Went into the store to return a pair of boots. Was told to wait for a manager. 30 minutes later I'm informed that boots could not be returned, that they were "worn" (they weren't) and was literally snickered at on the way out the door. The manager never showed himself. My friend swears by this brand, but I'll be avoiding them from now on. read more

I'm visiting NY on vacation from Georgia, and one of my goals was to visit a Dr. Martens store, especially seeing that Atlanta does not have a store there and I've never set foot in one before. I buy docs online and all but it was nice to just soak in the vibe and I'll give a huge shout out to store associates Jackie and Jojo (hope I got spelling right), for being very friendly, helpful and conversational. Nice to shoot the breeze with folks passionate about the brand as I am. I did not see the particular model i was looking for, but i had to leave with something, and bought my first pair of Made in England 1460 boots. My friend and I came to New York for a weekend to visit her brother and go to a concert. What stared as an awesome weekend went a little downhill. Basically snow-apocalypse happened. I was not prepared for the weather at all and only had open faced shoes so you can imagine my feet were basically going to fall off. My friend very wisely decided to pop in to get Dr. Martens that she has been eyeing online and encouraged me to also look at some boots, so we came to this store. I was so blown away with the service here! Chawna the manager was especially accommodating and super helpful!!! She helped me find the perfect pair of boots. I knew I wanted some boots but honestly because of the circumstances I didn't really know what kind, but Chawna did. She literally just brought me some shoes she thought would be good and they were perfect!! I wear them maybe too much now haha. Chawna and her staff were so helpful and honestly saved my feet from probably being copped off due to frost bite. I would highly recommend people go to this shop for their marten needs!! This would be my second pair, and I wanted to take extra precaution this time with breaking them in. I was assisted by a Sales Representative named Arielle, that was so nice and accommodating! 1/1/21. Avoid this store. Bought $150 pair of shoes here yesterday. The salesperson Nate also encouraged me to buy $10 socks saying they would help me to break them in. Assured me the socks were the correct size. When I got home I took the socks out of the wrapper and held them up to my foot. They were huge. I read the receipt which said everything is returnable in the original packaging. I put the socks back in the wrapper and when I went into the store the same clerk Nate said he could not take them back and that I should "give them away to someone". Then he told me that they could not be resold because "I had tried them on". I said I held them up to my foot-- how else was I to tell if they would fit? I told him I never put my foot in them. He said there was nothing he could do. I feel taken advantage of -- I am complying with everything on the receipt and he has just cheated me out of $10 as if $10 should mean nothing to me! I would not advise buying your shoes here as I think the salespeople are only nice when they are trying to sell you something -- not when you try to return something, complying with all the rules on the receipt,. Buy your Doc Martens elsewhere. Avoid getting taken advantage of. read more

11an Saturday morning. We arrive at the tore a few minutes early with our 2 yr old. The store assistant sees us waiting outside, and acknowledges us, but then leaves us to wait for 7 mins (past the 11 am opening time - which itself is ok), but as my child becomes increasingly agitated at waiting the store assistant comes to the door, not to open it but to stick up a sign saying 'inventory in progress'. No explanation of how long we will need to wait. No apology. I need to knock and ask whether this means 5 mins or? To which he replies 45 mins at least. Doesn't common courtesy indicate that he could have told us that when we began waiting or at the very least show us some courtesy by opening the door to tell us what that means when he puts the sign up. This is a neighborhood, brick and mortar store that we were trying to support. But with customer service like that, why would we. Lost our business and I'll be sharing my experience with my neighbors. read more
