Small mom & pop shop with predominantly Burmese (Myanmar) foods with some American snacks and other Asian foods (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc). Great to have an East Asian/ SE Asian store in Citrus Heights! Lots of authentic Burmese products that I wouldn't know where else to get in the Sac area. Prices are a bit expensive but importing products from Myanmar is hard since the relationship between the US and Myanmar aren't great thanks to Myanmar being under the rule of a dictatorship via a military junta. The only con is that a lot of the Burmese products are packaged in Burmese with minimal translation so you don't always know what the items are unless you ask. Please go support them so they can stay in business and CH residents have a more diverse shopping experience / more options!

A Burmese aka Myanmar based grocery store in the heart of Citrus Heights. The prices are high, but understandable considering they're a specialty store for a country in the middle of a coup which has heavy import restrictions. Lots of selections of dried noodles, chips, canned goods, as well as big bags of rice and sweets. Parking is good as its in a dedicated mini-shopping mall. Has white clean floors and walls, it is very comfortable atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. My wife speaks Burmese, so no troubles communicating. But also where nice and spoke to me as well a bit in English. Come support local!

Finally an Asian market in Citrus Heights. Always wanted something closer to home then to Drive out south or to Roseville. They have lots to choose from just no fresh produce! Very clean and staff is very friendly. They had exactly what I needed for my Sinigang! Thanks Rangoon!

Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. Staff was friendly and answered my nosy questions; check out was easy and uncrowded. Worth a trip.

She marked it off and added a smiley face and told me to try it and tell her how it is the next time I come in. Love the layout of this Trader Joe's!…read more As usual there were a lot of shoppers in Trader Joe's. But it did not feel crowded even though I visited on a popular shopping day and time. If I were at my Folsom, Trader Joe's, I would be shoulder to shoulder with shoppers :-). The store was well stocked. Except for cottage cheese. I have found Folsom Trader Joe's to routinely be out of cottage cheese also. It is the best tasting cottage cheese I have ever had. I guess a lot of people feel the same. Additionally, this area, like Folsom and surrounding nearby areas, is experiencing a large population explosion. And I am sure it is a challenge to keep shelves filled. When I checked out, I asked about the seemingly different layout of this particular TJ and the chronic cottage cheese shortage. The checker said that cottage cheese disappears so fast they're only allowed to put out one pallet a day. And he confirmed that the layout is different than most Trader Joe's because they have a very creative, awesome manager who is really good at those type of things! Like my TJs in Folsom... customer service is wonderful here. And parking sucks:).

I drove out to this specific Safeway in hopes of maybe finding a fresh strawberry shortcake cup,…read moresince the ones at the Safeway in Folsom had barely any strawberries on them. I didn't find any of these, because they were sold out. They were also sold out of acai and various other fruit cups, which is good, because it means they're popular. I ended up grabbing a $6.99 premade rice bowl from the hot wok area, which was just closing down. I also found a mini quince fruit spread. As I was browsing the front of the store, I could hear a woman yelling. The police were called, and ended up taking her outside. As I was watching this go down, I could feel someone staring at me from behind. I turned around to see this guy Steve who I used to wait on at the country club. He used to stare at me that same way when I waited on him, too. I shuddered and hurried to the self checkout line. That man made me feel uncomfortable for years. I was suddenly in a rush to stuff my mouth full of spicy chicken. As I was sitting in my car eating the rice bowl and watching this woman talk her way out of being arrested, a man sped into the parking lot and almost crashed into me. He was there to pick up the screaming lady and children. The cops were letting them off the hook. My rice bowl was pretty good, except the chow mein noodles were a little bland. But it was a pretty good deal for $6.99. What a trip..
