My ability to judge what constitutes tasty and affordable breakfast food may be forever damaged by the five years I spent living in New Jersey. Compared to the travesty that is most NJ diner breakfasts, Marvin's is excellent! My husband and I have eaten there twice. For basic eggs/bacon/hashbrowns/toast, I have no complaints. The homemade jam is delicious. (It's also awesome to finally be able to order sourdough toast again!) Haven't tried any of the non-breakfast items. read more

We came in for breakfast. First time here. My poached medium eggs were prepared correct and my bacon was nice and crispy. The jam was especially good. My friends enjoyed their scramble plates. This place is not a fancy one but comfortable. This morning the cafe was dotted mostly with old crooners jawing over their morning coffee. Service and food was good. read more

Marvins is a friendly place with a nice selection of hearty breakfast dishes and very tasty sandwiches for lunch. I really like the chicken tamale lunch fo breakfast because is is not too spicy and it fills me up. I also go for the two wheat cakes with nuts and bananas for breakfast. I went in and had breakfast here for the first time. The food was good but it was a little greasy. However, the water tastes bad, like it wasn't filtered. And the interior needs a little updating because it was a little old and worn. The service was great. I really did enjoy my omelette. read more

Excellent! We love the atmosphere and cozy seating arrangement. The service was perfect. Food came remarkably fast. We ordered a Taco Salad Bowl and a Turkey salad. The turkey was home cooked that day on site and not from a deli. Yum! Best Salad Ever! The Taco salad was amazing. So delicious! The crispy taco bowl was flaky and melted in my mouth. The beef was actually still hot by the time I got half way down the bowl. The portions were so generous we had enough to take home for another meal. Can't wait until we try another item from the menu. They close at 3:00. read more

Doesn't compare to the MArvin's in Petaluma, the service is slow and the food is bland. My advice go to IHOP, just a short drive but better service and better food. We tried the corned beef hash and it was extremely cold. No refills for water, all in all terrible experience. read more

The service isn't very good. The food is pretty good but it doesn't look like what you see on the pictures in the menu. Everything is pretty expensive it's about $10 for French toast with strawberries and bread isn't a very expensive item at a grocery store. It seems like the only employee actually working is a blonde woman everyone else isn't really doing anything, and our table never got checked on. Kind of a disappointment. read more

Had heard only good things by several friends and liked the idea of trying something different and something locally owned. Figured it must be something special by the crowds waiting to be seated. The first 2 times we ate there, the food was okay (not special or fantastic) but the service was slow. Several months later decided to give Marvin's a third try. Figured there must be a reason it is always crowded. Well, that was the very last time we will be eating at Marvin's. After waiting 30 minutes for a table we were finally seated in a corner by a refrigerator. While waiting an extremely long time to get our meal, we had to endure the constant trail of servers taking things out of the refrigerator and bumping the back of my husband's chair with the refrigerator door. It was unbelievable. Couldn't even say if the food was good that day. Just couldn't wait to get the hell out. Nothing to do but laugh, never go back and definitely not recommend. read more

My friend and I had breakfast there, he had the mexican eggs benedict, I had the biscuits and gravy. Food was pretty bland but edible, however the next day we both got really bad food poisoning, likely salmonella given the symptoms and duration. Never ever eating there again! Marvin's is the absolute best. Fast service and the food is very consistent. My favorite is absolutely the Mexican Benedict. English muffin topped with chorizo and a perfectly poached egg loaded with hollandaise. Highly recommend adding an avocado as it cuts the spice nicely. It is open seating, you seat yourself. It is not by any means a fancy place, but it is a local joint that is a great place for a tasty breakfast. read more

Marvin's has been around a while, I think they survive because of the steady good quality of all they serve. Priced are reasonable, service is good. Never been dissatisfied. No need to say any more. My favorite go to breakfast place! LOVE the Cotati Omlette (not a fan of artchoke hearts & they gladly substitute mushrooms or Ortega chili's for no extra charge). I was visiting friends in Cotati, CA and, based on YELP reviews, chose Marvins for breakfast this past Sunday. This was a great choice!! Although there was a waiting line (11 a.m. on a Sun), the time it took to be seated was not bad. The crowd was cheerful, the wait staff efficient and not stressed AND the food/service was worth waiting for! So, this place is well-deserving of the 5 stars! Enjoy your visit! read more
