After feeling pretty good the past few days, I decided that I needed to get out of the house and the Yelp prom seemed to be a good reason to go shopping. I needed a belt and a few accessories. I headed for Ross but the fashion gods pulled me toward Marshalls instead. Both are priced for the working class, but lately they've filled the stores with a bunch of junk. And junk accessories was just what I was looking for. So I ventured. I don't know how it happened, but the gods put me in front of a 200 dollar Adrianna Papell beaded cocktail dress on sale for 49.99. (www.adriannapapell.com ) Ambushed by the gods! They'd surely punish me if I passed up a gorgeous dress by one of my favorite dress designers. What's a girl to do? The shoes suck here and they need to fire the person who orders them. I tend to think that they are just bought in bulk at wholesale auctions or designer dumps and put on the shelves. All of it. Dresses too! But I got lucky! I snatched up that dress so fast. I found 4 really nice shirts two weeks ago, one Kenneth Cole at 40 % off, one by Chaps and to more by Calvin Klein also at 40% off. I could never were these clothes before because my man boobs, muscles and blubber (all gone!) made me look as uncomfortable as I felt and, the cost was $86 and some change. I now am able to wear large in a shirt and at 65 pounds lighter and at 170 pounds I bring new meaning to the word svelte! I'm a 32 waist-30 inseam too as opposed to a 38 waist-32 inseam! My current weight is 170 pounds (lowest was 165 last week-but I fasted) and it is so cool to come in, try on new clothes and not have to pick through the XXX-XX-X Large section anymore. The two pairs of of Polo and Polo Club Jeans were also 40% off ($35 and change for the two of them) and, I'm so glad to sport them. I mean my pants and shorts would fall right to the floor without a belt (for all of the wrong reasons..LOL!) before. They really have cleaned up, reorganized this store and hired some very pleasant and helpful staff too. The selections are great and even the clearance racks had nice things but, I exercised self control as I upgrade my wardrobe for Fall & Winter and, in January for Spring & Summer. Also, I've purchased some very nice linens of good quality here and the walk down that condiment aisle full of goodies always gets me; especially if they have coffees, capers, seasonings and cooking items and the like. In this economy, Marshall's is stepping up to the plate and truly IMO knows that even those who can afford to shop at Nordstroms and other store's of the like, the merchandise they are providing is quality merchandise that looks as if you had purchased those items at those types of businesses. Monica P. takes a day off. Finally. I need to take more time off, because when you remove me from my safe beige cubicle with fluorescent lighting I don't know what to do with myself. I had the whole day to do whatever I wanted and what did I choose to do?? Shop for clothes, to wear to work. I usually go to Ross and never given much thought to Marshalls. I figured I'd go a little crazy and try someplace new. The store is well kept and organized. When I picked up a hanger from the rack that was labelled 'large' the t-shirt and the hanger was actually.....a size large. Imagine that!! The quality of the clothing is better too. There's the designer stuff up front as soon as you walk in the store...Michael Kors, Calvin Klein etc.... but when you venture into the larger racks in the middle of the store you have to sort through a lot of junk to find some gems. In my opinion, the shoe and handbag selection is not as good as it is at Ross. But I'll definitely add Marshalls to my list of places to shop at the next time I have a day off.....whenever that might happen. read more

I've only frequented the location on weeknights, but it is never overly crowded any time I've gone. The store is kept up pretty well considering its literally rack after rack of clothing. Things aren't just randomly strewn all over the place. Because they keep it up nice and neat, you don't get that overwhelming feeling like other stores of its kinda *ahem ROSS ahem* Here are my shopping recommendations for this location: Go for the active wear and juniors stuff, purses/bags, and home goods - especially the pots and such. On occasion you'll find All-Clad or Le Creuset stuff for pretty decent prices. Skip the kids clothes, shoes & intimates(not a huge selection and not that great of a deal). read more

My wife loves Marshall's so she spotted it on the drive up from the south. We both got some really good deals I picked up a very comfy pair of Puma sweat pants + Marmot winter thermal shirt (good deals in Cali on these) and she picked a nice shirt. The place can really be hit or miss and this time it was a hit but many times it can be a miss! Amazing how much old out of style clothing they have that they should just donate to a church fundraiser or give to the poor. It's amazing how many odd colours, odd sizes and weird finds you can seek out here! The only caution I provide here is that as most Marshalls, Ross and TJ Maxx tend to be a bit of a mess at times. I love Marshall's for cheap name brand clothes. I buy my husbands clothes and my dresses here. I also find cheap kitchen gadgets and house gadgets here. I love how cheap baking pans here and platters are for parties here. It's a great place. read more

I took a quick swing through the juniors and misses sections, and found very little I was impressed with. Also, they had a lot of stock in Small and Large, but not much for those of us who are neither here nor there. On the other side, they carried some brands I've seen at Loehmanns. They could use some mirrors around for customers to hold stuff up to themselves instead of having the workers put everything back from the dressing rooms. read more

Every time I shop here I always get weird feeling like I did something wrong. I feel like the employees look at me a certain way a very rude way. I usually come here when ever I'm around the area I bring my toddler daughter with me and we just stroll around but I feel the look like they think I'm about to steal something? I don't know I don't even bring in a bag or anything. But anyways today was it, I went to try on some clothes and the employee that was working there was so rude. I handed her my clothes I had 4 items she didn't even knowledge me she just counted my items and hand me the number card. My ass even said "thank you" and she did not say nothing back. Once I was done I handed her the clothes back for her to count and she wasn't going to hand back the clothes I said I was going to take something and of course being in a customer service industry I said "thank you" again and she said "uh huh" in a rude way. I have been here twice at this store that was cheaper and cheaper goods. It was named Marshalls. First, I've entered at the store for exploring their clothes to buy their cheaper ones lower than $30 for all clothing, shoes, undergarments, gadgets, and selections that are very decent. The Marshalls' employees, managers, and cashiers are very friendly. The restrooms are somewhat clean but not remodeled. The customer service experience is good with their computerized cashiers to pass are talking voices in the latest technology for paying merchandise. The clerks were friendly and the clothes were all on the racks, stocks are well organized and maintained, the entire store was air-conditioned and was cooling. So I will be back again if possible. Horrible customer service from Sally at the register today. She wouldn't let me return my dress saying she couldn't verify the tag even tho I had purchased it for this exact store 2 weeks ago and they still had the item on the floor in other sizes. I offered to get the one on the floor so she could scan it but instead she told me all she could give me is $13 store credit. I was fine with store credit. It not the 13 since I had paid full price. She treated me like I was doing something wrong and didn't communicate why it was taking so long. I've never had a problem retuning items to Marshalls before but this lady just had a bad attitude and didn't want to help. I've been shopping at Marshall's for over 15 years and never experienced the terrible customer service that I did today. I came in with a return and went to the front counter to leave my bag and get a ticket when the cashier Beatriz rudely barked at me that I need to get in line but then realized I was just leaving a bag up front and grabbed my bag without apologizing. I then had the misfortune of having to interact with Beatriz yet again when I went exchange my returns. One of the shirts I returned had some deodorant on it from trying it on at the store and at home. Beatriz threw a tissy fit calling over 2 people to look at it and of course they agreed that it could be returned without problem. She wasn't happy about that so she then proceeded to harass me because the shirt price tag was stapled to my receipt (which is the way they sold it to me since the tag had come off) and decided to go on a witch hunt to prove I was a thief. The worst part has yet to come...I returned a pair of pants (with the tag on which also had a receipt) but Beatriz took it upon herself to "run a scan" because she "has never seen this brand sold here" and also because she said "we don't attach tags like this" which is insane because the price tag was exactly that way when I bought them and there was NOTHING different about how it was attached compared to any other item I've ever bought there!!! I told her that there is no way they're not taking them back because that is EXACTLY how I bought them, not to mention the price tag and receipt were with the item! She decided to call the manager up front saying that I wanted to speak with him which I NEVER said but of course the manager was not free but luckily the cashier next to her who seemed a lot nicer and more senior in the company told her to just return the pants.. Lastly, there was no price tag on the shoes I wanted to buy (are you seeing a theme here with this Marshalls?!) and Beatriz made sure to take an extra long time looking for another pair of shoes (which of course there weren't any as I had already established when I looked). I told this cashier that I've been shopping at Marshalls for years and have never had these problems and her response was that she was "doing her job". Doing your job?!? I didn't know that doing your job entailed going out of your way to be disrespectful to customers and accuse them of stealing, my bad! My advice? I like Marshalls as a company but do yourself a huge favor and avoid this location- unless you like buying stuff that is missing price tags and being treated like crap by their employees that hate their jobs and take it out on you when you try to return things. read more

This is THE WORST Marshalls!!!! Their Merchandising Manager, Nathan should not be in charge and should stick with Merchandising and NOT customer service. I have been shopping at Marshalls for over 30 years and today was worst customer service experience I have ever had. Tell me why an item can be sold but can not be returned because the ticket or item number is "invalid"???? Makes no sense!!!! I've bought stuff from this marshalls, but the frequency of purchasing to visiting is something like 2:10. i agree with cindne w., who said that marshalls (or at least this one) has become a place full of junk. i didn't have any great finds recently, but i have managed to purchase a good pair of yoga pants and a speedo jacket...those are the only things that i've come away from this store with that are worth mentioning...i dunno...it's really dirty in this marshalls, and the shampoos/lotions are always open, and spilled all over eachother...ewww. read more

Usually pretty good selection of clothes and shoes, they've done such a great job now of trying to keep the place organize. At times it can be a bit chaotic insides especially so close to closing time and they tend to have limited quantity if each size, so that can be a bummer if there is something you really like. I can appreciate that tonight as the line was getting long each and every employee got on their registers to help, kudos for being efficient. read more

Love this Marshalls. I find something awesome almost each time I go there. I shop only on weeknights as it's much less crowded and cleaner. I bought the best workout pants I have found any where. I could live in these new balance pants. I also found a pink and black rose tunic top that my fashion clueless boyfriend kept telling me I looked amazing in. I saw the other reviews and got nervous to visit here. So maybe this is a rare occasion. It was super organized and clean. Staff was really friendly and a lady even came up to us in line just to make sure we found everything ok and if we. We needed to price check anything so the line would go more smoothly. One of my favorite marshalls...Very clean and organized. I would have gave it a 5 star, but 1 of the cashier was so very aggressive I trying to sign me up for a credit card after I politely declined. She literally ask me 4 times and I had to give her that look that I'm not interested. So from beginning through scanning through my items she keeps on bringing it up and got me very annoyed. This store location needs better managers. The customer service is awful. Employees are rude not helpful. The management here lacks experience with speaking with customers. Sad to leave this review to one of my favorite places to shop I hope they improve I hear people constantly complaing yet nothing has been done. My experience today was I purchased cute clearance items that were listed at 1.00 and some marked at 2.00 but were the same items. So I told the employee that they were identical they just had different price tags obviously I want to pay 1.00 vs 2.00 if that is the final markdown. I then told them that there was the same situation with another item I was going to purchase 8 of them so saving the extra dollars would make me happy. I advised the cashier and the manager did not come explain instead was lazy to do the mark down and said no they are 2.00 when I saw another customer buy exact item for the markdown of 1.00 so I wanted to pay the lowest price. ps the line was not long and I was not rude told them unfortunately I didn't know where the other shopper was. However in the future this manager could kindly explain to the customer instead of avoiding them and telling an employee to tell them. Especially when the customer is hearing the conversation and is 2 feet away. read more
