Destroyed my home and are refusing to fix it under their own warranty. Do not use this company. I will update my review should they decide to actually do the right thing. Update 1/8/2025: owner of soderburg: actually call me instead of being a coward. Also: your company installed the roof, gutters, and heat tape. You are hiding with Jack behind his lies. I have contract paperwork that proves this continued pack of lies. I will be updating my homeowners insurance with screenshots of this review, your continued lies, and my update as evidence. Yes, I yelled at Jack but Jack is a massive, provable liar. Also, I only yelled at Jack after a week of him doing nothing and allowing my house to get destroyed more by the day. Then the only good person I spoke to at your company, Kalynn, actually spoke to me and understood the problem. Do your company a favor and try to actually make this right. Update 1/9/2025: Guess what? No one called me from Soderburg, so yet another lie coming from them. Just to be clear on the timeline of events: the leaking started 12/30/2024 and I immediately notified Jack at Soderburg. He promised to send someone. Two people came a couple days later (not Jack), took pictures, but didn't fix anything. I continued to inform Jack of increased damage as I found it. I was told actual help would arrive on 1/6/2025 but no one called or showed up. On 1/7/2025, after days of Soderburg doing nothing, Jack basically said "not our problem," I became upset, and Soderburg doubled down on their lies. At this point, I do not trust Soderburg at all as they are not honoring their warranty, and my homeowners insurance is taking over. I have many, many pieces of evidence against Soderburg and they refuse to have any integrity. I gave them far too many chances to fix this mess and they did not. To the "owner's" point: yes, I did like the look of the roof this summer upon completion, but this first winter has proven that there are many issues that did not exist with my previous 27-year-old roof. Completely unacceptable. Update 1/23/25: still no contact from Soderburg via any means (email, snail mail, text, phone, social media, etc.). Homeowners insurance has completely taken over the case. Update 2/6/2025: Soderburg has made no contact still. Repair costs have already exceeded the cost of the roof. Our new contractor has already verified a lot of things Soderburg did incorrectly or poorly that caused the leak. We will see how much more damage we find and how many more issues can be traced back to Soderburg. Do not use this company if you want a company that stands by it's work. Update 6/25/2026: Soderburg has never accepted responsibility for their lies, shoddy worksmanship, acting in bad faith, or violating roofing codes. This is not over. Here is the owner's reply to my Google review. Tons of provable lies! Soderburg Roofing and Contracting (Owner) We did NOT destroy your home and your issue does NOT fall under warranty. You left us 3 unprofessional and condescending voicemails and a 1 star review before you even gave us a chance to reply. Not counting all the text we have to Jack. "Don't use this company" is what you said but we did an amazing install that was up to building codes with an approved permit that you were very satisfied. We have been in contact since yesterday from my knowledge but we will NOT let a customer or anyone for that matter to speak to us in a derogatory manner. Heat tape was installed and was NOT part of our roof install or purchased by Soderburg which caused the snow to melt and re-freeze in your gutter system causing your damage. I heard something scratching around in our chimney first thing in the morning. As an avid animal…read morelover, it immediately began to stress me out. I quickly began contacting our property manager (who continually proves to be worthless), animal control, as well as wild animal rehab centers to see if there was anything that could be done. Animal control came (super friendly and helpful), but explained that because our chimney was so weird, the only way to get the little guy out would be to drop a rope through the opening of the chimney at the top and hope it climbs out. It had been a really awful week, and this was just the cherry on top. Hoping to find another answer, I posted to NextDoor asking for help. Paul immediately replied, asked a couple questions about the chimney, then said, "I can be there in about an hour". We spoke on the phone and he made sure I was comfortable with him getting up on the roof before heading over. Sure enough, Paul showed up with his ladders and rope within the hour. I work from home, so I was unable to join him on the roof, but he took charge and immediately took action. He actually had to take a second ladder onto the roof to get to the chimney. I believe he even had to use some tools to get the chimney cap off before running the rope through. While he was up there, he found a squirrels nest outside the flue pipe. Ah ha!! Must be the culprit. Once the rope had reached down to the fireplace, he had me light some incense to help smoke the critter out. We waited for a bit and didn't hear any noise. He offered to leave the rope overnight and come back the next day to retrieve it, but at this point we figured that the squirrel may have been making noise up at the top of the chimney and was not actually stuck in the chimney somewhere. I felt a little foolish, but at ease knowing that there wasn't a little animal trapped somewhere. While on the roof, Paul also made us aware of the hail damage. We are just renters, so we hope our property managers are on top of that, but it was nice to know that he was also looking out for other areas that needed repair. He also explained what needed to be done to keep the squirrels from making nests in that spot. Paul is a kind and caring neighbor who went out of his way to help me with something I knew nothing about. The amount of stress I had been experiencing in the past week had really been wearing on me. Paul took that stress and turned it into relief. I can't thank him enough for his help. I highly recommend using Paul for any renovation or restoration needs. His patience, ingenuity, and kindness make him an A++ in my book. Thank you so much, Paul!!

And, as I recall, Steve came over to see me the same same day I left a voice message for him. I had an estimate two days later. How often do you see customer service like that? I hired Ayers Home Repair (Ayers Construction) to to replace fascia boards, siding, repaint, and to fix the mess another contractor had made of replacing my windows. Steve used to be a home builder, so he knows every aspect of home repair. He also knows what windows, paint, and materials give you the best quality and value for your dollar. They did such a great job several people knocked on our door asking us who had done the work for us. If Steve and his crew don't do it themselves, he can recommend someone he knows who has the same high quality work ethic. (I used someone he recommended to me for gutters, and he also did a nice job). So, for painting, siding, windows, or any home repairs, I highly recommend Ayers Home Repair. In fact, I'm planning to hire Ayers Home Repair to finish my basement next year.

What's worse is they don't call and say they are not coming. Each time they would call a few days later, or one time a week later, or two times they didn't call at all - I had to call them and ask why they didn't show up. The excuse was usually that they had other work that dragged over. I finally had to fire them. Don't hire this company if you want the work done in a timely manner. In fact, don't hire them at all -- you will be sorry!! I am very glad they did not get the chance to actually do the siding work at my home, as I have no doubt their work is as sloppy as their reliability.
