liked a refill. Although a bit pricier, the quality is there. Will definitely come back. read more

Nanaimo store. Worst food experience ever. asked for a meal, got individually charged for things, thankfully I caught it. Food took half an hour to get. When we finally received the food, I was then informed that they were out of ketchup and napkins. the burger was so sloppy it look like a child made it. bun was squished, looked like someone stepped on it. Not worth the money in any capacity. read more

Omg the manager super rude, started yelling at us when we complain I've regarding a hair in the food. We didn't ask for refund or free food. Completely unprofessional. Please everyone stay away from this place. This manager has the biggest ego.. don't waste your time. Thanks read more

Chicken was ok, fries not so much. But what got me was the time to get it. I wanted pickup and didn't want to wait. The online ordering wasn't working, so I called my order in. They said 15 minutes. Got there, then, sorry we gave your chicken away. Another 25 minute wait in the store. And, you'd think they'd throw in an extra piece or so for the wait. Nope. There's a lot of other good choices around. read more

Awful - just awful. Even crappy KFC is better. The macaroni/cheese salad has no taste. The fries are the skinny ones like you get in a bag in the frozen food section. The gravy is typical canned gel. The spicy non-crispy chicken has so much cayenne pepper that no one here can eat it and we love spicy, but not crazy burning. Our mouths, tongues are burning. Time to get some Pepto Bismol. Brownies Chicken in Maple Ridge and Popeyes are far superior to this. What a waste of money and now, we have a "meal" that no one can eat. Glad we have lots of water and ice cubes. I'm wouldn't even put this out for the crows. read more

Terrible chicken to say the least. Then the service, 45min. for 9pc order. When I ordered there were 6 people in line, one couple arguing with the staff & manager over another order that was now 1 hour long. Yes arguing, the manager didn't want to give them a refund... yes, then ended up with their refund and left. Poor quality food, no flavour whatsoever, gravy had the consistency of & tasted no better than wall paper paste... Nope... not going back read more

Mary Brown's has become one of my favorite chicken places. I actually would say it is number 1 in my opinion when it comes to fast food fried chicken hehe. And it's because of 3 things: service, quality, and staff. We have ordered take out in person and through the food apps, and never had any issues. The chicken has always been juicy and fresh. Compared to the other famous chicken spots around this area, the chicken at Mary Brown's has never left me disappointed. Mojos, banana pudding, and even their big mary sandwiches are a must try! Yhe owner has always been a pleasure to speak with, and the staff are polite and fast with their service. read more

Came in to try the latest contender in fried chicken after paying $12.00 I though I would get a decent chicken sandwich. What I got was 2 small chicken tenders with hot sauce on it between 2 buns. What a let down I will not be back I expected a chicken breast sandwich not bit and pieces read more

Mary Brown's - The amount of bun as there was no chicken left tiny pieces - Chicken Shop Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

I had been going to this restaurant for take out for many months and now the economy must be getting worse because the owner of this establishment refused to place my pickles in a container on the side of my Mary browns famous chicken burger instead of on top making my burger soggy. Mr Ali not only refused to fix the problem but to add insult to injury, the customer that ordered after me who was a family member of Mr Ali requested mayo on the side and Mr Ali was sure to remind the back staff that this was a family member's daughter and be sure to not make a error. On the evening of March 29 after my disappointing experience Mr Ali called me at 930 pm to yell at me and take the position that he made a corporate decision to not allow pickles on the side of orders. Don't even bother contacting head office of Mary Browns because my complaint has fallen on to deaf ears. According to another review on Yelp made by Ivee J, Mr. Ali seems to yell at customers who make requests. Bottom line if you are related to this Mr. Ali you can get mayo or anything for that matter on the side. If you are not related to this owner, there are many Mary browns in the area I am sure they won't mind putting the pickles on the side or any other reasonable request. During Covid we are supposed to be supporting the hospitality industry but I refuse to support a owner who is rude and unreasonable. Do not eat here. read more

I love Mary Browns but we went to the store in 45905 Yale road Chiliwack the chicken was the first chicken of the day cold in the middle i'm sure it was rewarmed from the nights closing it also had no breading on it like floured down when i asked the guy working he said they changed the breading that store is a disgrass to Mary Browns! read more

Absolutely LOW-GRADE fried-chicken! Total waste of money and time! Hey Mary Brown, have some pride in your food!!! The 5 star-reviews are definitely written by their own people. There is no way anybody with a mouth can enjoy this awful-AWFUL dried-up-tasteless chicken! read more

The restaurant was overshadowed by the arrogance of the owner. The attitude we received from him was expected from staff but not from the owner. He will yell and embarrass you in front of others and when confronted instead of making the situation better he made you feel like it is your fault. His message was acceptable but how he said it was not how to treat customers who's staying to keep your business alive. Definitely a place i will never recommend to anyone. read more

thrilled to find a mary brown's here near vancouver! it's been decades since I last had it near toronto. happy that the fried chicken tasted as good as I remembered it...with a seasoned crispy crust, tender and juicy inside. decades ago, they used to serve the most delicious and tender skinny fries (I miss those!). now they serve taters with a crispy seasoned outside and a tender, fluffy inside. they go really well with the sweet and tangy coleslaw. it's refreshing and crisp, and tastes homemade too. the cashier was friendly and nice. the place is clean and inviting. read more

I used to eat Mary Browns quite often but due to dieting I never had it for a long time. Anyway coming back from Edmonton Through Spruce Grove I decided to stop and get a two piece meal to take home. I got my meal and wondered if I had the right order because the box was beyond small, Before I left the car park I checked to see if I had the right meal. Sure enough there was the two tiny pieces of chicken and a few potato wedges. Such a fucking small meal for a high price. Sorry Mary I don't care if you have the best legs or even the best breasts in town, we're through. I have to say I have since descovered Popeyes and it is great. read more

So me an my family go here a lot, an this location has made so much mistakes with our order. I went again trying to explain myself to the owner I brought my food back with my recipe. I told him this is your 3ed time giving me spicy Burger, an it's ok if it was for myself cuz I'm an adult. But this was for my kids an there both in tears crying because of how spicy it was. The first 2 times I didn't go back with my recipe or my food I just ended up making dinner for the kids an apologizing for there mistake. Any how, when I told owner of the store what happened. He throw the Burger on the floor an said , WE ARE BUSY AN WE ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE MISTAKES !!!!! I was shocked !!! How dare you yell at me for something your restaurant did. I was like I'm trying to tell you that I don't mind paying for another Burger but please don't add spice to it. He yelled again an said GET OUT OF MY STORE !!! I think this guy is on some kind of drugs - he clearly wasn't hearing what I was saying so I left. Very disappointed, I was with my kids an didn't want to argue back. But if my kids weren't there he would have had a piece of my mind. He has no manners, yelling at a lady with her kids. Disgusting never going there again!! read more

first impression ...over priced.....its not a new way to pressure cook /deep fry chicken ...sorry Mary but that was done many decades ago by a guy named Harland Sanders........... the recipe is only slightly different than KFC less celery salt and no turmeric .........the salads are worse than the chicken....payed $40.00 for a feast..... 9 pieces of chicken and a half pint of cold macaroni salad BLAH....dog wouldnt even eat it...save your $ go anywhere else for your deep fried pressure cooked chicken read more

First off, service was poor. Stood in line only to have a woman come in the store, butt in front of the lineup and be served promptly. The manager seemed a-okay with this and nothing was said, even though they had acknowledged me already. Chicken was actually very well prepared and tasty. Too bad we didn't realize that it's Halal chicken until after the fact and because of that, we will not buy Mary Brown's again. (Research Halal butchering if you don't know what it is. Ugh.) read more

I purchased two three piece combo meals for my wife and I today and the chicken and potatoes were on point. The chicken was perfect, warm and tasty with great seasoning on the skin.
