it was our first time here and we were absolutely thrilled with the homey, country ambiance of this place (also has a very charming outdoor dining area)! we had just finished with our smog check (Advance Smog Auto Care Center on Redwood Drive-also higly recommend if you need smog/repairs) and decided to treat ourselves to some brunch (esp since the smog passed). i ordered the eggs benedict with chorizo and my husband ordered the breakfast sandwich with a chocolate milk shake. thank you very much for the recommendation of the breakfast sandwich, it was one of our servers favorite (sorry we did not get your name; pretty and petite with glasses). anyways, everything was delicious and totally hit the spot! looking forward to trying other goodies on the menu next time around! thx for serving great food (generous portions which we very much appreciate) and hiring great, friendly staff! Living in the Rohnert Park area for three years now, I can say Marvin's is my favorite place to get breakfast. I have never had a bad experience with the food or the service. I usually order an egg white omelette along with a white mocha (highly recommend for those who like their coffee sweet!). The homemade jams are also delicious. We went here to attempt to have breakfast this morning. We were served water, and they let us sit there for 40 minutes before anyone asked us if our order had been taken. The waitress came back 10 minutes later to take our order. We wait. Our son starts having a melt down because he's hungry, 6, and not very good at waiting. We wait some more. After about 75 minutes of waiting and no one checking in on us, no refills our waters, or touched up my husbands coffee. We walked. When my husband told them why we are leaving, they said okay. Not sorry. Just, okay. No idea what the food tastes like, as we were never served. I do not recommend this place. read more

I have gone to Marvin's a few times now and always leave not so satisfied. Last time I told the cashier that my eggs were horrible and all he could say was 'I'm sorry to hear that'. Today we couldn't get a refill on coffee, I had to get sugar from another table and had to go to the counter to get a to go box. The girl kept walking past us but wouldn't help us. When we decided to pay and leave, we had to ask someone else for the check. We went to the cash register and again, nobody would help us! We snagged the last empty table in the place when we here for breakfast. They were prompt in bringing the menus and drinks. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelet and my daughter ordered her standard huevos rancheros. While the portion sizes are generous, neither of us were impressed enough with the food itself that we would come back here again. Daughter practically had to saw her tortilla apart and the "cheddar" cheese in my omelet was no kind of cheddar cheese I've ever had before, it was tough (how can cheese be tough? Overcooked? Overly processed? I dunno) and a new shade of bright orange for the coloring crayon box. The hash brown potates weren't greasy - but they were only 3/4 of the way cooked. My pet peeve is slow, inattentive service. Cancels out decent food every time. Today's lack of service has changed my mind about Marvin's altogether. Waiter took order, delivered food and we never saw him again. We sat with finished plates that I stacked up on the edge of the table for 20 minutes. Waiter walked by us numerous times without a glance. I finally flagged a different server down to ask for the bill and a to go box. She told our waiter who finally brought our bill but no box. Been here twice now and I am satisfied, but not over excited. Marvin's is cute and quaint. Open from 7 to 3pm daily you got to catch it early, which you should since its a breakfast place. Cute little southern kitchen decor with limited seating. This place fills up on the weekends with all the Cotati locals (there isn't that much of us!) Its really the only breakfast place in town. Marvin's is the best! My husband and I go to Marvin's every weekend and my in-laws go every other week. We've included Marvin's in our weekend routine for almost two years now and every experience has been lovely. Liz and Erica are great servers and know us and our orders well. They watched my belly grow when I was pregnant and now they're watching our son as he grows--they feel like family to us. We joke that Marvin's is our son's third home (grandma and grandpa's is second). Service is always prompt (even when they're slammed) and the meal is always hearty and tasty. Prices are totally reasonable, especially with a coupon! They use as many fresh ingredients as they can and they even make their own jam, which is delicious! On Fridays, we're usually happy because 1) it's the weekend and 2) we know we'll be having Marvin's at some point. read more

I am not surer how i forget about this plisse so much but I do. I would love to go there more often but it never quite sticks in my memory. The few times i have gone it was a fun experience and the food was a decent. My easy over eggs were spot on, my toast was toasted, and my sausage was really good. This place is always packed and loud in the morning. If you get the basic eggs and bacon you will be fine. Not amazing but not horrible either. I would not recommend the eggs benedict. I tried it the last time we were there and it was awful. Why? Because they used packaged sauce. I didn't even think to ask if they used packaged sauce. Absolutely disgusting. Our son told us about this restaurant. This place is always booming with customers. It is very popular and the food is delicious. Since we don't eat meat, we ordered a veggie omelet that has broccoli and other veggies. Instead of mushrooms, we asked if we could have an avocado instead. They were very accommodating. It was very delicious. We also like the deals with their $1.00 muffins. These muffins were from the day before, but they are so delicious and you can't beat this deal for the large muffins. I've been here a few times and was excited to see it added to the restaurant.com website. The food has always been good for me and my friends, never a complaint. The only thing I can really complain about this time around was how long it took to get our food, we waited at least 15-20 minutes after ordering to get our food and we didn't order anything super complicated. I will say, the strawberry and raspberry jam they make is to die for, I could have eaten the jam all by itself w/ a spoon. Today I ordered the Cotati Scramble that I thought would be a scramble, but it was an omlette? It was great none the less, big pieces of chicken sausage, yummy spinach and artichoke hearts, not too much cheese, just the way I like it. Don't waste your time. You could make better breakfast at home even if you don't know how to cook. Everything is undercooked cause they are always behind. Went to Marvin's in Cotati today for maybe the last time. Omelette s getting smaller ;servings overall have dwindled over the last few years . We miss ole Cowboy ! He knew how to serve a hearty breakfast, maybe we'd pay a little more but back then it was still worth it ! And as things go service has dropped down to about portion size as well ! I have been to Marvin's in Petaluma several time so I was expecting a certain level of service, ambiance and quality... This wasn't it. When I arrived there was plenty of tables open but they promptly set us by the other entrance, every time some one came in or out I was blasted with cold air (it was about 48° outside). In a time span of about 75 minutes, our water glasses were never refilled and our coffee was refilled once, and that was only because one of our group of 8 asked for it. Had to go find the waitress for jam and the check but, the food was ok. read more

Hours are a bit strange; we arrived around 3 shortly before the diner closed, so we took our lunch to go. Zucchini sticks were HUGE (a good surprise) and offered as an alternative to the bland fries that we also ordered. The melted sandwich my friend ordered was soggy and gross by the time we got home less than 10 min later, but my tuna melt was fabulous. A bit difficult to mess up a tuna sandwich anyway though, isnt it? =p Menu had a lot of options. Will try breakfast there, as I hear it is much better. read more
