Marvin was the only one to check our catch basin and notice that the way the gutter drain was set up in our catch basin, made the draining process less efficacious. Marvin's team regraded our property and effectively built us a new drainage system for half the price that I was quoted by others, just for regrading. They tested the new draining pipes to make sure everything was working and called me out to inspect everything and explain what they had done before they covered everything back up. They also essentially did a free clean of my patio on their way out, just to make sure everything was cleaned up. Highly recommend

I called several landscaping and ivy removal companies but he was the most responsive. He was also very kind and walked throughout my entire yard to double check if there were more spots where poison ivy was growing. There was one area in the backyard where I thought poison ivy had grown but he quickly identified it as another ivy. Overall the experience was quick and pleasant. He also offered the best value! I have to say that working with Mr. Gibbs and Springwood Gardens turned out to be a good experience. He came for a look at the property, gave me an estimate and made some observations as to what more needed to be done, suggesting that a failing tree be removed, and offering to include it in the price he quoted me for the original job, which was to cut back the many ornamental grasses that line portions of my property and to prune a line of shrubs. A day or so later the trimming and pruning job was done. It took just a few hours and the cuttings were hauled off and everything cleaned up just as promised. Took a week and a half or so for the second part of the job to be taken care of, which was the tree removal. It wasn't a big priority, so the wait was not an inconvenience. That day both Mr. Gibbs and his team were present for the job, and I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently the work was done. In addition to those jobs, the owner offered three extra services that he included in the agreed-upon price that added additional value to my purchase. He had some left over mulch from another job that he offered me. It was enough to refresh one bed. And while the crew was there he asked my permission to have them do two other jobs--prune the shrubs in my front bed, and clean up the leaves in the front yard. I said yes, of course, and all the jobs were done to perfection. So, essentially, he killed two birds with one stone: he kept everybody on his team busy with useful jobs and made sure that he gave me added value. That's what a good businessman does, and I find it commendable. This initial experience has left me open do to doing more business with Springwood in the future. In terms of pricing, they aren't the lowest priced landscape business around, but neither are they the most expensive. I know because earlier in the season I got two quotes from two other businesses. One was outlandishly high, the other offered me a quote that required I buy a package deal that included jobs I didn't want done. Regardless of my appeals, the estimator would not budge off their bottom line, which was too high based on the work I wanted done. I was baffled at their level of inflexibility. I won't be calling them back. Mr. Gibbs, on the other hand, was flexible and helpful in working out what needed doing, and went above and beyond to make sure everything happened right.

It sickens me that he took advantage of me in this way. He took the wooden edging, a flower box and killed a hosta plant that I had for many years. He even took the pot that I had it in! I never asked him to do any of this. I only wanted an estimate of what I needed done. How dare him to start working and discarded all the work I had done years previously! I don't know how much a Creep Myrtle cost, but that is dead too. I should have sued him at the time. Don't know if I can still bring a lawsuit?

The job was complicated and well done , with 5 men working over three days. Unfortunately the yard and grass got pretty torn up from the heavy machinery. Would recommend having this type of work done in the fall or when the ground is not so wet. But no damage to home or fencing and nice cleanup.

We reached out to them and 3 other certified arborists to get a quote on pruning 6 trees and removing 2 including stump grinding. East Coast was selected due to reviews from my local Facebook group and their middle of the pack pricing. When we selected to work with them, we revised the work to be 7 trees pruned and 1 removed including stump grinding. After confirming everything on June 13th, we didn't hear back so we followed up on June 17th. June 18th they said they would be out some time the next week. By July 2nd, we hadn't heard anything and had to follow up again asking for an actual date to be scheduled. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and completed the work as expected. The crew was great as mentioned before. When they completed the work, I reviewed it that evening and noticed two things. 1) The removed tree stump was not ground. 2) The yard/grass was heavily torn up. I was a bit shocked the yard damage was never warned or mentioned throughout the entire process. I decided to disregard it but definitely keep that in mind if you hire them and actually care about your yard. I reached out to them about the stump grinding and the proceeded to inform me they couldn't do it on the hill! Not once during this entire process did they ever mention that being a concern. The other 3 companies didn't even mention it as a concern. As a result I informed them the cost needed to be adjusted since they didn't do that work. I raised my concerns on July 11th and it went ignored until they sent me the invoice on July 20th. 9 days and not a word from them. I proceeded to inform them I would not pay until my complaints were resolved. They promptly replied to that (of course!) and said the owner would reach out. July 21st and I haven't heard anything further so I'm writing this review to help raise awareness and try to make them take this serious. I will update if/when they resolve this.

I have to give props to East Coast Arborist (ECA) for transforming my yard into something I never…read morethought possible. My yard began with multiple maple trees where the huge above ground roots engulfed 2/3 of my yard. They were so bad that I had to use a weed whacker just to cut my grass in many areas of the yard. In addition, the previous owners had carved out large landscaped beds without ever planting anything, and in turn became weed beds. I contracted ECA to remove three trees plus the stumps; an extra stump from a tree I previous cut down; grind the roots in the yard and grade it as well; finally, lay new sod. Initially they planned on four days however it took them only 3. Also, not only did they do the work that was proposed and agreed upon, they went above and beyond by streamlining all of the weed beds into much more manageable beds, mulching all of the landscaped areas, cleaning up existing brush, and trimming the bushes. They were prompt, tidy (leaving no mess behind), courteous, and professional. There were no hidden costs and the costs they did provide were very competitive, in fact beating many. For what I received, not only with the work they performed in my yard, but also good customer service and friendly staff, as well as a phenomenal price, I would recommend ECA to anyone. Also and in parallel, my neighbor used ECA to remove a tree and trim a few others. He, too, was satisfied. Thanks to John and his staff for providing such outstanding service!!!
