My husband received a shirt from my mother that did not fit. I went to return with the original…read morereceipt since they did not have it in the correct size. I was told all I could do was either return the amount on my mother's credit card or receive a merchandise credit. On top of it, she used a $10.00 Kohl's cash on the purchase. So rather than take a little off each item, they deducted the whole $10. What was the point on saving the receipt? I could have returned without the receipt and still only got the store credit, and not lost the $10.00 Kohl's cash. I feel like I was screwed for doing the right thing. Kohl's puts their customers in a potentially embarrassing situation with a returned gift. You look cheap if you used Kohl's cash and are forcing the customer to shop in their store for something they may not want. They hold your money hostage with returns. Next Christmas or any other time I need to buy a gift that I'll purchase for anyone outside of the family, I'll shop elsewhere. Their customer service was nasty too. When I called corporate headquarters to check on their policy, I was told I was a liar, no store returns for cash, even though I just returned items at Penny's, Walmart and Boscov's which did. Then when asked to speak to a supervisor, I was hung up on. Go on Kohl's, keep treating your customers poorly. There are other stores out there we can use.

She said the exact dress would be in Ghana for $30. I returned to the store and requested an exchange. The young lady agreed. Shortly thereafter, the store owner arrived. In a short time, she remarked that she doesn't like African-Americans because we don't mind our tongues. She also removed the $90 price tag. She insisted the dress was actually worth $150 and I would need to pay the difference. When I showed her the exact same design in a different color, also marked at $90, she changed her tune. Suddenly her workers were silly and to blame for such a low number. She begged, "please my sister, let's call it even". Nevermind the necessary alterations for the glaringly obvious flaws. I took the dress. I walked away feeling scammed and disrespected.
