We watched and supported that transition, so this visit felt especially disappointing. We arrived when the dining room was nearly empty, yet waited **over an hour** for our meals. After no update, I went to the kitchen and spoke to the server; only then did the manager come to our table. By that point we were already upset, and our food arrived **cold**. To make matters worse, the payment interaction felt uncomfortable: the server stood over us with the little card machine while we entered our tip, watching as we decided how much to leave. Between the long wait, lack of communication, cold dishes, and that pushy payment moment, the experience showed a dramatic decline in both service and food quality. It's painful to see so much change and drama after years of loyalty -- I hope management addresses staffing, communication, and basic customer courtesy soon.

The chimichurri had a kick to it from time to time, but I still ate it because it was really good with the slight sourness I like! The guacamole chicharron was so crispy and flavorful! I would come back just for that. We also ordered from the restaurant week menu. I got the Flora di Zucca which is zucchini blossoms. I genuinely thought it would be pieces of zucchini cut into shapes of flowers, but it was the actual flower! It was yummy! When I seemed confused, they let me try their regular zucchini too! I got the soup of the day which was a creamy mushroom soup and upgraded the sirloin to the filet. Both were worth getting. The filet was a little more cooked than I liked, but still pink in the middle, seasoned well, and tender. Their mashed potatoes honestly might be the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They gave me a sauce to go with the meal that they couldn't exactly describe. I can't exactly describe either. It was good though. I feel like it was similar to stroganoff gravy, savory and sour and a hint of something else. I upgraded one of the sides to the strawberry mozzarella salad, but I did not care for the vinaigrette that came with it. The pistachio cake was not what I was expecting. It was ok, but didn't really taste like pistachio aside from the pistachio crumble on top and was slightly dry. For just the chicharron and the mashed potatoes, I'd come here again. But pretty much everything we ate was solid and worth trying.

You can choose to sit either inside or outside. We went with the Houston Restaurant week menu which features some of their most popular dishes. For the appetizer, we tried the sautéed calamari and gumbo. The calamari had a nice creamy garlic sauce which paired well the sautéed bell pepper, onions, and tender calamari. Their gumbo is solid, not too spicy and had nicely cooked rice and a mix of toppings. The rice had a good bite and absorbed the flavor from the gumbo well. I would recommend the sautéed calamari. For entrees, we ordered the wild caught king clip and steak Diane. The very buttery king clip comes with sautéed spinach and is basted in a creamy, slightly lemony sauce which compliments both elements of the dish. The kingclip is garnished with micro greens and comes with an extra lemon for additional acidity, but I felt that it wasn't needed. The steak Diane had a medium cook and was soooo tender to the bite. I would recommend both, but partial towards the king clip if you want to try something unique! Lastly for dessert, I ordered the passion fruit crème brûlée which had such a unique flavor profile! The tartness of the passion fruit goes surprisingly well with the warm vanilla custard. The texture of the creme brûlée toasted sugar top was perfect as well and added a really nice crunch to every bite. My friend ordered their sticky toffee pudding, which was arguably the best one I've had yet. The toffee syrup is incredibly rich and adds a nice caramelized flavor to the ice cream and moist cake base. It's garnished with bits of sugary crumble and fruit. You really can't go wrong with either, but if I had to pick, their sticky toffee pudding is a must try. All in all, such a fun and intimate dining experience!

Extremely Disappointing -- $250+ for an Experience I Wouldn't Repeat I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience at Marvino's Italian Steakhouse was disappointing from beginning to end. I took my family out to dinner to celebrate finally getting a new job after being laid off. This was an important moment for me, and I wanted to introduce my daughters to what I hoped would be a beautiful fine-dining experience. Unfortunately, Marvino's gave us a terrible first impression. We ordered the three-course meal and added calamari for the table. Then we waited. And waited. Nearly an hour went by before I had to ask our waiter, "When are we getting our lobster bisque and appetizers?" That's when we discovered our first course had been missed. By this point, our second course was already arriving. Rather than making sure we received the experience we actually paid for, the solution was to bring everything out together. The problem? Our table wasn't even large enough to accommodate all of the food. There was no way we could reasonably eat everything before it became cold, so we had to ask for the missed first-course items to be boxed up. That is NOT fine dining. While other guests around us were enjoying their full meals, courses, and desserts, we were sitting there waiting, asking where our food was, and ultimately taking an entire course home. The service itself was extremely inattentive. My water was frequently empty, and I had to wait far too long for refills. Empty glasses, used plates, and dishes were left sitting on the table instead of being cleared promptly. The table became so cluttered that there was barely room for the food we were actually receiving. I was also charged for a cheesecake I didn't eat and had to point it out and have it removed. I was already disappointed that I couldn't get the crab cakes I wanted, but what really stood out was the complete lack of urgency or concern from our waiter. And then there was management. This is where Marvino's really lost me. After missing an entire course of our dinner, management had a perfect opportunity to step in and salvage what was supposed to be a special family celebration. They didn't. No complimentary dessert. No discount. No adjustment to compensate for the missed course. No meaningful apology. No real attempt to make the situation right. Nothing. I still tipped the waiter more than I probably should have because I understand that mistakes happen and I didn't want to unfairly punish someone for circumstances that may not have been entirely within their control. But management absolutely had an opportunity to turn a bad experience around, and they chose not to. Then I got home and looked at the Marvino Rockefeller oysters we ordered. We had two orders, and they looked noticeably different from one another. One looked appetizing; the other looked completely different and far less appealing. After spending well over $250, that was just another disappointment. The frustrating part is that this wasn't just an ordinary dinner for me. I was celebrating a personal milestone with my daughters. I wanted them to experience a special evening at a nice restaurant. Instead, I spent over $250 and left feeling like we didn't receive the experience--or the level of service--that price and the restaurant's reputation should warrant. Things go wrong in restaurants. I understand that. What separates a good restaurant from a great one is what happens after something goes wrong. Marvino's had multiple opportunities to make this right, particularly management, and they didn't take them. For the price, the service, the missed course, the lack of table attention, the water refills, the inability to get the items we wanted, and the complete lack of meaningful service recovery from management, I cannot recommend this restaurant. $250+ later, and I left more disappointed than impressed. This was my first experience at Marvino's, and unfortunately, it will be my last. read more

I honestly didn't like the food. For my first experience here, I went to dinner here with my brother and sister. The people that manage my property own it so we decided to give it a try. I was so disappointed, it wasn't even funny. We sent back every dish. I felt terrible for doing it and I am not the kind of person to ever send a dish back, but it was that bad. I had the chicken marsala, my sister had fettuccini alfredo and my brother had the red snapper or something like that. It just wasn't good. We ordered desert at least because it was my sister's birthday and left. The chicken marsala was weird compared to other places where the chicken is served over noodles with a mushroom & marsala wine sauce. There were no noodles beneath, weird. I was forced into giving this place a second chance because my boyfriend's parents gathered us all here for a family dinner. Same disappointment. I ordered the Chicken Marvino this time and was equally disappointed. The chicken was dry and in odd chunks, not a typical breast or anything. The green beans were super bland and the shrimp was a little chewy. I will never go back. Sorry! :( The other restaurants in the chain, Alicia's and Dario's are amazing. I was surprised that this place was not equally as good. read more

Honestly the most DISGUSTING food I have EVER had. From the start, our waitress was too busy to simply take our drink order, then the bread was disgusting as was the sauce to dip it in. The first thing I noticed about the menu was how expensive it was. A simple noodle dish is over $20!! Since that was the most inexpensive item, I ordered spaghetti with bolognese. It was not very nice looking and it smelled very much like dog food. I took my first bit and the noodles were over cooked and then meat was chewy like beef jerky. My mom hated her meal as well. If I bring it up around her she looses her appetite and refuses to eat because of the thought of the food. Save $50 and go somewhere else! Also, it was so noisy because of the bar!! It looks classy but it feels like you're in a sports bar! read more

The food tasted good, portions generous and prices were reasonable & fair. The restaurant itself again, was relaxing and laid back and was very clean. All factors that made our lunch today very pleasant and enjoyable. What more can you ask for these days when dining out spending your hard-earned money? Tell them David & Amy sent you!

Been around since 1991 and it appears to have had no updates since that time. There is a funky old smell upon entering. The tables are all spread out for antiquated covid mandates. In fact, the booths still have the plexiglass dividers. The booths are old and uncomfortable. It's an Italian restaurant and they charge for bread. The bread is nothing fancy. Just sliced thin bread with some salty herbs on the top crust. The Caesar salad was tasty. I appreciate the homemade croutons (but those were too salty for my liking). They were out of the beef tips (at 5:30 pm), so we had the pasta with sausage. It was just ok. Nothing great. The bean soup was just ok. At first, I tasted "metal tomatoes" and then I thought Olive Garden's soup is better. I pause - haven't been to Olive Garden in about 30 years. Anyway, there was nothing wrong. Just not what was expected for an established and locally loved venue. I truly hope the owners appreciate my opinions and work to recharge and refresh their restaurant. I'd like it to be around for another 40 years. And I'd like to revisit in a few years and hope it's a better experience.

Our friends also enjoyed their pizza, and placed another order to go while we ate. Excellent pizza, fast, hot and delicious. The menu is varied, but not huge. Margherita, meat lovers Hawaiian and veggie pizzas We tried the Neri pizza and it was superior. They have all the standard items, pizza, calzones, pastas, salads chicken, dinners and home made meatballs that were worth waiting for. We had one picky eater who smiled from the time walked in until someone else paid the check! A rousing endorsement. Definitely a place to enjoy frequently, and support a small, local, family owned business.

I am so put off by most Pizza Resturants with all the sickening sweet sauces and their sparce toppings but these guys broke the mold. Great family business everyone was so friendly and accommodating. But the wedge salads large or small were the bomb with blue cheese crumbles and creamy dressing. Then there was the home maid pizza sauce was actually made with tomatoes and savory perfection. We finished the meal off with such a delicious bubbling hot bread pudding so saucy. I am definitely going back and have no problem recommending these guys. It's a large space plenty of tables to accommodate larger families and groups. I think these guys will grow and refine th
