Fortunately, the perimeter of the store contains all the essentials that I may be looking for: Handbags, shoes, shape-ware, kitchen wares, men's wallets. I love this Marshalls! Has a ton of fan apparel for our local sporting teams: Northwestern Wildcats, Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox, and even saw a few Fighting Illini team apparel. There is also a ton of backpacks, wallets, winter items such as beenies, and hats. I recommend having at least thirty minutes to spare if you visit this place, because you will end up getting lost looking through all of the items, and better be prepared to spend, or either make decisions on what and what not to buy ; ) If your not into Marshalls; there is also a Old Navy store next door, and a Ross right across the street, but i highly doubt you will find anything greater than what's at this store. read more

So this review is based solely on their abysmal shoe selection for girls. I was looking for some flats to go with a dress for a little girl and while they have a ton of selection for boys, there was only literally 4 different styles for girls and they were all gym shoes available in 3-4 sizes. Very poorly stocked which seems to be a common complaint in other reviews. Next time, I will not even bother wasting my time driving here. read more

I have multiple Marshalls in my area that I shop at but this place makes you seem like your a criminal when you return items. My receipt even shows I purchased multiple items. I bought a pair of joggers for my daughter it didn't fit well. I went back 4 days later to return. Tags intact and all. It was even a yellow tag clearance $8. The cashier interrogated me asking which Marshalls I bought it at, saying she has to look up the item to make sure it's the right tag, telling me it kinda looks worn. I really felt insulted for an clearance item that's $8 dollars!!! and wasting my time... how rude read more

I love shopping at Marshalls... unfortunately it seems like every time I come to this Marshalls, I always run into the store manager, Ethel. she is very rude and totally unprofessional. She seems to not care that we are paying customers at all. I over heard an encounter she had with a customer who was still browsing a couple minutes before closing.., she started arguing with the paying customer that they were about to close and they had already organized everything so she told the customer to go pay and stop looking through the store now. I get it we all want to go home but her customer service is absolutely horrible. read more

A much better store than some in the area (Yeah I'm talking to you Morton Grove!) with a nicer layout and much better merchandise. I always find cool shoes and good stuff on clearance. Handbags and housewares are very hit or miss. read more

It's a good place to go to when you need designer apparel or accesories but not only to you have to dig a lot and make sure you go in an hour after they get their shipment but you also won't find the designers most popular for the season. To me that's a big turnoff coz what's the point of being cheap if you're gonna have a fashion from three years ago. I really don't like how unorganized everything is, and how the staff doesn't seem to care. Personally I only come here for the perfumes, which low and behold are also a season or five old. read more

So yes, it is much smaller than the the one in Chicago and definitely has a smaller selection of stuff, but the service here - by the staff and management is really great. If you are looking for something specific they will help you out and even keep an eye out for it, so you don't have to keep coming in and can just call to check....so nice. From shoes to purses, pillows and sheets, frames and lamps....they have all kinds of stuff. I also love not having to pay outrageous prices for major name brand items...you can't beat that! Just like any of the discount stores you have to be willing to parooze the aisles and can find some really great stuff...patience, my dear patience. read more

I would not recommend working at Marshalls in Skokie, IL. The one in Evanston is much better and the managers over there seem nicer. There is a very mean manager that works at the one in Skokie -- and if you have to work directly under her then good luck. She has a reputation for making new hires cry and quit quickly. She even made me cry once. I worked directly under her for a whole summer and she made my life awful. (Before that summer, I worked at Marshalls during other summers and was fine). She harassed me everyday on the walkie-talkie. I worked very hard and tried my best and it was never enough for her. I almost quit working at Marshalls because of her, but I stuck it out for the rest of the summer. Everyday, I was stressed whenever I got to work and had to work with her. Aside from her, all of the other managers were very nice. I'm mainly writing this review to warn other people who are considering working at the one in Skokie, IL and might have to work with her. Please take care of yourselves. Verbally abusive managers are NOT okay. I got paid alright for minimum wage. Working in retail is kind of stressful but if you're good with people then you can probably handle it. It does involve a lot of standing and moving, so you should first figure out if that is okay for your body. The Marshalls in Evanston is much better since she doesn't work there. (I would like to make it clear that I don't think she should be fired. But I do think that if she is going to work as a manager, she should be nicer to people. I love this Marshalls! It is usually clean, organized, and they get a nice variety of things, often, with new shipments. Their shoe selection doesn't every really appeal to me, but I go there for inexpensive career clothes and homegoods. The staff is friendly, and their dressing rooms are pretty clean compared to other stores who have fitting rooms. Even their bathrooms are ok here, which is usually a good sign as to how they care for their customers. I've found some nice clothes and dresses here, and even some fun socks for my bf! I have gone in the mornings and early afternoons, and it hasn't ever been busy...I have yet to try it on a weekend. It's quiet, there's plenty of parking, and the staff is good. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. The customer service here is HORRENDOUS. I bought a few items, and waited until I got home to try them on. Unfortunately, the $20 Guess bathing suit that I purchased didn't fit so I had to return it. It was a very hot day and I entered the store wheeling my infant son in his stroller. All that I wanted to do was exchange the merchandise for something else, or get my money back, and the supervisors stared me down like I were the devil himself because I was returning. They proceeded to accusatorily told me that the garment had been worn and was not resellable. I'm sorry, but this is not my problem as a customer. That's your store's for not providing quality merchandise that can stand up to being tried on. And if I had really worn a bathing suit, there wouldn't be any trace of wear because it would have gone in the water, genius. I then spoke to customer service, who are following up, but it still took the store manager beyond the 24 hours I was promised to get back to me, and when she did she said she was having "personal issues". WTF? Terrible, I will not be back here ever again. Good thing there is a nice TJMaxx close to me instead. read more

3 Stars for store staff. The staff was really nice and more professional than I have experienced with previous discount stores. Selection was terrible. No boys clothing selection (6-11 and not one sweatshirt, hoodie or jacket, sweatpants, running pants or gym shorts) , no designer denim or denim, and no outerwear for anyone? This store would do so well with more womens sportswear, boys athletic, and a few coats for the family in the North Shore! read more
