I wanted to write a note of thanks to the staff here, especially Conlin (think I'm spelling her name right). We were here last Saturday shopping, but not for the happy occasion people are normally there for - my grandmother passed away so we needed a dress for her to wear for her funeral. Though we probably were a bit all over the place in what we were saying we wanted, Conlin did a great job of sifting through it, taking in the info from us and the pictures we showed of my mom-mom to give an idea of what we wanted. She pulled an option that was beautiful and we felt my grandmother would've liked/chosen herself. Conlin also helped us in finding some matching jewelry that complimented the dress. The cost of everything was actually pretty good and affordable in my opinion, considering it was a formal dress and jewelry. There was BOGO for the jewelry and, again, the dress itself was very reasonable. I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent experience with your store and to provide an update on my previous positive review. While Tyson was wonderful during my initial dress fitting, my subsequent experiences have been extremely distressing. On April 17, 2026, I drove two hours to pick up my wedding dress. Upon arrival, I was not greeted and waited for 30 minutes. After someone finally took my name, another 15 minutes passed before I had to seek out a manager myself. She admitted she had forgotten about me and the purpose of my visit, despite my having just explained I was there for my dress. This made me feel completely overlooked during what should have been a happy milestone. I did not write a negative review because the manager was so kind. Furthermore, I still have not received my veil. Although I paid for shipping, I discovered it was not initially sent. After calling to follow up, I was not given tracking information. Even when they stated they will email me. When I called today she gave me the tracking number and upon review it stated it was delivered on April 28, 2026, but it never arrived at my address. Previous communication regarding this tracking information was also handled poorly. Given the significant investment I have made at your store, I expected a much higher level of service. I also have my dress alterations scheduled in August and I do not want to even deal with this company/location. I am not sure how to move forward with this situation. So I definitely wanted to review this David's bridal because I have a mixed bag to share. My dress ended up being beautiful and in the end that was the most important thing. But the journey to get there was a little rough. I found my dress in January 2025. When I found my dress, I was told it had to be ordered. I believe the dress came in March. And something in my gut told me to go try it on when I went to pick up the dress. So thankfully, I took it in the dressing room, examined it and tried it on. It was in awful shape. It was used had pics through the tulle and dirty. When the manager got involved, she offered to order another dress never looking for the current dresses that were there. Thankfully, I found (not the manager) my dress brand new two sizes too big. The manager offered to take care of alterations on the top of the dress and quoted me $100 to do the bottom of the dress. My stepmother had graciously offered to do alterations on the bottom of the dress, but because Davis had messed up the original order giving me a used dress I decided to go ahead and let them do everything after finding my exact dress on the , and being quoted such a reasonable price to alter the bottom. So I followed their "eight week before your Date" rule and returned at that time to have my dress pinned for alterations. The pinning took about an hour, and the young girl took about 15 minutes to push all the buttons in the register to figure out my total. Again, let me refer back to the manager quoting me $100 to alter the bottom of the dress, and the rest of the alterations were on David's bridal due to their previous mistake. So after all this nonsense, my total comes to $445. So the manager comes back up (same manager by the way) insisting she would've never quoted me that price on a four layer dress. Mind you this is just the cost of altering the bottom of the dress, not including the top which they are responsible for. So now I'm livid. And feeling very stuck because they have to take care of the top of my dress and it's foolish for me to have to take the dress somewhere else to get the bottom done. I expressed to her my concern and all of a sudden now "let me see what I can do". So now magically the cost is $240. And I'm running out of time. My wedding was scheduled for June 14th. Thankfully the alterations department is a much better department to work with. They did a beautiful job with my dress. Very happy with the outcome!!! read more

I am in a wedding in June....I went to go look for my dress. But I was never given the chance to be measured for my dress. I paid for it and then while driving home I thought about my experience at the store and how I should have been measured or at least offered the chance to be measured... but when I called the store , I was told that comes later I was also told I would pay more! The customer service representative was advocating for the employee and not the customer.... She also had no knowledge of how to articulate properly while advocating for the employee who was dancing at the register while checking me out. I felt like I was not being treated as a customer who was preparing for a wedding.... But rather I felt somewhat overlooked. The white employee was giving the"treatment" to the white customer shopping for her bridal dress while I was left to help myself with no assistance from the black employees whole shopping for a bridesmaid dress..... Having been in a wedding before a while back, I don't remember David's Bridal being so lax and dismissive of customers. When i called the store to discuss how I assessed my experience, I was not taken seriously and that prompted this review. If my friend were not getting married I would have left that dress and found someplace else. read more

I decided to have a civil wedding on short notice so I didn't have time to purchase a dress from DB. I was surprised to learn that even if you don't purchase a dress from DB they will still give you a bridal experience. I went in for one or two accessories and the ladies were awesome. Ms. Wendy greeted me with a warm welcome, she was very helpful and recommended a few items that I didn't think about. She then directed me to Logan who assisted me in selecting my items while trying on my dress. Logan was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to work with. Her side kick Emily was an added bonus. Overall, a good experience. The girl that helped me out stayed within my budget, but was very stand-offish and not helpful in any other way. Something else that was a little unexpected was that the alterations cost as much as the dress. That might be normal, but I wasn't expecting that, especially since (in my opinion) the alterations were minimal (half an inch or so off the bottom, tightening the bodice a bit,...) If you are looking for a dress as the bride, a wedding guest, or for an upcoming even she will know all that you need. Honestly if i could give this store no stars i would . The sales rep Nicole was distasteful, rude , immature and all around a terrible sales rep. She did the bare minimum then proceed to gossip about my family while on the clock when she was supposed to be helping us . I understand that not everyday going to be a good day but come on ! I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the management and staff of David's Bridal, located in Newark, DE in the fashion center. First of all, I was taken back by the manager, Shayna, who was rude, incompetent and basically useless at a time that we most needed her attention. The issue was that we purchased a bridal gown, for my wife, for our upcoming wedding. We picked up the dress, took it home, and went to the wedding. Upon putting the dress on, we noticed that the dress was too long, cut in a ragged manner, and to our dismay, was never altered. We paid an exorbitant price for the alterations, and in fact, I felt like we were being hustled the whole time. Alterations Services were not rendered, as per our agreement, leaving the dress unfinished and useless to my wife on our wedding day. The reason that they overcharged me for hemming, is because the dress was unwearable off the rack! Hence, the need for alterations! We attempted to return the dress to David's bridal ~ when Shayna abruptly informed us that they would not reimburse us for the dress, in fact, she only offered us a partial adjustment for the hem only, which still makes the dress UNWEARABLE. The bottom line is, I purchased this dress in good faith, I trusted them to do their job, and they failed utterly. They showed no remorse for ruining my wedding day, and offered no compensation. There is no compensation for their incompetence, which ruined what was supposed to be the best day of my life. In closing, I would never recommend David's bridal to any future brides, and I would recommend that you never do business with these conmen. I will be going to social media, corporate, until this issue is resolved to my satisfaction, and I will be advising as many people as I can not to use David's bridal, for the biggest day of their life. See the photos below of where it was supposed to be hemmed, and the shards left in the bag. Note ~ we paid and agreed on a scalloped hem, and clearly there is no hem whatsoever. The entire point is that the dress was unwearable, the whole reason they sold me alterations is because the dress was unwearable off the rack, and without them altering the hem, the dress was incomplete, and as unwearable as the day I bought it off the rack. Otherwise, why would they sell me alterations? My wife was unable to wear the dress we bought from David's Bridal, on the day of the wedding, and we told this to Shayna the manager, and her regional manager, and received the same run around, neither of them would take responsibility, apologize or compensate us for their actions, and the consequences of their incompetence. Not only did they lack remorse, they further infuriated my wife and me, wasted our time the day after our wedding, by making us come back into the store with the dress, to no avail. I had a wonderful experience at this David's bridal today. Abby at check in was very peppy and made me feel excited to be there shopping for my wedding. Ask for Destiny for your stylist! She was great and informed me of the promotions but never making me feel pressured to buy something. She came with great suggestions and I am very satisfied with my purchase. First, they scheduled me for the wrong appointment and made me come back a week later. Before I left, I had asked the alterations manager how much alterations would be at most. She looked at my dress and told me no more than $600. Come time for the alterations appointment (again) and I had asked again how much everything would be before they started pinning and cutting my dress. She said no more than $800. When it came time to pay, they told me it was $737 total and I signed the agreement form. When I was checking out, that same manager who told me "it won't be any more than $600" told me "oh they forgot to add something so now it's $1007". It went from being "no more than $600" to over a thousand dollars. Where do they come up with these prices? Seems like a huge scam to me. I would never recommend getting any alterations here. I just saw many reviews now saying they ruined their wedding dresses. I hope to god my dress isn't going to be ruined when I pick it up next month. This place is a joke. I get that David's bridal is what it is and is not too quality. But, I feel like cheap wedding dresses combined with a cheap atmosphere is what led to my lack luster experience. We arrived checked in for our bridal appointment and was shown their bridal "showroom"by the indifferent front desk worker. Essentially it was three racks of dresses right at the front of the store. Barely any guidance was given to us. We started picking out dresses and made it all the way through by the time the assistant showed up. The assistant didn't help me get the dresses on and didn't try and help get the best view of them. Again, it felt indifferent. I feel zero connection with any of these dresses and settled on something I tried on somewhere else. The dresses look nice in theory but they are low quality. Most of the hems are unfinished lace or tulle - they look sloppy. I guess this is reflected in the price. There were some okay dresses but nothing that gave me "that" feeling. If you really on a tight budget, David's bridal might work for you but if you want that something extra, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I am plus sized, so I don't always have good experiences dress shopping, but I was so pleasantly surprised with the amount of size variations they had in all of their formal dresses. Midday Thursday, I met my sister here to go dressing shopping for her wedding which is 10 weeks away. My sister was looking for something less formal with a small budget. My sister didn't know she should have made an appointment, so we had to wait over an hour for a consultant to even take a dress off the rack. After 90 minutes of her trying on dresses, we found the dress that made her giddy!! But because the wedding is so close, they couldn't order the dress to arrive in time. We could buy the dress "off the rack" but she needed the next size larger. The consultant assured us that a David's Bridal in Massachusetts had the exact same dress in the right size and all we had to do was call the other store and they would ship it to our house. Problem solved. Or so we thought. After we left the store empty handed, my sister called the other store, only to be told they did NOT have the right dress... I wasn't expecting anything nice, because it's a massive chain store and our circumstances (limited time), but I thought we'd be able to find SOMETHING. read more

I went to David's because I have been in several weddings as a bridesmaid and the brides always seemed to have no issues. This was not the case for me. Our consultant Tesia was MIA for most of the time, and was not helpful at all with finding dresses or explaining things. She also fitted me for a dress, and when the dress came in it was a larger size than what I was told was ordered. After spending 750 dollars in alterations, the dress was still too big and when I said it was too big the seamstress told me "that was the style and she couldnt fix it without altering the style of the dress". Finally after getting the manager involved, no one wanted to admit if the wrong size dress was ordered and told me that they "couldn't fix the bad experience with my consultant but could try to make it right". Magically after the manager got involved the seamstress also told me she could fix my dress and I "should of just told her what I wanted fixed from the beginning". The dress required another 650 dollars worth of alterations (which they didn't charge me for) to take the waist in, and I finally had the right fitting dress. Unbelievably poor customer service from the moment I was picking out my WEDDING dress. I realize that these girls work in an environment that you deal with "the same bride" everyday and it shows! Blaming everything on Covid I guess it was a good excuse for the girl I was appointed to disappear. My mom had to keep asking her to return for questions... to size me properly! I'm not a needy bride I went in and grabbed 5 dresses to try on. The favorite dress was a size 10 and I am a size 0 I realize I'm tiny! But couldn't believe how she didn't even try to clip me in anyway! My mom had to ask her for more and more clips and we ended up answering our own alternation questions! In the high hopes I placed an order for this dress in March with the eta of July. Dress arrived a few months early and I got the call to "come get within 7 days". Full of excitement I made it 2 days after the phone call to pick up my dress! I told the girl at the front I'm here to pick up my dress! She asked what kind with an attitude! My wedding gown? Okay just one minute. This other girl comes out and hands it to me, "here you go!" I had to ask to try it on! With a huff and puff a girl says sure... follow her. She put my name on a door and said here ya go. I put on my dress with my friend and came out pulling and trying to take my dress in... 25 minutes goes by not one person asked if we needed help. Not one person came to check on me at all. In tears my friend helped me by going up to get someone to help. Finally someone came back with her and all she had to say is that if you need to schedule alterations I can get you scheduled. Again with high hopes I took the dress home to be properly fitted at home. But I didn't love it! I called to ask what the return policy was and whoever I spoke to over the phone said 70 days, I said oh good I thought it would be 30 days or so she said oh no you have time! Going into the store tonight I learned I must have misheard and miscommunicated completely to be led to find out it's SEVEN days! From PURCHASE not pick up not walking out with the dress! Now I see how they make their money. Now I'm stuck with a dress that I hate and hate it because of the experience! Someone should sneak shop this store and I'm sure you'd be shocked to learn their behavior! If I have to exchange this dress then you'll be sure I'll go out of my way to make sure I won't be coming back to the store in Christiana. read more

The WORST experience ever. I ordered a bridesmaid dress back in November and was told it would be ready in March (which is already a ridiculously long time) and March came and I still did not have the dress. I called customer service and of course you can't speak to an actual person, it all has to be done by text. So I explained to the associate that the wedding was still on for May 23rd and I hadn't received my dress so she asked for my address and told me she would ship the dress, great! A month went by and still no f****** dress. Onto the same bulls*** process of texting a customer service agent. Explained to him AGAIN what happened (mind you this is April and the wedding is a month away AND the dress needs to be altered, as most dresses typically do) and he asked for my address and stated he would ship the dress. WHELP HERE WE ARE, wedding day and I still do not have the dress....Corona virus or not, how hard is it to follow through and ship a f****** dress. I will never be shopping from here again and will spread the word about the horrible experience I had. read more

I had previously went to David bridal(6/15) and had issue with sizing, they had me try on a size 22 all they had in stock, they ordered me a size 18w which I had to pay an extra 100$ for, never found this out till already rung up. So I cancelled that order. I went back on 8/21/15 and found my dream dress and Kim was wonderful consultant and very patient I was tore between ordering 2 sizes she searched and found me similar dresses in each size and I tried them on and she helped me pin point what size to get. Terrible experience. We had a 12:00 appointment on a Saturday to try on bridesmaid dresses and weren't approached by our associate until 12:30. We had one dressing room to split. The place was so chaotic and the experience and the associate (forget her name)was rushed and not helpful. The dresses that they have available to try on (if you're lucky they'll have in your size)are all worn out , half are missing clasps,zippers were broken, and everything felt stretched out and dirty. So you don't really get an accurate idea of your actual fit . I was only limited to two dresses to try on because they didn't have my size in a lot of different dresses to try on. I had no choice but to order a size up from the one I tried on because the zipper was broken and I was afraid it wouldn't fit so more than likely I'll have to pay for alterations down the line. I don't understand why everyone automatically rushes to David's bridal for bridal needs because it's always disappointing. read more

I had an appointment at this David's Bridal on a Saturday afternoon in January, which was a mistake considering that engagement season had just ended. The store was absolutely packed. Brides brought their entire families. There was barely room to look at the dresses on the racks let alone walk around... It was so crowded that I cut the appointment very short and left early. I tried on about 4 dresses and I didn't enjoy any of them. My consultant was very nice and helpful, however. Her kindness and patience is why I gave 2 stars rather than 1. I'm glad I went to be able to cross it off my list... but I will be heading to Philly this week to BHLDN and Lovely Bride in Old City. Overall: would NOT recommend David's Bridal of Wilmington... very average looking selection and very hectic, even if you have an appointment. read more

My attendant Pilar P. was great. I came in to find a bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding that is in another state. The store itself is dirty. Needs to be vacuumed and just generally cleaned. There are no mirrors in the dressing rooms ( at least not in the one I was in) Not everyone wants to come out into the store half dressed to get help zipping up and to look in a mirror, especially if they're shopping alone. The dresses available to try on, do not look the best. Several were dirty looking and had stains on them. There were a few that had rips, snags and unraveled seams. They also did not have all dresses available in store that they had on line, even though the website listed it as being "in-store". The female's bathroom was disgusting. Didn't look like it had been updated or cleaned at all. Toilet seat was dirty and there was NO toilet paper. In a store that caters to females you would think there would be the utmost attention paid to the women's restroom. I don't look forward to returning to the store to pick up my dress. read more

I drove from NJ to DE to return to this store because I had a positive experience the first time. When I returned I had a 90 minute appointment scheduled. The girl spent roughly 20 minutes with me. She did not offer suggestions to any other dresses and only helped me try on the ones I had selected. She stood over me impatiently waiting for me to decide whether I liked it or not. She did not offer me a veil or any other accessories to help visualize the dress for my wedding day. When I had decided which one I liked I had asked for a consultation with the seamstress. When she came out she had told the alterations would cost too much. I asked her for a ball park. Again she said " too much" Truth be told I was asking for a number, not an opinion, so I had to ask her a 3rd time for a price on what alterations would look like, she said 600-700. It almost seemed like she was trying to talk me out of it. It felt like because I have a small budget, they did not want to spend the time on me because I wasnt selecting an expensive dress. I ended up going to a different store and had a much better experience. With a much better seamstress and was given a better ball park estimate. They had spent over an hour and a half with me at the 2nd store. The experience was night and day. read more

David's Bridal does have a pretty decent selection, and I did find my wedding dress there, but their customer service model needs some work. First of all, if you're expecting a tiny boutique, Say Yes to the Dress, totally personalized experience, you'll be disappointed, but if you come in with realistic expectations, it's not a bad place to shop. My sales attendant was very sweet and trying very hard, but David's simply overbooks their employees, so she was attending to at least 2-3 other people at the same time. They ask you not to get in and out of wedding dresses by yourself so you don't accidentally damage or lose anything, so that means you'll have to wait between dresses. They also ask you not to take dresses off the racks yourself, but the sales attendants are so busy, you kind of have to if you want to try on any new dresses. The dress I eventually bought was one my friend grabbed of the rack! The thing that was most frustrating was that it was so crowded that there were literally no chairs for my two best friends to sit in during my 2 hour appointment! When I mentioned this to the staff, they just kind of shrugged and said, "Sorry they're all being used." Meanwhile there are very large families of young teenagers trying on prom/quinceañera dresses who are taking up all the seats. David's needs to limit the number of appointments made for the same time and limit the number of spectators because it really gets out of control. By the end though, some seats freed up, and my sales attendant had a bit more time, and I found the right dress. The staff were friendly and helpful overall, and I found a reasonably priced, beautiful dress in my size that I bought off the rack and took home that day. In summary: good selection, helpful and friendly staff, reasonable prices, able to buy off rack, but overbooked and crowded on weekends. read more

Brides Beware!!  They ruined my wedding!  The single most important day of my life, that I planned and planned for and spent so much time and money on.  I purchased a dress from them, and of course it needed alterations, which they had me come in and set up.  Including, of course, a hem!  You cannot wear a wedding dress that is not hemmed.  I paid $888.90 for the dress and $560 for their alterations, which they charged me in advance.  We picked up the dress after the pick up time when it was promised to be ready ~ and when I arrived at my wedding venue yesterday, and prepared to walk down the aisle, you cannot imagine my horror when the dress was not altered as promised, as paid for ~ the hem was cut with a scissor, all raggedy, long threads hanging all over ~ waaaaaay too long to walk down the aisle in without tripping over.  I was absolutely devastated to tears ~ I had to wear an off the rack Nordstrom dress that was for the after party, because there was no way to wear this dress without a hem!!  So today I called the manager ~ Shayna ~ who was so rude and snippy with me ~ she had me come all the way back into the store ~ made me put the dress back on ~ had the seamstress come out ~ and no one would acknowledge or apologize !  Finally I had to keep repeating, there is no hem!!  There is no hem!!  You did not do your job!  They were antagonizing me and upsetting me even further!!  Finally, the admitted, without apology that they didn't do the hem, but refused to re-imburse me!!  So they ruined my wedding, bullied me in the store, and tried to con me repeatedly ~  I am absolutely aghast that this company is so unethical.  Straight up con people.  Do not trust them with the most important day of your life!!!  Shayna was the most unprofessional manager, she made their incompetence, ruining my wedding, so much worse by antagonizing me and refusing to apologize for what they had done!!  I hope I can save as many brides as possible with this warning, because I can never get my wedding day back. read more

Felt so uncomfortable here. It was so hot in the store and my mother was sweating bullets. Was like a circus and too many crazy people shouting and children/infants on the floors. Didn't feel at ease.The consultant was too loud and made me nervous. Never again. read more

Sunday 10/12/14 we had the pleasure of shopping at Davids Bridal. Our appointment was at 12:30. They weren't prompt and courteous. Our bridal assistant was Wanda. She was the most amazing, quick and courteous person. Her easy going personality and quick ability to assess our wedding party was amazing. She made our bride feel at ease and gave her excellent pointers and tips. Wendi was also part of the team and offered caring and valuable information. I can not say enough about the superior care we received. Wanda stayed with us from soup to nuts!!! Setting us up with alterations to payment and hugging us all at the door. I cannot possibly speak highly enough about the experience I had finding my wedding dress here. Samantha was my stylist and from start to finish she was excellent. I was nervous before my appointment since not only was it my first time trying gowns on, but also because dress shopping as a short AND plus-size person is pretty much always a nightmare. I never felt pressured, rushed, or uncomfortable during the entire appointment. In fact, Samantha's style of having me try on my favorite dress first and then try on a mix of similar and vastly different styles gave me a full picture and confirmed that the first dress was the one I wanted. I was shocked when I realized I was buying the first dress I tried on during my first bridal appointment ever! I was so incredibly happy with the whole experience and I walked out of there with a dress and veil that I LOVE. Thank you so so so much, Samantha!! read more

Ok, I didn't get the dress I ordered on David's Bridal online Shop. I was told 10 days shipping. 2 weeks went by, no dress. Emailed twice , 1st email was neglected. 2nd email said the dress wasn't in stock. I was so Pissed with their service. No one bothered to tell me either the order never been shipped or out of stock or what were available etc. My wedding was in 3 weeks. I got no time to get a dress. Luckily I found one on ebay and they shipped fast. Personally, I really think David's Bridal sucks, bad service ever, I shall say no service, no system, not organized at all. All they got was just the brand. The store 's decor was ugly, just little better than warehouse. Washroom was stinky. Service wasn't comparable to any businesses. I don't know why girls are so fancy about them. They aren't particular cheaper than others. Most dresses 's qualities weren't good or cheap material used. I had spent too much time waiting and looking and touching their dresses. To me David Bridal isn't more than a warehouse for wedding dresses with worse service. I suggest you never give out contact information to David Bridal. I gave them home address mobile number, and email. All I got over a year after my visit - Spams. They sell your information to other companies and vendors. I keep getting brochures, catalogs, coupons from everywhere. Macy's Target, F&R Furniture, catering service, jewelry shop...Wedding registry, you name it. Calls from Bridal expo, Bridal registry, Further education ... etc etc. Of course, all spams emails too. All titled my maiden name. There was brochure with a label of a NEW wedding date someone made up for me. As my actual day was passed. I say they just resell my information from parties to parties. You would never know who is/ are having your information next. How horrible and nasty is it. read more
