Let me be real with you for a sec.... Walmart's "glow-up" is not it for me I get that maybe they are trying to compete, revamp, rebrand... maybe be a little more Target adjacent, idk.. But these mannequins, not a fan. while the remodeled layout looks modern and clean, I actually hate it. I miss the familiarity. I miss walking in with pajama pants, unbothered and unjudged. Now it feels like I need to brush my hair and wear "real pants" just to grab toothpaste. The vibe? Off. The staff? Meh at best. No one's jumping to help you, but honestly, that seems to be the new standard across most retail these days. So I just pop in my headphones, stay in my own lane, grab what I came for, and dip out. Tonight I brought my son in to do a quick stop to pick up some grocery and body wash. Getting through the grocery was quick. Everything is upgraded and pleasant to look at. Customer service needs an upgrade too. As a Deaf adult it's already difficult to find cooperative service but this time a worker went out of there way to wave me down to be rude. I couldn't hear what she was saying but she looked upset. My son says she's yelling at us that the line starts over there. She was pointing and saying it again. I didn't want to be in the line I was passing by because the other side of the cash registers are where the body wash is kept. She stands in my way but I move around her and keep walking. My son kept asking why the worker was yelling. I get my body wash but skipped over self checkout since that worker was still there. Didn't get her name, just wanted to avoid her. We got in line with Audy, she was so sweet. I don't know the woman's name from self checkout since out but she was older and worked in the area around 8:30 on 4/13/2026 while Audy worked cash register 3. I bought a tub of macaroni salad here. I usually buy it on Raleys but since I went to get something else I grabbed this item to try. Tell you what, it was disgusting! It tasted like it was in a mixed and stored in a cardboard box although it was sold in plastic container. It was overwhelming flavor of some kind of container. To go back to return is useless since I have yo waste gas and time just to get my money back. And I know to return and tell them what's wrong with it will only get a shrug on their shoulder. I went there today to ask for empty boxes for moving. Im a older gal that worked in retail 30+ years and have been around the block a few times.I went to a stockroom door and I asked a person about getting some empty boxes after listening to me she abrutly said you cant be back here. I replied again to her as to why I was there. She clearly stated again her boundry as I was still wanting help. After pressing her again about why I'm there she told me to leave. So I found another receiving door in the front of the store with windows looking into that stockroom. I asked the stocker standing outside the door about empty boxes she said she would give some of the ones she had. I then peered through the stockroom door windows looking for someone inside another clerk walked up and said you shouldn't stand in front of the door because someone could be coming out. I replied that its a good thing there are windows for safety. I let he know what I was after and she clearly set her boundries. I can't and not once wanted to help. The one worker outside that door did give me a box. Other than that the help there does not care about helping. In fact the one gal that was abrupt asking me if I wanted empty boxes even though she gaslighted me about asking for moving boxes. In August 2025 Walmart was fined 5.6 million in a settlement for overcharging their customers. It seems they have not quite learned their lesson. Today I was charged $3.97 for their bakery cookies when they were displayed under a sign showing $3.37. When I pointed this out to an employee, she apologized but didn't offer help. She called another employee over who pointed out the customer service line to me and told me I could stand in that line to get my money back. When I said that wasn't great CS he told me, "well, that's the way it is." Fantastic. I stood in line for 9 minutes and there were still 6 people ahead of me. At that point, I gave up. That was a huge display of cookies and everyone who bought them was going to be overcharged. Great job Walmart. read more

When brought to the attention of employees, their reaction was sorry- go wait in customer service line to get your money back. Their personal shoppers needs some serious training. Seems like there is problem with every delivery order for the last 6 months or more. Either I am being shorted items or they are packing fresh produce with frozen items destroying the fresh produce. Recently (yesterday) 8.5.2025 I ordered a single ear of corn. See photo. Why would someone shop this item? I mean seriously would you eat it? If I didn't get free shipping with items purchased through walmart.com I would seriously consider dropping Walmart plus. I frequent this Walmart as it is nearby to me. I am grateful to have a Super Walmart near me and I do think it's waaaayyy better than Target haha! I enjoy the staff and strolling through the aisles looking for my items. My recent visit was last week when I went to look for the tamarind bites (see pic) and lo-and-behold I also saw the fresh tamarind...jackpot.!!! I I usually get a box from an oriental store but seeing at Walmart you know I had to get one! Overall, this is one of my go-to locations. I also go to the marketplace kind but for other shopping items such as toiletries, baby stuff or clothes, I go to this one. Parking can be busy as it is near the Costco and the developing plaza. I hope this area will continue to flourish and more businesses will come into this plaza. read more

Ever since the remodel, spirits have been moved from register 18-19, it's a monumental hassle to get someone to assist me at the new liquor lockup. Last Wednesday, I waited 35-minutes without a single associate dropping by. I know the "help me" call button works, because I could hear over someone's radio it was getting through, but no one responded at all. I had to track down someone to help me. I have restricted mobility and cannot stand for this long without a lot of arthritis pain. Management needs to look into this, please. read more

They have Friskies wet cat food (prime filets) for $0.77. it's $0.99 at Safeway. They have very affordable cat food. I have a cat and feed feral cats. The health and beauty section has so many products. Some I haven't heard of. I buy my hairdye here it's $3.21 less than other retailers. It's a Walmart. But in this reporter's opinion, it's the best Walmart I have ever been in. First off, they carry my FAVORITE Tortillas, which other Walmart's say they have but don't. They have the THREE smaller sizes but never have the LARGE ONES! Secondly, it's HUGE, Gigantic. They have EVERYTHING!! It appears to be VERY Organized. It's very clean and well kept. I found an employee and they helped me right way. The prices are good - just like all other Walmart's. It was very busy but the wait at the register was minimal! This Walmart takes about 15 minutes to get there, my local one is about 5. But all things considered I might just come here if I have a big shopping to do. Waiting for over 15 minutes after the pharmacist called for associate assistance was unacceptable! I was needing lancets, which were in a locked display in the pharmacy area. The pharmacist called twice and no one came! Walmart was not busy at all on this day - it was 530pm and this location was pretty deserted actually. I've only been in this Walmart maybe 5 times. There shelves are sometimes bare. Employees are usually friendly from the interactions I've had. My husband waited for someone to help him get something out of a case and no one ever came. Just a huge roulette of what will happen. read more

A second manager said truck came in and "dates" probably missed. Russian manager said someone would go back and pull the other cheese "recalled"--recall was his word. ALWAYS SHOP HERE FIRST! Here's why... I was out shopping for some electronics, and after having terrible experiences in specialty shops I decided to try the Citrus Heights WalMart. The items I was looking for were priced 50% less at WalMart, the items were of higher quality, and the checkout line was a 1 minute wait instead of 10. As I was exiting the Walmart parking lot my wife texted me saying she was about to walk into the Citrus Heights Walmart in hopes of finding some things she was struggling to find in specialty shops and more reputable stores. When she arrived home she told me how surprised she was by the Citrus Heights Walmart store. She was impressed by its size, cleanliness, and the success she had in finding the goods she was looking for. Had we tried WalMart first, we would have saved ourselves considerable time. read more

I like going in the morning (day off today), less crowd. They had a rollback on Mobil oil so we bought 3 of those. My man does his own oil change on benzie and G. Go here, plenty of parking. I've yet to try the pickup... cos I digress as I couldn't find a few things to order in one go- I rather walk in, grab, pay and go. This Walmart is the best of all Walmart. The staffs are friendly, hardworking and courteous. And, very helpful. The items on shelves are organized. Never found an overdue food items. I used to love this store back in 2017 as I've been a shopper here for quite some time. I also frequently visit the location in Carmichael but it's smaller in comparison. I've been using their delivery service for about 6 months now but yesterday took the cake for me. Ordered was placed for delivery between 6-7pm. Received an email and text at 6:38pm indicating my order would arrive within a 2hr window as it was delayed. Guess what? I waited and waited.. Nothing. No more communications, no groceries. I called the 800 customer service number to Walmart and was helped by 2 very nice ladies which I could tell they are not in the U.S. but nevertheless, we're very nice and helpful in canceling my order as it reverted back to being placed with no delivery time scheduled whatsoever. I think the service is going downhill already, and they were advertising for half off their delivery service which I declined, and I'm really glad I did now. I will stick to ordering from the Carmichael store as it's closer to me anyways. I just liked the Citrus Heights store as it's bigger and they normally have more stuff to choose from. Doesn't surprise me that this place has such a low rating, but I am surprised that he even has two stars. I bought something online and they won't allow me to return it in store. So now I have to waste my time dropping it off at a shipping center and Walmart is going to spend more money on the shipping than the actual profit they made selling the product in the first place. So tell me, how is it worth it to have an upset customer and to lose money on a product because of your crappy return policy? I found what I was looking for when I was here over the weekend while visiting Sacramento. My fiancée and I stopped by here after hanging out in downtown Sacramento because this Walmart is across the street from my cousin house. We came here to get some gift for my cousins kids and I needed a mask for my flight since they don't allow mask with vents. We found everything we were looking for and were able to just pay at the cashier right away. There walmart employees walking around the store, so they'll be easy to find if you need any help. The parking situation is great here since it's in a big plaza but just watch out for carts since people are lazy and don't put them back at the cart area. read more

Stopped by today to return a few items, and the wait time at the return desk was over 45 min. One cashier working and over 20 customers in line with no help in site. I asked the cashier if this happens frequently, and her response was "every single day". I wish Walmart management would value customers' time and help out employees when they see a line of customers waiting more than 20 minutes. read more

Went there last night with my two Grandsons one is 3 the other is 8 the 8 year old needed some pants as we walked up the the dressing rooms there were two ladies they had just put a sign on the door closed due to short handed as they were both sitting in front of them folding clothes. I asked if my grandson could try on one pair just for size the older of the two woman told me No I said please she then told me No and to leave. I asked for a supervisor she told me she was one I asked for her superviser she said no that she did not have to call anyone or give me the name. She then told me you should have gotten here earlier and just to go away . The way she spoke to me in front of my grandchildren was awful so much disrespect and attitude it was about 6;30 at night. will not be going there again and Walmart owes my Grandkids an apology.
