I don't know if this is the standard for Marshalls but it's not ok! My family and I recently went to the Marshalls store located in Citrus Heights, California (Citrus Town Center, 7975A Greenback Ln, Citrus Heights, CA 95610), and had a horrible experience. We were walking down an aisle when my brother (12) slipped and fell on a liquid substance. Now there were footprints throughout this aisle after looking at it, so this stuff had been there for a long time. My dad walked up to the front of the store and got an employee from the front. He told her he would like to see a manager. She wiped up the mess, put a sign out (too late), and went and got the manager. DEANNA, the "manager", came out and asked if my brother wanted an ice pack. She was trying to make the situation seem not as serious as it was. My mom asked her to fill out an incident report, just in case something serious came out of this fall. She then proceeded to ask my brother to pull his pants up, in the middle of the store, so she could see. (It was his butt that was hurt) There is no need for that and it was incredibly inappropriate to do in the middle of the store, and my dad told her so. She then went to fill out the report and took my dad and brother to the front of the store to sit down. My mom and I continued to look around the store. We went up to the front to find another lady speaking to my dad about the incident. This was GAYLE, another "manager". She was refusing to give us a copy of the incident report, which is extremely suspicious Marshalls! She even, at one point in the conversation, stated that they don't fill out an incident report. She came over to the situation with a rude and belligerent attitude that only got worse as the conversation continued. After stating that they didn't fill out a report, she then changed her story and said they do but that we could not receive a copy. GAYLE then said that she would "call it in" to Marshall's insurance company and that we would get a call back that same day. My parents expressed concern that GAYLE and DEANNA would not call it in, because their attitude was not appropriate towards loyal Marshall's customers, and we had no way to confirm it. GAYLE again stated that we would get a call back that same day. She continues to talk about the insurance company, and says, "I don't know if they're open today" (this was on a Saturday). I then told her that she had said different stories; she said we would get a call back from the insurance company the same day, and then changed her story again to say that she didn't know if they were open. She turns to me and says "Excuse me?!" in a condescending tone. I then repeat myself and she denies that she changed her story. DEANNA came back over and my mom says they need a copy of the incident report, especially now since we had found out that GAYLE was not honest. GAYLE, in her same tone and attitude, rolls her eyes and says she did not give different stories. So again she LIED. My parents wanted an incident report, or something from them showing that the incident did happen at Marshalls, in case there were serious injuries. GAYLE and DEANNA again refused, so DEANNA called the paramedics to come to the store. Never once did they apologize, they kept hovering around the situation, and going off to talk to each other. Both GAYLE and DEANNA were extremely rude the whole time of the incident. The whole situation could have been resolved peacefully if GAYLE and DEANNA from the Citrus Heights, California Marshalls store would have just given us a copy of the incident report or something stating that the incident did in fact happen. Looking over the Yelp reviews of this Citrus Heights store there are several complaints about the management at this store, so obviously something needs to be done. I don't know if this is how Marshalls would like their employees to treat a customer that is injured in their store, but I do know we will not be going back. I will also be posting this story on every site I can find that will take reviews of this Marshalls. read more

I would like to acknowledge the poor customer service and borderline discriminatory nature of the store manager, Laura. I attempted to return items without a receipt, tags intact. I was told by the TJ Maxx corporation and other sister stores that returns wouldn't be an issue with original tags in place for store credit. I returned items to Homegoods and TJmaxx in a similar fashion, without issue. Those managers were friendly and signed off willingly on those returns despite some purchases being over a year old. I'm happy to give them my business. This store and manager obviously don't take any pride in ensuring returning customers. Perhaps we didn't fit the description of individuals she'd allow to return. Highly disappointing to be treated this way. I'd rather drive to neighboring cities than frequent this rundown, condescending establishment. I can't imagine this store doing well financially. Poor inventory, the worst customer service I have ever received. If I could give zero stars, I would. Go to Roseville or Folsom. Update: Roseville did return. The manager was lovely and further explained TJ maxx Corp policies/procedures. Highly recommend Roseville Marshall's. I always receive wonderful customer service. Don't go to Citrus Heights. Worth the extra drive to go else where. read more

I love a bargain and it's amazing how much money you can save at any Marshall's. This particular location has a good amount of Puma gear for my toddler niece & nephew. They also have a ton of home decor at this particular location so if you're looking for accessories such as vases, this is the place to go. I usually go to this location for the fitness gear, compared to the other Marshalls around the area this location has the biggest selection ...but like any bargain store it's going to be a hit or miss. Especially this time of the year when all the New Year's gym newbies buy all the fitness gear. The only bad thing about this location is that they never seem to have any BCBG or Theory like the Roseville location. read more

Do not buy luggage from this store! My wife and I recently purchase some Sharper Image luggage for our trip to Europe. After one flight, one of the wheels had broken off. When we tried to return it, the manager said it was mishandled and Marshals was not responsible. If something had punctured the luggage, I would agree. However, luggage should be designed to withstand being thrown around by airlines. Even cheap luggage should at least last a few trips. If Marshals is not going to stand behind their merchandise, they should warn you when you buy it. Because of the way the manager handled this issue, We won't be shopping at Marshals any longer. read more

If I could give this Marshall's a no star I would. I walked in today looking for a new bra. I went into the dressing room with 6 bras & the lady working in the dressing room counted 7 & asked me if she was right & at the time I said sure because I didn't know how many I had & I had expected her to count right. When I came out of the dressing room with 6 she immediately scolded me & began to argue with me that I had 7 & I said no you counted wrong i only had 6 & I didn't know at the time, she continued to argue with me telling me I stole a bra & I told her she could check my bag, & the dressing room I was in. She took the bras I wanted to buy away from my hands (literally snatched them out of my hand) & proceeded to tell me I couldn't buy them. I walked away & said whatever. She ended up handing me the two bras back & said I could go to the front & see if I could buy them. I left with the two bras I bought & very angry & outraged with the fact that she told me I was a thief. I wish I had gotten her name & talked to the manager.. read more

I love Marshall's but they are not all the same. This one in particular is a hit or miss. They have lots of nice clothes for nice prices but I've been to others with a bigger variety on shoes, clothing, etc. I normally walk into a Marshalls or TJ Maxx and spend far more than I really intended. That was not the case here as any time I saw a pair of shoes I liked they only had 2 or 3 pairs left in sizes that were not even close to mine. Too big or too small. Clothing wise there were very few jeans and the rest were capri's. I know summer is around the corner but jeans are a year round wear. The store was pretty neat and clean I just wish they had better stuff. I will definitely be back to this location as I hope that since it's spring they are actually still in the middle of a major summer transition. read more

Whenever my husband and I go here, we find great quality items for such a great price. I love going here for basically anything. I've bought clothes, house items, etc., and have never had a problem. The customer service here has been great and I have been here multiple times. As well as they keep the store cleaned and well maintained. Definitely recommending to friends and family. read more

I've shopped at this store for many years never had any issues until last night. I went to the front and asked the manager if I can put on hold two night stands until I'm done shopping which I brought to the front myself. When I was done shopping I went to pay for them apparently one got sold . The managers response was "I'm sorry " and laughed. Not cool . When asked the cashier who made the sale she told me that there was no hold paper or anything attached . Very unprofessional. Dissatisfied with the service. read more

I have found some great things at this location, among one of my favorite things my coach boots :) Staff has always been friendly when I have shopped here and they have great deals. What a waste of time! I went there shortly after they opened. I picked out some clothing and when I went to pay none of the cashier registers were open. There is one female employee behind one of the counters, but you can stand in line forever because she is doing paperwork on a clipboard and does not bother to look up. Finally I get her attention and she starts ringing me up. No conversation or anything, I must have interrupted her clipboard project. In the middle of scanning my stuff, "Lana" another employee shows up and the cashier stops ringing my stuff because Lana forgot her keys and neither of them are polite enough to wait 60 seconds and finish ringing me up so I can pay and leave. Lana forget her keys :( so I have to wait while they talk about it. She continues but again, before I am rang up, the phone rings and she leaves the register to answer. The phone is not by my register, so again I am waiting and abandoned. The phone call is another employee and they started discussing the fact that Lana forgot her keys. Obviously there time is more valuable than my time or the sale of merchandise, so I left. I already know they really don't care. Apparently, the most important thing in that store is that Lana does not have to wait more than 3 minutes to get into the office, god forbid! read more

Great prices but the staff is underwhelming to say the least. Overall selection is wonderful and the store is clean and organized. Easy navigation to find everything you're looking for although I wish the reusable bags were easier to access rather than being hidden on you way out the door. read more

I was in here earlier today. I was paying for my items at the register and my son is sitting in the cart crying. A customer came up to him and said, "no one wants to hear this!" She then immediately walked out the store. The lady that was ringing me up said its ok. I told her that my son is autistic. The lady at the register was kind and understanding and another staff attempt to talk to my son and cheer him up. It made me feel a little better that the employees act like they cared. I purchased a mini backpack a week ago which broke today after using it for three days. I did not have the receipt but I did have the card used to purchase, the time, as well as my bank app that showed the date and time of my purchase at the citrus height marshalls. Before driving out of my way to return it I called the store and asked to speak to a manager and told her the situation. I made sure to speak with a manager so their was no confusion. She said to bring it in and they would determine then if I could get my money back or just store credit, either would have been acceptable to me. When I got there the store manager Laura was not helpful at all. She told me "this is not Kohls" and would need to know the exact register I was rang up at before she could help me, which wasn't stated on the phone when I called. Of course I didn't remember the exact register and she did not attempt to check ANY of them in order to help me. She also stated "isn't BeBe that store in the mall" as if I was trying to return something I bought elsewhere. Overall I wasted my time, left with no store credit or my money, as well as received horrible customer service from the store manager of all people even after calling ahead of time to avoid this type of nonsense. Won't be shopping here again and I have already sent an email informing Marshalls of the type of service I received by Laura. read more

Manger Deanna (i believe is her name) should get a new job that has nothing to do with dealing with people. The fact that shes the manager at this Marshalls is sad!! She basically accused me of stealing a baby outfit for $6.99 because I told her the employee didnt remove a sensor from 1 of the 4 outfits I bought!! Really?? Who steals a outfit for $7? A baby outfit at that!!! She offered zero help to me at all she spent more time basically calling me a liar then actually trying to figure out if she could pull up my transaction. I had my bank statement that showed the date, the time and the exact address of that Marshalls and still she offered no help at all. I never in a million years would of imagined id be accused of stealing a outfit for $7 but then also have the guts to go back into the store and ask for them to take a sensor off. I would think nowadays the people stealing would have figured out how to take the sensors off on their own. Guess I'll just have to wait to hear what customer services says on Monday. read more
