I think they have changed chefs recently, went for my brothers birthday, 7 people, everyone loved their dish. I had steak and lobster. I have not been here for over a year and we wanted to see what has happened. The Del Mar, made with Tilapia (fresh) and that awesome lobster sauce, the fish Soup of the day with a terrific cream base, the Crab encrusted grouper were spot on, but the sides of steamed vegetables and au gratin potatoes and the salads were nothing special but ok. The presentation and plating of the dishes were a bit lacking. Matt the waiter ( a great waiter) for 5 years here said the Crab Crusted grouper was number 1 seller and it was good. So why 3 stars? The sauces are key and they did a Good job, but the plating presentation & other flavors were a bit lacking for a fine dining place. Thought the pricing was a bit high as well but did not knock the stars down due to value. They are proud of their prime rib (12 hour timing so that is good) and she crab soup and they are good as well. But have you ever walked into a restaurant and you "feel the vibes" and realize it needs to reinvent itself to sustain growth as their clientele age? That is how I felt walking into Martinis in NMB. Why are they not attracting Millennials and newer clientele?The food is good but The interior and design do not appeal to a broad array of demographics (dated) and certainly if you were to go to Tampa/ Miami Beach, Charleston, the competition is intense so the restaurants in cities such as these continually need to up their game. Martinis is living on its laurels, which "ain't bad" but not attracting me to go there frequently. I sincerely hope the owners, chefs, "mixologists / bartenders " take a hard look as to where they want to go. The interior is too dark and not upbeat, the drinks are not following the trends and the atmosphere in total is a "choppy" set up. There is a room where a good guitar player (leaving for Tennessee) was playing but it was never set to the proper volume level as it interfered with the conversations and while it is not a night club, the music and room arrangements need to be changed/ I actually love loud music but a redesign and upgrade of the interiors are badly needed. Same applies to the bar and the Vinos. Very limited wine & specialty drink selections and while the obligatory Caymus and Jordan are on the list, wine selection is dull. Fantesca, Chalk Hill/ even a BV will improve), needs a dramatic uptick and also for pairing with food. Finally take a hard look at your drinks- boring list of martinis, specialty drinks and only 1 craft beer, come on. Push some of the local craft brewers in SC and NC!!!In my opinion the city of Portland OR has the sharpest drink "scientists" today and it is a small market. Here is some of what they are doing as mixologists/ this is also one of the top 2 states for craft beer. Grand Rapids MI is highest rated craft beer city so NMB certainly can do better! So what are the mixologists in Portland concocting? Start with the Quiet Man cocktail -- named for a John Wayne movie based in Ireland, this cocktail is made with The Irishman Founder's Reserve whiskey, and has hints of chamomile; the Broken Mule, made with Tito's vodka, Redemption ginger beer, and fresh-squeezed grapefruit, or the Broken Spoke with Dewar's single malt whiskey, Amaro Montenegro, and orange zest. The Mount Elbrus, with muddled strawberries, basil, and Stolichnaya vodka. Get inventive - the interior is cramped and The trend today is to be a more open environment. I like Halcyon in Charlotte and Andrew Shook was the mixologist there and is now at Aria Tuscan Grill. Awesome drink menu.Improve the drinks and expand on your menu as you can do it as I believe Martinis can build on what they have but it is staying dormant. Menu planning, design better drink menu with your mixologists, more open visual interior and play to a broader audience. Forget the Sinatra song "Do it My Way" and take a hard look at where you are. Take a page from Vault Martini in Portland that offers over 140 martinis and a great vibe- They do a Pad Thai: House Infused Ginger Vodka, Lime, Fresh Basil & Lemongrass; also a Habanero Martini: House Infused Pineapple - Habanero Vodka, Pineapple Juice, Fresh Lemon with Sugared Rim, also a Ninja Martini: Mazama Pepper vodka, Guava Puree, Pineapple, Fresh Lemon & Lime; finally a Ginger Peartini: Ginger Vodka, Lime, Pear Nectar & Cinnamon. Please shake it up more as you do a martini Shaker and get creative as I know you can do so much more! Considering the hot new drink in Dallas BBQ restaurants (the frosé, a fairly sweet rosé wine slushie made with puréed strawberries and simple syrup, more dessert than cocktail. This year, it's a featured drink, spiked with vodka) so Martini should be able to get a bit more creative across the menu, drinks and internal vibes if Dallas BBQ joints are getting this creative!!! read more

My money would have been better spent elsewhere. The decor was very nice, and the service was good. There was a live band, so the ambience was fun. The food was "meh". My wife had a steak that tasted fine, but was under cooked (medium rare should not be red and room temp in the center). I had linguini and seafood. The shrimp and scallops were average sized, but tough. The mussels tasted fine, but were pretty small. Our bill was $67, and that is with no cocktails. Went to check this place out on a restaurant.con certificate that I bought. I ordered the seafood pomadora and my husband ordered the prime rib. Our salads were old lettuce limp and not very good. The bread was very small pieces of what looked like store bought sourdough. Prime rib was VERY fatty had to cut off most of it and also had no flavor at all. The seafood was ok everything just looked and had texture of frozen prepackaged food. We were not impressed at all. Then they brought the bill and automatically added 20% gratuity which really set me off. I know ( and it said on certificate ) to tip on original amount however they had no right to auto add 20% for two people which was more than 15% on the original amount. Well this was like an old school supper club. My meal was okay-lobster tail and captese salad. Lobster was a little overcooked. My husband ordered the "special"-filet mignon with crabmeat asparagus and bernaise sauce with au gratin potatoes. SALTY SALTY SALTY. They gave him the seasoned rice to replace the potato but it was SALTY too! The funny thing was that the special was $8 more than the exact same dish on the regular menu. Took my Dad here for a celebratory birthday martini. He's selective and enjoyed himself. Paul, the pianist and a his lovely singing partner were wonderful to him and sang happy birthday. Definitely a 50+ club on Wednesday nights, so my 70+ Dad enjoyed himself. They've got a small dance floor, which was full with a few tourists when we got there. Menu choices offer a nice variety of proteins and side dishes. Food was fresh, hot and served in a timely manner. My dinner included the 18 hour slow cooked prime rib which hit your pallet tender as butter. Their Martini options which are reasonably priced creative and delicious. We are new fans of Martini. We have been traveling to the Myrtle Beach area for 50 years or more and always wanted to try Martini's. Man oh man are we ever sorry we put visiting Martini's off for as long as we did.Super!!! I am not a seafood lover. My choice of protein stands on four legs, eats grass, and goes "Moo". The filet and Prime Rib are superb. Atmosphere is great with the generally soft mood music except on Prime Rib/Motown Tuesday when the rocks with classic sounds of the Motor City. Prime Rib on $12.99 on Tuesdays...reservations recommended. My wife is not a vodka nor martini drinker(usually a fruity blue drink with a small umbrella). She was adventurous on her birthday and took our server's suggestion for a Birthday Martini....tasted just like a birthday cake. If you are in North Myrtle Beach, get to Martini's often. If you are in Myrtle Beach or south, make the short trip....you will be amply rewarded for your time, trouble, and drive. read more

This is definitely a hidden a hidden gem in the North Myrtle Beach area. Great service and food. We had the special of filet mignon with a crab cake. The filet was perfect. The crab cake was only average. I've had too many great crab cakes living in the Chesapeake Bay area to rate it any better. It came with a cream of seafood bisque that was fabulous. Great ambiance but pricey. Our 2-couple group all ordered the special: grouper with a skewer of 2 shrimp & 2 scallops on top covered in a bearnaise sauce. Included spinach and choice of potato; soup or salad. I ordered the twice baked scalloped potato and the server had to check to see if any were left. Restaurant opened at 4 pm and he had to check availability of that potato at 6 pm? Odd! The potatoes came out as a compact type of casserole square with cheese baked on all sides - weird concept and unappealing look! All ordered the she-crab soup instead of salad. Very thick and filling. Grouper was ok, shrimp were chewy and overcooked. We shared a cheesecake with raspberry sauce on the side. Our dinner for 2 was $91 without tip (included one soft drink). Yikes! I guess you are paying for the piano bar entertainment (we weren't in that room) or those that come are local Martini lovers. They had a $5 Martini on special that night.
