I was invited out to eat breakfast here at Marvin's. First time here, it's a cute breakfast/bunch place in Cotati. I got the chilaquiles with 2 over hard eggs. The servicing size is generous and it tasted home made. My friend for the Mexican Benedict, it had so much flavor and the potatoes were cooked to perfection. Our service was a great we got greeted as soon as we walked in and we were checked on frequently. They even filled our coffee mugs without asking.

Steak chilaquiles and breakfast burrito were seriously delicious -- huge portions, bold flavors, and everything tasted super authentic. The hot sauce packs real heat (you've been warned!), and every bite was worth it. Only downside? Prices are on the steep side -- but if you're hungry and want it done right, this spot delivers.

I was visiting my daughter who lives nearby and she brought me to Marvin's for breakfast. I didn't expect much and was pleasantly impressed. We arrived about 10:30 am on a Sunday Parking lot is quite full but we found parking easily. Happy to say that spots are decently sized so cars are too close to each other. We were seated immediately. Warning ... the menu is pretty big for a person with any trouble making decisions (me). I never asked if I could order lunch at this time (which I usually prefer lunch) I decided on the chicken fried steak since I love it and it's not something that I would ever make at home. Daughter usually gets the breakfast sandwich but went with the sausage and cheese omelet. Both came with toast and a choice of hash browns or potatoes. We both picked hash browns and they were amazing. Daughter opted out of toast and we shared mine. My chicken fried steak was amazing. Possibly the best I've ever had I tasted her omelet and it was tasty Hashbrowns were perfect An array of hot sauces were on table with we didn't need to request it. The cutest thing about this place was that each table had different and adorable salt and pepper shakers. Space was super clean. Staff was working hard and were fabulously friendly. I am looking forward to coming back on my next visit. Maybe even come for lunch!

Marina sandwich with shrimp, salad, tomatoes, avocado, and lettuce on woke wheat! I chose sweet potato fries as my side!

Have lived in the area most of my life and I've never been to Marvin's until today. It was life-changing! We will be back. The food was extremely fresh, service was great and a great little atmosphere.

Country Fried Steak breakfast with hash browns & over medium eggs. Also came with English muffin. Fantastic!

What to do when one of your fave brunch places is closed for vacation?! Keep researching for alternatives because we drove all this way up to Cotati. Thank you fellow Yelpers for your insight on Marvin's! As expected on a Sunday there is a bit of a wait for a table (just for 2 of us), but it wasn't bad. The place was very busy. There's counter seating for those who would like to be served more quickly. Since I'm trying to eat low carb I opted for their Joe's Scramble with a side of fruit and hubby went with their Country Fried Steak with hash browns, over medium eggs, & an English muffin. He said it was one of the best Country Fried steaks he's ever had. I enjoyed my scramble and the hot coffee. Friendly service with smiles. I liked it here very much. There is a bit of a wait for staff to take our order, but it wasn't terribly long. Looking forward to trying other things next time!

Standard diner with standard fare. We've had breakfast a couple of times. Nothing outstanding but good value if you don't want to cook.

Great breakfasts! Try Cotati omelette or scramble; sausage, sun dry tomatoes, artichokes & cheese.

The Grove - We tried everything on Happy Hour! Bang bang shrimp, Mac n Cheese, and beef skewers for the win

The Grove

We tucked into The Grove (with reservations) on a rainy Friday for an early dinner. Despite having…read morethree menus - drinks, dinner, and happy hour - choosing what to order didn't feel overwhelming, and we quickly landed on the anchovy toast, beet salad, shrimp & grits, and mushroom risotto. Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

The vibe is effortlessly chill, with whimsical decor--think antique lamps, an old record player, and lots of little details that make you want to look around. The whole place felt alive in the best way--buzzing with conversation, laughter, and people clearly having a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.

The flavor of the curry sauce was addictive. It wasn't spicy, just super flavorful. I ate way more than I I could handle, but that's because it was so insanely good. The vegetables were all cooked properly, to a soft comforting chew, and the rice pulled everything together. 11/10 would highly recommend! My only concern was that I would love to see a vegan option for something with french fries. Other than that this place was a nice gem. The guy working the counter was very friendly and has a vibe that could put anyone in a good mood.

I had to pick someone up in the shopping center, i was hungry, and i had seen this place advertised…read moresomewhere. It sounded good...smoking bowls. It was late, i guess 45 min before closing. Looking at the menu it all looked great, creative etc. i asked the server shot the food and he said oh everything is made from scratch., etc. we're got two bowls, the dragon bowl and the roast beef bowl to go. We got them home and opened them up. The roast beef bowl was described as being served over a bed of home made mashed potatoes topped with home made gravy and special horseradish sauce. Tasting it, it was a way too salty and the meat was so mushy it blended way too seamlessly with the brown gravy to my taste, ie it was all a mush of sauce over more mushy mashed potato! But i preferred its flavor over the dragon bowl, but definitely did not taste like a home made beef gravy from scratch, it was on the overly thickened by corn starch side, with that fake bouillon taste. Dragon Bowl looks good, topped with crunchy cashews that had slight rancid taste, and fresh green onion. And sadly, the chunks of chicken in it were hard, ie tough, precooked for who-knows-how-long-tasting; old tasting. And the sauce was way too sweet. I was disappointed with the $35 bill. We took the food to go. Once we tasted it at home we basically threw it all in the garbage. What a waste but, yuck. Sorry! Ambiance: The place was empty of patrons, and felt like it was closing now even though they still have 45 min. Our two bowls were ordered were handed to us super fast after ordering, like it took no time to prepare, explaining the poor flavor and quality we experienced, plus look at what others have written about all this premade fast food. I want to give one star, but I'll give 2, in benefit of the doubt they were trying to close early and rushed things vs if it were earlier in evening with more clientele.
