I had over $500 worth of items in my shopping cart but abandoned it when I saw the checkout line wrapped around the store to the very back.

If I can give a negative star I would. This place used to be great to buy stuff you can't find elsewhere. But now like I seen in other comments, they have a lot of employees yet only 4 out of 15 registers are open. The wait can be from 35-over an hour. I've walked I saw the line and left. It's not worth the wait. And better yet mgt doesn't care because people spend more on the a-lines. Unless you're there by opening, you'd better buy quick and jump online because by 10-10:30 there's numerous people on line already!! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

A visit to this store reinforced my love of online shopping. They have soap dishes in housewares with higher IQ's than their cashiers.

I don't even know if it's worth mentioning as others have stated it numerous times before, but the checkout experience is the worst I've seen on a consistent basis. It doesn't matter if it's a Saturday at noon or Wednesday at 10:30 am, there are only a few registers open and the line soon wraps around the store. The wait is often 50 minutes or more so plan accordingly if you choose to go. I'm not sure what management is doing to address this (I.e. increase wages) but in the interim it's become the number 1 place that I avoid and just use Amazon or anyplace else instead. The deals aren't worth the time you spend in line. Line to checkout was wrapped around the whole store, probably would take an hour. They are never well enough staffed to handle the volume. Having two stores combined (Marshall's and HomeGoods) with one checkout area is problematic. read more

This is a discount store that sales a variety of items. They have a lot of stuff ( kitchen, bath, bedding, children, shoes, bath and body, work out, etc) you can get lost in this store for hours if you aren't focused and careful. Come for socks (7.00) and walk out with kitchen items, etc spending 150.00. Because there are so many items it can get messy and you may find opened beauty products, etc. check your items before you buy. It could be damaged or open, etc. they have a large shared parking lot and there is always parking. The staff are mixed you may get someone who is kind or someone who just wants to get paid. Overall they have good items if you are willing to hunt for the items. I haven't been disappointed in getting a deal. The store isn't the cleanest, but I guess that comes with the over abundance of clutter. Happy shopping! . read more

This Marshall's in Charlotte. It's one of my favorite stores to come to when I'm over in the area . This store always offer a great selection of clothing for the entire family. They have tons of products, that they put up daily. With this Marshall's getting multiple shipments in weekly, they have so much great stuff to offer to there customers. They have a clean store and friendly staff, it makes you just want to come back. :) They have lots of home furnishings and a ton of furniture. It's in a good location with other stores around. This store is horrible for checking people out. It's is 4:24 on Monday, July 1st. There are over 60 people in line and they only have 4 registers open. Been in line for 40 minutes. Do not come here unless you have nothing better to do than waste time standing in line. It's like this any time of the day you come here. March 2023 - after 3 years of the Pandemic and other great stores closing like Pier 1 and Steinmart, this Marshall's has NEVER figured out how to get the Check Out Lines Down. March 31, 2023 was a Friday afternoon and the line was Quadruple Wrapped, The Main aisle, then the 2nd wrap, then a 3rd wrap down the gifts aisle and then over to the MEN"S Clothes section! I left and came back 30 minutes later and NO BETTER! I left but not before alerting other Seniors like myself that they line would not be doable. AND warning others in the Parking Lot TOO! Marshalls could care less Im sure. And the shopping carts were all out in the parking lot. They are overwhelmed but maybe there is a patron capacity and the doors should be locked to the entrances for 15 minutes every hour to handle the load. read more

It's ALWAYS crowded here don't get me wrong I do understand why (HOMEGOODS & MARSHALLS together = Double AwesomeSauce) but in knowing that I just think they can do a better job at keeping a full staff I mean there's like 15 registers which could expedite the checkout process but only about 4-5 are open at any given time of day (even during the rush). The selections are awesome on both sides of the store and the variety is endless. My biggest hang ups are in regards to the lines and the cleanliness of the restroom which LACKS a changing table. In today's world and in this area in particular there are a lot of families. The store has infant and toddler clothing as well so I take it as "I can shop and spend money on and with my child BUT I can't get a decent space to change my child "? The really great marketing that this place has is the line area to checkout, it's filled with display after display of things to buy and while waiting on these long lines you can't help but fidget with trinkets, read ingredients on snacks, give your child something to keep their attention and patience in order,etc.. The employees just stand there and either eat food or pretend to do stuff and the lines wrap around the store whilst they do it. Ridiculous.

Super large Marshalls location, I think it felt larger due to the fact it is combined with the HomeGoods Store next door... If you end up wandering through the store, you can find yourself in one or the other... it's a pretty seamless transition. During my last visit all 15 registers were open and the line stretched across the entire store front (both Marshalls and HomeGoods!). It was about a 20min line, but I'm not sure what was the deal that day - I have a feeling it was a combination of Spring Break and people shopping for Easter presents. Along with the long wait for the register, there is a pretty involved impulse buying section that funnels you in towards the register. I guess it also gives you something to look at while you are waiting your turn. Probably due to the onslaught of people that day, the store was a little in disarray, but I have a feeling that it probably is usually tidy and organized. The parking lot here can be a little crazy just with people driving through (to nearby Target and other restuarants), so just be careful walking to/from your car here. read more

While not the closest to my House, I visit this location because it is one of the best (inventory-wise)as it has a full-sized Marshalls and a full-sized Home Goods attached to one another. Their Home Goods section has a great large area rug selection and lamps department. I can usually find items at this Home Goods that the other HG in the area don't have/sell. The Marshall's is your usual Marshall's. Great finds if you're willing to looking through the entire dept. which I am, usually. My biggest issue with this location is their checkout. The cash registers are not able to keep up with volume of business that they do. Today when I walked in - the line to check out was back to the Home Goods' door! Legit - there were possibly 50 people in line. This has consistently been the case for this location for the last 8 months or so. In the past, Ive suffered through this checkout line because I wanted an item badly enough and waited close to 35 minutes to pay, if not more. Not today - after I looked through the store - I ended up leaving without purchasing anything bec the line was simply too long. It doesn't matter what time of day that you visit. read more

Store is trashed, bathrooms smell and are filthy. What happened to this store??? Where is management?

In the past few years, any time I have tried to shop at this store, I take my time to select my items only to go to the register and find that the line is wrapping all the way around HomeGoods with only 2 people on registers. No matter the day of the week, or the time of day. Every single time the line is at least an hour wait, without fail. That is not an exaggeration. Either get self check out machines, or hire more staff. For this to be a consistent issue for years and nothing being done to fix it is absolutely ridiculous. Management and corporate should be ashamed of themselves for expecting customers to wait in those lines for hours. read more

Love this store. It can get pretty hectic on the weekends. One tip-if you see something you like, go ahead and buy it because it probably won't be there the next time! The store is pretty organized and you can find lots of options of stuff. Prices are good too. I love buying stuff for my home here. Let me say that I have NEVER been a Marshall's shopper, or any place like it because clothes seem to be everywhere and I just need more organization. WELL! I drove from University City to this location, on purpose. Can you imagine how many other Marshalls I drove by on my way? I can, but I don't care, and I'll do it again! I want to be specific as to why I love this location so much but there are some things that are just for me. Sorry, not sorry. While I don't head down to this part of town too often, I'm always game to check out Marshall's. And hey, HomeGoods is attached as well, so if you need some sheets, towels and homewares to go with your new sweater, game on. The Good: The variety in every category is vast and well stocked. I was particularly impressed with the denim and contemporary collections near the front of the store. J Brand, Sevens and Joe's for $39.99, cashmere scarves for $25-$50, cute jackets, quality brand names and a solid shoe selection too. The Bad: On a weekend, this place can be hell. Parking is ridiculous and, frankly, if you can get in and out without almost hitting someone, bravo to you. if I were a perfson who loved shopping then this place would most likely be one of my favorites. They have a huge home section for those who like the fru-fru fancy stuff, I am a plain Jane mostly (my favorite color is Charcoal grey- so there ya go) Sometimes I can find a great deal or several on clothes/jeans. But my biggest gripe is the childrens sections are awful!. they have hardly anything to choose from and it seems they never have my child's size! They do have a small selection of toys and pretty good selection of baby stuff, so looking a last minute gift for a baby shower or new birth then you are sure to find it here. They sell perfmues and colognes, air diffusers and unigue food and seasoning items. You can probably find a neat decor item for each area of your home. But for me who is a get in and get out kinda girl, I get tired of searching through racks upon racks looking for a particular type item. read more

The lines at this location is INSANITY. I went to purchase one item, and i walked around the entire store twice before the I found the end of the line. Let's be perfectly clear...that this is one of the best Marshall/Home Goods in Charlotte. They are fully stocked from clothes, toys, furniture, snacks, shoes, lighting, rugs I mean the whole gamut. There really ain't anything that you can not find in the amazing idea of a store. It's a mini mall if you will. The problem for me is the the store probably needs to be expanded or things need to be drastically rearranged. If you're into Feng shui this place isn't gonna do it for you, may cause slight anxiety in some folks. The aisles are really narrow and you barely can get through with your cart full of items. I've found it easier to park your cart and the base of the aisles and shop that way. It makes it a lot easier because believe me these folks in here barely say excuse me. And when you're exiting an aisle PLEASE look both ways because you're liable to become involved in a head on collision. Seriously!!!! This place is so good with their stick that it doesn't matter what time of day you're there, expect the lines to be ridiculously long. The good thing is that out of the 13 registers at least 10-11 of them are always up and running so the lines while they are long as hell, moves pretty quickly. And while you're waiting in line to check out, there's a barrage of knick knacks for you to throw in your cart and occasionally you can strike up a conversation with someone either in front or behind you. Do I love this store? Yes. Will I always come back to endure what I've just written? Of course!!!! I shop here often. Check all of your purchases before you leave. Out of the last 10 times I've been there, 4 times I've had to go back because they forgot to put 1 or 2 of my items in the bag. My favorite kind of Marshalls. The HomeGoods/Marshalls two in one hybrid! Weekends here are VERY BUSY, so prepare for battle. You will be nudged and even jostled. When you hear them call "All hands on deck!" they mean business; you may wish to abandon ship and head out the door. I get the impression that the clothing section/Marshalls side is more limited due to sharing space with HG. It is admittedly lots of fun to browse. Clearance sections on the HG side however, contain some pretty dinged up/broken stuff that I'm not sure anyone would buy. "What? This coffee urn with the big dent? Where did I get it? Only $20 on clearance at HG". You almost couldn't leave the store, there were so many carts blocking the outside door. Hmm... come to think of it, maybe they did that on purpose. If you can't leave, you just have to keep shopping. read more

When checking out an item on clearance, the cashier called the manager and she told me the item is not on clearance, as if I have placed the clearance sticker on, I grabbed the items from the bin to show her it's all on sale, she replied "yes, but this particular item is not!" I told her as long as it's marked at this price it should be sold as such, she said "it's not our fault"? Is she accusing me of replacing the sticker myself then? Can always find a bargain at Marshalls. My go two for the simple things

I've only ever bought a belt and undershirts from here because I think they want too much for the men's clothing. Also their selection is very limited in my size (XL) and they have too many clothes with polyester in them. I prefer 100% natural fibers but I can put up with 8% other. Most of their stuff was 60% polyester and up. Maybe I'm just cheap but I can get a better clothing at better prices from Buffalo Exchange or Revolve. I do not see the appeal. Heck, just wait for a sale at Dillard's or Norstrom Rack! I'm glad that they don;t depend on me for business because they would starve. ddc read more

This is my favorite Marshall's... they have a great selection of merchandise year-around. Women's clothes and shoes are super here and the store is a little cleaner and more well organized than some of the other local Marshall's. They also have an amazing selection of home-goods including sheets, towels, accessories, and a limited selection of furniture items. I have also found some cool grocery items and mixers. The store gets busy though - so lines are common at the checkout. Just don't go when you are in a hurry. read more

I asked for the front desk/cashier place to reserve some clothes I had picked out because I had somewhere I had to be and the line was very long and slow. They said it was "no problem" to reserve them and that they would be put back on the rack after a day. I come back to the store in LESS THAN AN HOUR and they said the clothes I reserved are nowhere to be found and they must have been put back on the rack. I got no apology from them and they just walked away. It was a very annoying experience. read more

I got two pair of shoes for my daughter 2 wks ago, one is a 24.99 Juicy, she wear it maybe 5 times in the first 2wks, the only sport she is doing is 7.5 hr gymnastics every week IN BARE FOOT. Then not only the front end broke, the side of the shoe right next to where shoe laces start broke too! I brought the shoe back to the store, they claimed as long as you wear it, it's not returnable. So basically, if you bought a pair of lemon or just a bad brand with bad quality, you have to say to yourself: it's my bad luck day! I bought a pair of canvas shoes here and after wearing them the second time they started coming apart. I bought them on May 25th and went to return on Jun 6th. Yes, I still had the receipt! The salesperson asked the manager if they could be returned and he promptly said "no, they've been worn". She came back and told me they can't take them back because they can't resell them because they were worn. I told her to look at them, you can't sell these! They're coming apart! The poor girl looked helpless, so I asked if I could speak with the manager directly. He also proceeded to tell me he can't take them back because I wore them. I said look at the receipt, I haven't had them a month. They are coming apart. You cannot resell them!!! After going back and forth for a while he finally said he'd give me store credit. I've worked retail before and I also know about a little about damaging out merchandise. I also know about implied warranties. So, for Marshall's to try and tell me they can't take back damaged goods is bogus. I will use the gift card, but I don't think I'll be shopping here again. read more
